Gojo Satoru and Mashiro walked out of the council chamber building.

The automatic door made a "ding-dong" sound behind me and closed automatically.

Aside from the two security guards, we didn't encounter anyone else along the way.

I wonder if it's because no one is present when the higher-ups hold meetings. If so, then their vigilance is really low.

Or perhaps they felt that no one would dare to do anything to them?

As for the two... never mind, I've had enough fun lately.

Maybe they're just that innocent, who knows?

As people gradually emerged from the barrier that kept ordinary people at bay, the streets slowly became lively again.

Although the sun has set, Tokyo remains a vibrant city that never sleeps, filled with neon lights.

Gojo Satoru stopped at the street corner, and Mashiro also stopped, looking at him strangely.

Gojo Satoru put his hands in his pockets, looked up at the sky, and then turned to look at Mashiro.

"There's a dessert shop that's still open."

Mashiro looked at him without saying a word, tilting her head slightly, her eyes full of doubt.

"It's not far from here. It's a ten-minute walk." Although Gojo Satoru couldn't see her eyes, he still knew what she wanted to say.

"I've done enough tonight, let's have some dessert before we go back."

"Now?"

"Right now, Yaga and Rakanji haven't met yet, so going there would just be waiting." Gojo Satoru shrugged. "Won't the young lady of the Kujo family do me the honor?"

Seeing that he seemed to be possessed by a drama queen, Mashiro sighed, "I didn't say I wouldn't go."

"Let's go then." Gojo Satoru turned and started walking.

The two walked north along the main road for a few minutes and then turned into a side road at an intersection.

The streetlights are not as glaring as before; they are a softer, warmer light.

After reaching the end of the fork in the road and turning another corner, Gojo Satoru stopped in front of a building.

The dessert shop is located on the first floor of that building. The sign is small, and the shop name on it is handwritten, showing that it is the work of a master.

Gojo Satoru pushed open the door, and the bell hanging on the door rang once.

The shop assistant looked up and his professional smile turned warm the moment he saw Gojo Satoru.

"Mr. Gojo, your private room has been available the whole time. How many of you are there?"

"Gentlemen," Gojo Satoru said, leading Mashiro inside into a small private room.

Although it's not large, the interior decoration is quite unique, with Japanese-style private rooms overlooking the Tokyo night view.

Soft background music was playing in the corner of the private room, creating a relaxed atmosphere.

Gojo Satoru took his coat off his shoulder and draped it over the back of the chair, and Mashiro sat down opposite him.

The clerk placed the menu on the table, and Gojo Satoru flipped through it, tapping between a few lines with his finger.

"Tiramisu, strawberry parfait, and a latte with sugar." He closed the menu and handed it to her, tilting his chin slightly towards Mashiro. "What would you like?"

Mashiro looked at the menu, flipped through a couple of pages, and looked at the various desserts without prices. After hesitating for a while, she ordered two familiar ones.

"Matcha parfait and mango pudding."

The clerk nodded, took the menu, and left.

"It's quite upscale. Do you come here often?" Mashiro looked around.

"Yes, you can just mention my name if you want to eat it next time." Gojo Satoru nodded.

"Isn't it too sweet?"

Gojo Satoru looked at Mashiro, who seemed a little hesitant, and said, "They'll make it with the normal sweetness level for you. The taste here is more than just worth the price."

While they were talking, dessert was served.

The cocoa powder in the tiramisu was sprinkled evenly, and a thin layer of frosting had formed on the glass of the strawberry parfait.

Gojo Satoru picked up a spoon and scooped up a bite of parfait. After the cream melted in his mouth, he nodded.

"You should try it too, I know my judgment is sound."

Mashiro picked up her spoon.

She scooped up the red bean from the top of the pudding and put it in her mouth, then cut off a small piece of pudding.

The mango had a rich flavor and a smooth texture, so she ate another spoonful.

Gojo Satoru wiped his mouth; he had already eaten half of the parfait.

"Tomorrow morning, Leyan Temple will give a briefing on the situation in the conference room," said Gojo Satoru.

"What excuse will you use?"

"The entire senior management was attacked by a cursed spirit during the meeting, but he escaped because he didn't attend."

"It's more reliable than him being the only one who survives in the end."

"Telling the truth always carries more weight."

Mashiro nodded. "You can arrange it."

After saying that, she became engrossed in the dessert again, taking small bites.

......

By the time they finished eating and returned to the college, it was almost ten o'clock.

The office of Moth was lit, and the door was unlocked.

Gojo Satoru reached out and pushed open the door, leading Mashiro inside.

He had already arrived at Leyan Temple. He sat on the sofa and gently picked up a teacup to drink tea.

Moth stood beside the desk, the tea completely cooled down, but he held it in his palm without drinking it. They were waiting for the two men to return.

When the door opened, Moth raised his head, his gaze first falling on Gojo Satoru, then shifting to Mashiro.

He looked the two of them over from head to toe; they were unharmed and even had a faint, sweet scent.

What time is the agreed-upon time?

"Nine o'clock." Gojo Satoru smiled without any embarrassment. "I was worried you wouldn't arrive yet, so I went to treat Mashiro to some dessert first. You don't mind, do you?"

"Cough cough."

"Those trivial matters are irrelevant." Leyan Temple coughed twice, steer the conversation back on track, "How many high-ranking members are left in the council chamber?"

"Not one left." Gojo Satoru walked over and sat down on a chair opposite Rakuganji Temple.

He leaned back in the chair, pressing his entire back against it, and stretched his legs out, crossing them at his ankles.

"What should we say to outsiders?"

"A cursed spirit attack! The entire leadership was attacked by a top-tier cursed spirit during the meeting, and no one survived," Mashiro nodded and said.

"The headmaster of Rakuganji Temple is the only survivor. He will inform the outside world tomorrow." Gojo Satoru crossed his fingers on his abdomen, speaking in the same tone as usual.

Leyan Temple lifted his hands off his knees and placed them on the armrest of the sofa.

He pondered how to mitigate the impact of this incident.

"There can't be no follow-up after the notification; the operation of branches in various regions needs to be resumed immediately. If all the vacancies in senior management and branch heads are not filled within two days, there will be loopholes in the monitoring of cursed spirits and the scheduling of tasks in various regions."

He paused for a moment, "Two of the branch managers are the names you received last time. The rest aren't on the list, but we still need to screen them."

Moth picked up a notebook from her desk and opened it. Two rows of words were listed on the page, some with checkmarks, some with question marks, and some were blank.

He turned the notebook slightly towards Leyan Temple.

"These are the candidates we can nominate from within the Sorcerer's Guild," Moth said, placing her pen beside her notebook. "But we don't have enough nominees to fill all the vacancies, so we need to find replacements from other sources."

"First, we'll screen all the guild members. If we don't have enough, we'll recruit from the existing level one mages," said Gojo Satoru.

"Nominations need to be reviewed. There are more than twenty vacancies in total, and Leyan Temple cannot review them all by one person."

Mashiro spoke up, "Then let Gojo Satoru screen the nomination list."
