The Hehuan Sect cultivates alchemy; my senior sister helps me refine alchemy throughout the world.
Chapter 80 Please take care of me
Ah Qi followed behind Yin Wuxie, his eyes darting back and forth between Shen Yifei and the sect leader.
She is not a fool.
The cult leader was murderous before, wanting to refine Shen Yifei into a blood pill, but now he looks like this.
His face was pale, and his steps were unsteady, as if someone had drained thirty percent of his cultivation.
What's even stranger is that she actually let Shen Yifei walk beside her, instead of following behind her like a prisoner being escorted.
There's a problem, a big problem.
Ah Qi quickened his pace, leaned close to Shen Yifei's ear, and whispered, "What exactly did you do to the cult leader?"
"Alchemy, huh?" Shen Yifei said innocently. "Your sect leader asked me to refine a blood pill. I did, she tried it, and the effect was a bit too strong, so that's how it turned out."
"Blood Pill?" Ah Qi frowned. "You refined a Blood Pill?"
"It's been refined." Shen Yifei said without changing his expression. "It was refined in a blood furnace, and the effect is exceptionally good. After your sect leader consumed it, his cultivation level increased significantly, but the side effects were quite severe—dizziness and weakness. He needs to rest for a few days."
Ah Qi was skeptical. She had seen Blood Pills before; the elders in the sect did experience a brief period of weakness after consuming them, but the sect leader's reaction seemed excessive.
She wanted to ask more, but Yin Wuxie suddenly stopped and looked back at her.
"Ah Qi, go and ring the bell to summon everyone to the main hall."
"Everyone?"
"Everyone! Elders, protectors, disciples, not one is missing."
Ah Qi was taken aback. It had been almost ten years since the cult leader had summoned all his followers after refining the Blood Furnace. What was going on today?
But she didn't dare ask any more questions, so she simply responded and turned to leave.
Only Shen Yifei and Yin Wuxie remained in the corridor.
Yin Wuxie leaned against a stone pillar, her eyes closed, her chest heaving violently. Her blood-red robe was torn in several places, revealing her pale flesh underneath.
"Can you still hold on?" Shen Yifei asked.
"I have to hold on, even if I can't. There are over three hundred people, and not everyone respects me. If I collapse, they'll tear me to pieces and eat me."
"Is this how your Blood Soul Cult is?"
"What do you think?" Yin Wuxie sneered. "What good people can a sect that uses living people to refine pills have? I killed my master to get this position, and everyone below me dreams of killing me and taking my place. Today I've called everyone here. If they see me in such a wretched state, they might just start a rebellion."
Shen Yifei looked her up and down. "Your clothes are torn and don't look very presentable. Do you have any spares in your storage bag?"
Yin Wuxie took out a brand-new blood-red robe from her storage bag and put it on in front of Shen Yifei. Her movements as she took off her clothes were swift and decisive, without any attempt at concealment.
Shen Yifei didn't stand on ceremony and just stood there watching.
Yin Wuxie was over three hundred years old, yet her skin was like that of a twenty-year-old girl, with a slender waist, long legs, and all the right curves. However, she had a long scar on her back, stretching from her shoulder to her waist, looking as if she had been slashed by a sharp blade.
"Does it look good?" Yin Wuxie fastened her belt and turned around.
Shen Yifei remained silent.
The sound of bells came from the main hall, deep and long, echoing throughout the underground palace.
"Let's go." Yin Wuxie straightened his robes and strode towards the main hall.
Shen Yifei followed behind her, and the two of them walked through the corridor one after the other to the main hall.
The main hall was already packed with people. More than three hundred Blood Soul Cult members stood in neat rows, with elders and protectors in the front and ordinary disciples in the back. All of them wore black robes with blood-red skulls embroidered on their chests, making them look like a flock of crows.
Standing at the front, Ah Qi saw Yin Wuxie enter, knelt on one knee, and loudly proclaimed, "Welcome, Master!"
The followers behind him knelt down in unison, their voices echoing through the underground palace: "Welcome, Master!"
Yin Wuxie walked through the crowd, her blood-red robe trailing on the ground with a rustling sound. She stopped on the high platform at the front of the formation, turned around, and her blood-red eyes swept over the more than three hundred people below.
Shen Yifei stood below the stage, leaning against a stone pillar, watching the play with his arms crossed.
"Get up, all of you."
More than three hundred people stood up in unison, and there was complete silence.
Yin Wuxie paced back and forth on the high platform, then said, "I've called you here today for three things."
The elders below exchanged glances.
The cult leader hasn't convened all his followers in ten years, so this sudden large-scale gathering must mean something big is happening.
"The first thing," Yin Wuxie held up a finger, "is that the Blood Furnace has been destroyed by me."
These words caused an uproar in the main hall.
The elders' expressions changed drastically, the protectors exchanged bewildered glances, and the disciples whispered amongst themselves.
The Blood Furnace is the Blood Soul Cult's most prized treasure, a symbol of the cult leader's power, and the key element controlling the entire underground palace's restrictions. The destruction of the furnace means the destruction of the underground palace's restrictions as well.
An elderly man with white hair and beard stepped forward. He was the Great Elder of the Blood Soul Sect, with a cultivation level at the peak of the Golden Core stage. His status in the sect was second only to Yin Wuxie.
"Master, the Blood Furnace was forged from the blood and flesh of nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine people, and it is connected to your soul. If you destroy it, wouldn't you be damaging your own cultivation?"
"So what if my cultivation is damaged? I can just repair it again," Yin Wuxie said casually. "The Blood Furnace is an evil and crooked thing; it should have been destroyed long ago."
The Grand Elder frowned deeply. Why did the Sect Leader seem like a completely different person today? Before, she treated the Blood Furnace as her lifeblood, and she would fight anyone who dared to touch it. Now, she just destroyed it like that?
"Master, what's going on...?" the Grand Elder hesitated, choosing his words carefully. "Has something happened?"
"Nothing happened, I just figured it out." Yin Wuxie said without changing his expression. "The Blood Soul Sect started by using living people to refine pills, and has committed too many sins. From today onwards, this path has come to an end."
The murmurs below grew louder and louder. Several elders' faces had turned grim. They followed Yin Wuxie precisely because the Blood Pills could rapidly increase their cultivation. Now that the sect leader was saying he wouldn't refine Blood Pills anymore, wasn't this cutting off their path to cultivation?
The Grand Elder stepped forward: "Sect Leader, the Blood Soul Sect has existed for three hundred years, always relying on Blood Elixir. Isn't it too hasty to change this with just a few words?"
"Rash?" Yin Wuxie stared at him with blood-red eyes. "Elder, are you questioning my decision?"
"I wouldn't dare," the Grand Elder lowered his head. "But this matter is of great importance, so please reconsider, Master."
"I've thought it over carefully." Yin Wuxie remained unmoved. "The second thing. From today onwards, the Blood Soul Sect will cease refining Blood Pills, refrain from killing the innocent, and reform itself."
These words were more explosive than destroying the Blood Furnace.
All three hundred-plus people were stunned. Repent and reform? The Blood Soul Cult is an evil cult; what right do they have to reform and reform? Isn't this just ruining their own reputation?
The Grand Elder's face trembled. He took a deep breath and said in a low voice, "Master, are you feeling unwell today? Should we go back and rest, and discuss this another day?"
"I'm perfectly healthy." Yin Wuxie stared at him. "Elder, do you think I'm crazy?"
"Your subordinate dares not."
"Good that you don't dare." Yin Wuxie turned around to face the more than three hundred people below. "The third thing."
She pointed to Shen Yifei below the stage.
"His name is Shen Yifei. From today onwards, he is a guest elder of the Blood Soul Sect. Seeing him is like seeing me. Anyone who dares to disrespect him is disrespecting me."
All eyes turned to Shen Yifei.
Shen Yifei leaned against a stone pillar, waved to everyone, and grinned: "Hello everyone, please take care of me in the future."
