Zombie World: Starting as an apprentice of the Thunder King

Lin Bei was gone for most of the day.

Although the corpse-raising ground doesn't look very big, the real acupoints are hidden very deep.

He carried the compass around and around in the valley, the needle darting left and right, unpredictable.

He then squatted down, parted the weeds to examine the color of the soil, climbed up the earthen slope to survey the surrounding mountains, and after comparing various locations, finally selected a spot three feet east of the center of the valley floor depression.

By the time the two borrowed the shovels, it was already evening!

"Wow!" Shi Jian exclaimed as soon as he saw the two return.

Lin Bei and Shi Shaojian exchanged a glance, rolled up their sleeves, and started digging.

However, when he dug down, all he found was damp black soil with a rotten smell. The deeper he dug, the stronger the smell became. Shi Shaojian had barely dug two feet when he was forced to frown from the stench.

"What's that awful smell?"

"There's a zombie buried down there; the stench of death mixes with the smell of rotting earth." Lin Bei didn't even look up. "Bear with it!"

The two dug for most of the hour when their shovels suddenly hit something hard, making a dull thud.

"Found it!" Lin Bei threw down the shovel, dug away the loose soil with his hands, and revealed a section of black coffin.

The coffin was larger than ordinary coffins, and it was completely black. Touching it immediately sent a chill down your spine, and there were some strange runes on it.

Lin Bei reached out and pushed the coffin lid, but there was no movement. Then he used all his strength, but the coffin lid still didn't budge.

"Senior brother, lend a hand."

The two of them tried to push the coffin lid together, but it seemed to be stuck on by something, and no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't open it.

He shot a beam of white light from his fingertips, which struck the coffin lid.

The black corpse energy surging from the gaps in the coffin lid was mostly dispersed by the white light, and the coffin lid loosened slightly as a result.

Taking advantage of the situation, Lin Bei pushed hard.

"It's open!"

The coffin lid was pushed open a crack, and a strong stench of death rushed out from the gap. Lin Bei jumped back half a step, his right hand already on the Ghost-Slaying Sword.

"Zombies are intelligent, and the higher the level of the zombie, the higher its intelligence." Lin Bei pulled out a few more talismans from his bundle. "Although the armored zombie isn't that powerful, it at least has some brains and knows what it can and cannot mess with."

He threw several exorcising talismans into the gap, and a series of explosions immediately rang out from inside the coffin, followed by a strong smell of corpses emanating from it.

The armored corpse jumped out of the coffin pit, landing with a dull thud, leaving two shallow craters in the ground.

It was a head taller than an average adult male, with taut, dark blue skin all over its body, as if it were wrapped in a layer of iron. The fingernails on its ten fingers gleamed with a cold, metallic light, and its two fangs were sharp and long.

But as soon as it came out, it looked at Shi Jian, and a trace of fear flashed clearly in its dark eyes. It shrank back, as if it was weighing whether or not to run away.

"What? Not dodging anymore? Go ahead and keep dodging!" Lin Bei grinned maliciously, drawing his Ghost-Slaying Sword and blocking its path. "Too bad you've run into a Taoist master. Just accept your fate."

The armored zombie let out an angry roar, as if to say: I've already acted so cowardly, and you still won't let me go? What did I do to you?

It lunged at Lin Bei with astonishing speed, its ten iron-hook-like claws digging straight at Lin Bei's face.

"Breaking evil!"

Lin Bei stepped to the left and dodged with the Yu Step, sweeping out the Ghost-Slaying Sword.

The sword blade struck the armored corpse's arm with a crisp sound, leaving only a shallow white mark.

The armored zombie swung its claws at Lin Bei's chest, but instead of retreating, Lin Bei advanced and punched it in the abdomen.

"Block and strike!"

With his perfectly formed copper-skinned body infused with magical power, the punch landed squarely on the armored corpse's belly.

boom!

With a muffled thud, the armored corpse was knocked back three steps, a fist-sized indentation appearing on its abdomen, and a mouthful of black gas spewed from its mouth.
