Lin Yu lay on the bed, staring blankly at the wooden beam above his head.

This is my first night here, and to be honest... I can't sleep.

The bed frame was a bit hard, but the bedding was fluffy from the sun. The chirping of insects outside the window was intermittent, and occasionally a gust of wind blew through the eaves, causing the dried mushrooms to clatter together.

It wasn't a particularly comfortable environment, but the atmosphere was reassuring and made it easier to think things through.

Lin Yu turned over, put his hands behind his head, and started thinking about what to do next.

This world has magic and fighting spirit, as well as all sorts of strange and extraordinary powers.

For ordinary people, getting by is fine, but to live comfortably, one must constantly become stronger.

Otherwise, you could become a prisoner, a slave, or a corpse at any time...

And to be honest, Lin Yu was quite curious about this world.

Mysterious magic, powerful combat skills, those dungeons, those scenes that only appeared in CG, can now all be seen with real eyes.

And then there are the many colorful female characters: elves, succubi, catgirls, foxgirls, dragongirls, rabbitgirls, wolfgirls, cowgirls, snakegirls, slimegirls...

Lin Yu rolled over. Uh...we'll talk about it another day.

The most important thing right now is the potion encyclopedia in Dawn Forest.

As a kind of beginner's bonus in the game, the Potions Compendium records hundreds of potion recipes, from the lowest-level healing potions to precious potions that can temporarily boost magic power, it has everything.

Having that book is like having a continuous source of income.

After all, potion makers are a popular profession no matter where they are.

But with Lin Yu's current physique, forcing his way into the dungeon would be no different from suicide.

However, it's not entirely impossible.

It's not that there's absolutely no way to solve it.

This brings us to the second female character you can encounter in Holm Village. She is a demi-human girl whose race is cow, and her name is Bell.

He used to be an adventurer, but after leaving the party, he went into seclusion in Holm Village. He's quite strong.

If we can get her to agree, things will be much easier.

In fact, obtaining the complete potion manual in the game does unlock a story segment with Bell.

Lin Yu also knew that Bell had a hidden ailment that was difficult to talk about, and the Potions Encyclopedia happened to contain a method to treat this disease.

We could use the excuse of needing her medical treatment to persuade her.

Using this as leverage, she'll most likely agree. As for how to bring it up... let's talk about it tomorrow.

A slight noise came from the next room, like someone turning over; the bed creaked, then fell silent.

Lin Yu was a little surprised that Arya was still awake at this hour.

Although it's only around 10 o'clock now, it's still an era without cell phones and computers. The residents of Holm Village are probably all asleep by around 8 o'clock.

Lin Yu didn't dwell on it too much. He looked at the moonlight streaming in through the window for a while, then closed his eyes and slowly calmed down.

The next room—

Arya lay in complete darkness with her eyes open.

I can't sleep, I toss and turn and can't fall asleep.

She pulled the blanket up to her chin, staring at the ceiling, her mind filled with the scene from the kitchen.

The feeling of someone holding her waist, the warmth of her chest against her skin, and the sensation of that hand running through her hair.

My scalp still feels numb, like something is crawling down my hair, across my neck, down my back, and finally landing on my lower abdomen, where it feels warm.

And there was the scent on Lin Yu.

It wasn't the scent of soap; it was a man's fragrance, mixed with body heat, so strong it was almost overwhelming.

The moment it was pressed against me, it felt like my whole body was wrapped up, and I couldn't breathe.

Arya buried her face in the pillow, her ears burning. She cursed herself inwardly for being thirty years old and still acting like a teenager.

But those images just wouldn't stop flashing through my mind.

The muscles Lin Yu revealed as he bent over to wash the dishes, the way his fingers gripped the rim of the bowl, the profile of his face in the firelight, and his eyes.

When those eyes looked at her, she always felt a burning sensation, she couldn't quite put her finger on it, but it just made her heart race.

Because of the war, the number of men in Holm Village has been decreasing in recent years. After the war ended, the surviving men either stayed in other places or went further west to make a living.

The village is mostly populated by women, the elderly, and children.

She hadn't seen a young and strong man like Lin Yu in a long time.

Arya sighed, turned over, and tucked the blanket between her legs.

She was naturally introverted and didn't like crowds, so she didn't have many friends in the village. Every day, she would go up the mountain to pick mushrooms, clean them, and sell them at the market the next day.

Day after day, there was no one to talk to.

Now there's suddenly a man in the house, and he's the kind of young, strong man who cares about and is considerate of women.

She was a little flustered, but also had an inexplicable sense of anticipation.

"Stop thinking about it, stop thinking about it." Arya patted her face, her voice muffled by the pillow.

My face was burning hot, and my palms were burning too.

She pulled the blanket over her head and curled up into a ball. It took a long time before her breathing gradually calmed down.

.....

Lin Yu woke up just as dawn was breaking.

There was noise coming from the kitchen next door: the clattering of pots and pans, and the crackling of burning firewood.

Lin Yu sat up and rubbed his neck, causing the bed to creak.

I got dressed and opened the door.

The heater in the living room was already lit, and the orange-red flames made the whole room feel warm and cozy.

Arya stood in front of the stove with her back to Lin Yu, wearing a floral apron tied around her waist in a crooked bow.

She was bending down to reach the pot deep in the stove, and the ties of her apron tightened with the movement, accentuating her slender waist.

Beneath the coarse cloth skirt, her round, full buttocks swayed slightly as she tiptoed.

Her hair was casually tied back with a wooden hairpin, with a few stray strands hanging down on either side of her neck, and her exposed skin gleaming in the firelight.

She reached for the spice jars on the shelf, but couldn't reach them, so she tiptoed, elongating her waist and pulling her clothes up to reveal a small patch of skin on her side.

White, so white it's dazzling.

"Awake?" Arya turned her head at the sound, her face still showing signs of sleepiness, but her eyes were bright: "Wait a moment, breakfast will be ready soon."

"I'll help."

"No need, no need, you can just sit here." Arya quickly waved her hand and turned to rummage through the pot. "I'm not used to you doing this." Arya then smiled.

Lin Yu didn't stand on ceremony and sat down at the table.

A moment later, Arya brought over a bowl of hot wheat porridge with a few wild vegetable leaves floating on top, and a small dish of pickled mushrooms on the side.

"Eat it while it's hot, it won't taste good when it's cold." She placed the bowl in front of Lin Yu and straightened his spoon.

Lin Yu picked up the bowl and took a sip. The porridge was cooked until very soft, and the aroma of wheat was fully released. The saltiness was just right.

"It's delicious," he said.

Arya smiled and sat down opposite Lin Yu, picking up her bowl as well.

The two were eating breakfast facing each other, their knees occasionally brushing against each other, neither of them dodging away.

Halfway through the meal, there was a knock on the door, a loud, urgent knock.
