Take her as my wife

Chapter 11 A Discussion on the Questions of a Upright Gentleman

Jiang Ni had no idea what he was imagining. She only felt that the temperature in the study seemed a bit low. She had just finished reading the USB drive to the computer, so she didn't move. Instead, she called out to Tan Wen, "Tan Wen, could you get me a lighter jacket? My bedroom is the one opposite the study."

Tan Wen was more than happy to oblige, so he simply grunted "Mmm" and strode away.

Jiang Ni slept in the master bedroom, which was quite spacious and included a separate walk-in closet. However, what attracted Tan Wen the most was the two-meter-wide bed.

There is only one pillow on the bed now.

Tan Wen patrolled the area like a vicious dog on patrol, then went to the dressing room to find clothes for Jiang Ni. Aunt Zhou took excellent care of Jiang Ni's daily life, with all her clothes neatly categorized.

He took down a thin sun-protective jacket, but instead of leaving, he squatted down and opened a drawer.

It's all kinds of socks.

He pulled open the right drawer, his dark eyes darkening.

—Found it.

Jiang Ni was watching the surveillance video that Tan Wen had copied for her. When she saw Wang Feipeng trying to tear off Chen Siyao's clothes, her face turned icy. Chen Siyao resisted fiercely and was then repeatedly beaten by several people.

Perhaps driven to the extreme by fear, her small body suddenly burst forth with tremendous strength, allowing her to escape the clutches of these demonic children and stumble out of the dark alley.

Jiang Ni was organizing all the evidence she had collected that day. She was so focused that she didn't notice the passage of time until Tan Wen draped a coat over her shoulders, which brought her back to her senses.

"Thanks."

Knowing that she needed to focus on her work, Tan Wen sat down on the sofa next to her, saying, "You go ahead and do your thing, don't worry about me."

Jiang Ni pointed to the small portable table on his left: "The PSP is in the drawer."

"Okay." He found his PSP, turned it on, and casually opened a game.

The keyboard clicked away, and Jiang Ni sat upright and elegantly. Her hands, whether typing or her serious profile, were very pleasing to the eye.

Tan was so engrossed in watching her that he completely ignored the game he was playing.

When Aunt Zhou came to call them for dinner, he looked away before Jiang Ni could even look up.

Aunt Zhou is a good cook and made several elaborate dishes, including boiled shrimp, which Jiang Ni loves. Aunt Zhou was going to wear gloves to peel the shrimp for Jiang Ni, but Tan Wen beat her to it.

Jiang Ni picked up a piece of meat and ate it, then returned the favor by picking up a piece of steamed lamb chop for him: "Eat it yourself, and I'll take you back to school after you're done."

"Is my sister just trying to get rid of me?"

"I'm worried your advisor will give you extra punishment if you don't go back. Don't you think ten laps are enough?"

Tan Wen peeled another shrimp for her and put it in her bowl, saying casually, "I could carry you for ten laps without a problem, have you forgotten?"

Jiang Ni didn't forget.

She had only been in Ning County for a short time then and was not yet familiar with Tan Wen. Moreover, she witnessed Tan Wen fighting with someone in the alley. The boy's fierce eyes and brows were quite impactful. Although Jiang Ni was not frightened by him, her first impression of him was not very good.

When Jiang Ni later learned that he was actually Tan Yan's younger brother, she was genuinely surprised. The two brothers were worlds apart, both in appearance and personality.

However, Tan Wen is actually cold on the outside but warm on the inside. When she arrived at the Tan family, the first person she became familiar with was Tan Wen.

Once, she encountered a group of thugs who tried to grope her. Tan Wen suddenly appeared out of nowhere and smashed one of them on the head with a brick. However, there were many of them, and Tan Wen also had to protect her, so he fought back hesitantly. In the end, he simply grabbed her and ran away.

Jiang Ni's athletic ability was average, and she slowed down as she ran. Tan Wen squatted down on the ground, turned to look at her, and said, "Get on!"

By then, Tan Wen already had a broad back. Knowing she couldn't be a burden to him, she quickly leaned onto his back and hugged the boy's neck.

Tan Wen skillfully held down her skirt, his two strong arms slipped under her knees, and he easily hoisted her onto his back before running away at top speed!

That group chased them for a long time before giving up.

Running from the old town entrance to the new district, a distance of several kilometers, Tan Wen was covered in sweat but only managed to catch his breath a few times.

His physical strength is nothing short of freakish.

As the meal drew to a close, Aunt Zhou noticed that the two of them had been chatting non-stop. Jiang Ni could pick up on anything Tan Wen said, and Jiang Ni could understand and respond to any jokes Tan Wen made.

Aunt Zhou, who was listening nearby, was quite surprised. Before, when Jiang Ni and Tan Yan were together, they were both very polite and reserved. Because of their different work environments, they didn't seem to have much to talk about. Aunt Zhou had thought that they had a rule of "not talking while eating or sleeping".

Looking back now, it turns out that Jiang Ni also has a lively and talkative side.

After dinner, Tan Wen insisted that Jiang Ni not see him off, and took a taxi back to school by himself.

After informing his advisor, he went back to his dorm to change into his training clothes and went for a run.

Zhao Qian and the others accompanied him to the playground. He went to run laps, while the rest of them sat on the steps chatting.

Zhao Qian: "He smelled wonderful when he came back, could you smell it?"

Feng Yin nodded and adjusted his glasses: "It smells just like the woman I met at the barbecue restaurant that day."

Zhou Kaiyuan glanced sideways: "Are you trying to steal a job from a police dog?"

Feng ignored his teasing and continued, "Judging from the intensity of the fragrance, they must have been together for at least six hours."

Zhao Qian was utterly impressed by their natural academic geniuses. He raised an eyebrow and grinned mischievously, "Hey Si'er, can you guess whether Brother Wen and that pretty lady did anything... you know?"

Feng Ying shook his head decisively: "No."

"What's the basis for this?" Zhao Qian and Zhou Kaiyuan asked in unison, full of curiosity.

Feng Yin looked at them like they were idiots: "Brother Wen obviously hasn't won her over yet. He's a gentleman, not a lecherous old man like you."

Tan, a gentleman, was running laps while reminiscing about the wonderful time he spent with Jiang Ni that day, as well as the underwear he saw in the drawer.

Jiang Ni was even more "conservative" than he had imagined; she mostly wore pure cotton underwear, and there were very few styles with lace trim.

However, it should be one of his hands.

The exquisite beauty is beyond our control.

The more he thought about it, the drier his mouth became. He ran up to Zhao Qian and the others and gave them orders: "Go get me a bottle of water, ice-cold."

Zhao Qian stood up to buy him water, muttering, "I can't ask you for water today. You need to rehydrate after only three laps... and you've sweated so much."

After obtaining the surveillance video, Jiang Ni immediately printed out the complaint and had Wu Wenyi confirm and sign it before submitting the complaint materials to the court.

Before the court hearing notice arrived, Wang Jiayu and Gao Yuan's parents showed up at Wu Wenyi's door, blocking the entrance and banging on the door with an extremely hostile attitude.

"Just say you want money, stop pretending! We're not missing any limbs, why are we going to court!"

"Exactly! It's normal for kids to have disagreements and friction. Haven't you ever fought with your classmates before?"

"Open the door! We're here to apologize, don't push your luck!"

Wu Wenyi locked the door, made a phone call to Jiang Ni, and recorded their conversation.

After waiting for a while, Jiang Ni led the community security guards upstairs.

The other party was extremely arrogant, and after a few words of argument, they suddenly started fighting. Jiang Ni was accidentally pushed by Gao Yuan's father, and her forehead hit the corner of the wall, drawing blood immediately.

Wu Wenyi saw it through the video doorbell, immediately pulled open the door and rushed out, still holding a mop handle in her hand.

The scene was in complete chaos.

When Aunt Zhou saw that Jiang Ni was injured, she was terrified and ran home to get a first-aid kit to stop the bleeding and bandage Jiang Ni.

Jiang Ni called the police, and this time a thin, dark-skinned officer came. He looked righteous and stern, and he sternly reprimanded her, "Behave yourselves! Think carefully about what you have to say, and we'll talk about it at the station later!"

So the group went to the police station in a large group.

Wu Wenyi had a recording, and since they were the victims, the Wang and Gao families had absolutely no grounds for complaint. The police officer said sternly, "This is the first time I've seen such an arrogant family. As the saying goes, 'If the head of the family is crooked, the children will be crooked too.' If you don't teach your children properly now, society will teach them a lesson!"

Before leaving the police station, Jiang Ni carefully scanned her surroundings but did not find Sun Zhijie's father.

Two days after the farce, Jiang Ni received a notification from the police station that the person who had beaten Wu Wenyi and her daughter had been found and that they should go and confirm the details.

The other party has confessed that it was Wang Jiayu's family who contacted them and gave them 50,000 yuan.

These events will all help Jiang Ni and her team win their case in the later court hearings.

In Jiang Ni's lawsuit, she also sued Sun Zhijie, Wang Feipeng, and others. They will eventually have to bear the bitter consequences for their mistakes.

There were still some days before the trial, and there was still a faint mark on Jiang Ni's forehead.

Knowing that she was injured, Liu Jiaren quickly brought her the best scar removal cream, fearing that her perfect face would be "imperfect".

The two sisters hadn't seen each other for a short while, so Liu Jiaren decided to stay at Jiang Ni's house tonight.

The two lay face to face in the bathtub, and Liu Jiaren, playing with the bubbles, asked her, "By the way, Nini, where are the photos I asked for?"

She had almost forgotten about Jiang Ni if she hadn't mentioned it, and said helplessly, "I forgot to ask."

Liu Jiaren gave her a flirtatious wink: "Ask now."

Jiang Ni had no choice but to wipe her hands clean and pick up her phone to start typing.

The perverted man continues to harass her these past few days, but she still hasn't replied to a single message.

This time, an exception will be made again because of Yoo Ga-in.

Tan received her message right after finishing his game.

Today is Saturday, so the dormitory curfew will be a little later. After dinner, they arranged to play a friendly match with some acquaintances from the reconnaissance academy.

Zhao Qian curiously leaned forward: "Brother Wen, you have two cell phones?"

Tan Wen raised his eyes and gave him a cold glare, his thin lips parting slightly: "Get lost."

Zhao Qian timidly gave him four words: "Forget your friends for the sake of beauty."

They walked ahead, arms around each other's shoulders.

Tan unlocked his phone, overjoyed.

[Nini, my wife]: Are you there? I need to ask you for a favor.
