Under One Person: The End of Technique, Company Building

Chapter 29 Poor Tom is being manipulated.

At Terminal 2 of Tianjin Binhai International Airport, there is never a shortage of people eagerly waiting outside the domestic arrivals exit.

Xu Si arrived exceptionally early today.

He specially changed into a dark gray casual suit that he usually wouldn't wear, without a tie, and unbuttoned his shirt to the second button, revealing a section of his collarbone. His hair was styled with hair wax into a carefully trimmed "casual" look.

He leaned against the railing, holding a bouquet of white roses that were clearly newly bought, his gaze occasionally drifting toward the automatic door from which passengers were pouring out.

Xu San leaned against a pillar a few steps away, arms crossed, his face expressionless, but the slight downturn of his lips betrayed his feelings.

"Brother, what time do you think she'll be out? Is the flight on time?" Xu Si asked without turning his head, his tone filled with barely suppressed agitation.

"No delays, we'll land in fifteen minutes. Including luggage, it'll take at least half an hour." Xu San's tone was nonchalant. "You're standing here like a gatekeeper; everyone can see you at a glance. What's the point?"

"What do you know, you old bachelor?" Xu Si weighed the bouquet in his hand. "You'll never get a woman if you're too shy."

Xu San didn't reply, he just rolled his eyes.

He actually understands his younger brother quite well.

Ren Fei, the head of the Central China branch, is young, beautiful, has a strong background, and is highly capable. Within the company, she belongs to the very top tier of people.

It's strange that Xu Si, who is fearless, suddenly became inferior to her.

But he also knew that Ren Fei's trip to Tianjin was for Zhuge Qi, and had nothing to do with the North China branch.

They didn't even bother to contact North China before contacting Zhuge Qi directly. Xu Si is rushing to curry favor, but nine times out of ten it's just a case of offering a warm welcome only to be met with a cold shoulder.

However, he didn't say it aloud.

It's no use talking to him; Xu Si is stubborn as a mule, he won't turn back even if he hits a brick wall.

Time passed by, bit by bit.

An announcement came over the loudspeaker in the terminal, informing passengers that a flight from a city in central China had arrived.

Xu Si immediately straightened his back, straightened his clothes, and put on what he thought was his most handsome smile.

The automatic doors opened, and passengers began to file out. There were business people dragging suitcases, young parents holding hands with their children, and students carrying large and small bags...

Xu Si's eyes searched through the crowd, and soon he locked onto his target.

A tall woman wearing a khaki trench coat was pushing a black suitcase and walking out at a leisurely pace.

She had neat, shoulder-length short hair, delicate features, and an air of dignified authority that came with years of holding a high position. She walked with a confident stride, and the crowd around her seemed to automatically make way for her.

It was Ren Fei, the head of the Central China region.

Accompanying her were several employees from the Central China division, who were also quite skilled Qi cultivators.

In particular, one of the men, a robust middle-aged man with disheveled hair and a thick beard, walked at the edge of the group, but kept a close eye on his surroundings.

Xu Si's eyes lit up, and he immediately went to meet her, his steps quick and steady. He handed her the white roses, his smile as bright as the afternoon sun.

"Director Ren! Here you are! You must be tired from your journey. The airplane food probably wasn't to your liking, right? I booked a private restaurant nearby. It's quiet and the food is authentic. Let's go there for a bit..."

Before he could finish speaking, Ren Fei stopped in her tracks.

She turned her head slightly, her gaze falling on Xu Si's enthusiastic face. Her brows furrowed almost imperceptibly, her eyes calm, carrying a just-right aloofness.

"Xu Si?" Her voice was cold. "What are you doing here?"

Xu Si's smile froze for a moment, but he quickly recovered and pushed the flowers forward again: "I came to pick you up! You came to Tianjin, how could I not show my appreciation? These flowers..."

"Thank you, but I'm allergic to pollen." Ren Fei didn't take the bouquet at all, and even took a half step to the side to avoid the bouquet. Her gaze swept over Xu Si's shoulder and scanned the crowd, as if she was looking for someone. "I'm here to discuss official business with Section Chief Zhuge from headquarters. I informed North China in advance, so I won't trouble you."

These words were polite yet distant, effectively silencing Xu Si's enthusiasm.

Xu Si's hand, holding the flowers, hovered in mid-air, and the smile on his face finally began to falter.

He coughed lightly, about to add a few more words, but Ren Fei's gaze had already locked onto a certain direction outside the terminal exit, and her originally indifferent expression visibly softened a bit.

Xu Si followed her gaze.

In the parking area outside the terminal exit, a black Buick minibus was parked in the most conspicuous position.

A man stood beside the car, his posture upright. He wore a dark blue jacket over a white shirt, the hem neatly tucked into his trousers. He wore thin-rimmed glasses, and his hair was combed meticulously. He exuded a maturity and composure beyond his years.

It was Zhuge Qi.

Behind him stood Ma Hong, and Liu Yanyan, whose figure was partially obscured by Ma Hong's tall stature.

The three of them stood there quietly, without holding up any signs or shouting, as if they were just ordinary passersby who happened to be waiting for someone.

Ren Fei ignored Xu Si and led the group towards Zhuge Qi's direction.

Xu Si stood frozen in place, holding the bouquet of white roses that no one had paid any attention to, his expression changing repeatedly.

Xu San walked over at some point, looked at his younger brother's face, which looked like he'd swallowed a fly, and said with undisguised schadenfreude, "Tsk, what did I tell you?"

"Brother, shut up." Xu Si replied irritably.

But he couldn't help himself and watched from afar as Ren Fei walked up to Zhuge Qi.

Zhuge Qi nodded slightly, a perfectly measured smile on his face—warm yet respectful—and extended his hand: "Director Ren, thank you for your hard work. Was your journey smooth?"

Ren Fei reached out and shook hands with him, their fingertips touching briefly before parting, but the smile on her face became more genuine: "Since Section Chief Zhuge came to pick me up personally, I dare not say it's a hardship."

Zhuge Qi released his hand, turned to the side and gestured "please," said Zhuge Qi, "Shall we talk on the way?"

"Okay." Ren Fei nodded without refusing.

Ma Hong immediately stepped forward, deftly took the suitcase from Ren Fei's hands, and put it in the luggage compartment of the minibus.

Liu Yanyan stood aside, curiously observing this woman who was said to be "one of the few female cadres in the company who could handle things on her own," her eyes sparkling with a hint of awe and gossip typical of young people.

Ren Fei and her group also got into the car.

The whole process was smooth and efficient, without any delays.

Zhuge Qi followed closely behind. Before getting into the car, he turned around and nodded slightly to Xu Si and Xu San in the distance, then closed the car door, blocking all view.

The black minibus started its engine and smoothly drove away from the terminal.

Outside the terminal exit, Xu Si stood alone, the petals of the white roses in his hand trembling gently in the breeze.

Xu San strolled over leisurely, patted his younger brother on the shoulder, and said with the wisdom of someone who's been through it all, "Let's go, what are you still looking at?"

Xu Si finally snapped out of his daze, looked down at the bouquet in his hand, and suddenly shoved it into the nearby trash can in annoyance, muttering, "Could it be that Zhuge Qi... has also taken a liking to Ren Fei?"

Xu San was taken aback, then burst out laughing: "You're sick."
