Transmigrated into a female-oriented novel, and put an end to the domineering CEOs all over the city
Chapter 5 Capturing the Domineering CEO
The police car that had been chasing closely behind did not rush to follow.
The lead police car slowed down noticeably as it approached the intersection. The officer inside, watching the still-accelerating Mercedes ahead, could only manage a cold smile.
They all knew what was waiting for that Mercedes-Benz.
"Eject the tire deflation device!"
On the other side of the intersection, a traffic policeman who was already in position shouted.
Sure enough, less than fifty meters after the Mercedes drove out of the intersection, a metal nail plate more than ten meters long was suddenly ejected from a black square box placed on the roadside ahead.
The dense array of steel nails pointing upwards resembled a ferocious black centipede, instantly covering the entire lane.
The Mercedes didn't even have time to react.
"Swoosh—Bang—!"
The moment the wheel rolled over it, there was first a hissing sound of rubber being punctured and torn, followed by a muffled thud as the wheel rim smashed directly onto the steel nail.
Then came a series of chaotic "clanging and popping" sounds as the air in the tires deflated completely within a few dozen seconds.
The car suddenly lurched, and the steering began to drift uncontrollably.
The driver's face turned pale instantly.
He gripped the steering wheel tightly, feeling the resistance become unusually heavy. The car, as if drunk, began to carve erratic S-shapes on the road.
He instinctively slammed on the gas pedal, the engine roared in vain, but the car's speed not only did not increase, but it visibly decreased.
He glanced at the dial in despair.
The tire pressure monitoring readings are dropping rapidly, and several tire icons are simultaneously flashing a glaring red warning.
"Young Master!" the driver's voice trembled, "The tires... are all flat... the car won't move for at most half a minute!"
In the back seat, Lin Yutang instinctively reached out and grabbed the front seat as soon as the car started to sway.
The sirens outside grew closer and closer, until she could see the reflective vests on the officers through the car window.
Her fingers slowly tightened, and a surge of heat rose in her chest.
I can't move.
These words, spoken by the driver, sounded to her like a rope hanging down from above.
That was a life-saving rope.
In the passenger seat, Trish's usually calm expression finally changed.
He whirled around to look at the bodyguard in the back seat who was on the phone, and asked quickly, "Is it all sorted out over there?"
The man in the back seat who had been on the phone put it down, his face equally grim: "Young Master, the CEO said... he's making calls to coordinate things, and he wants us to avoid a direct confrontation with the police and wait for his message."
Let's avoid conflict first?
Trish looked out the car window. Police cars had surrounded them again from behind, and further away, vehicles with flashing lights were approaching.
He took two deep breaths, his chest heaving, then turned his head and looked at Lin Yutang's face.
The car had come to a complete stop.
Police cars surrounded the vehicle one after another, blocking every possible escape route.
Special agents in black uniforms and police officers in blue uniforms had gotten out of their vehicles and were bending over, holding weapons, as they approached the Mercedes step by step.
The red and blue lights of the police lights shone through the car window, illuminating half of Trish's face, his expression shifting between light and shadow.
"Lin Yutang," he said in a low voice, but enunciating each word clearly, "if you were in there and said something you shouldn't have..."
He paused, trying to control his emotions, his tone laced with threat: "I'll make you regret this for the rest of your life."
After he finished speaking, he turned his head away and stopped looking at her.
"The police station can't hold me."
Lin Yutang leaned back in the seat, listening to her heart pounding harder and harder.
Outside the window, the police officers' footsteps drew closer, and someone was shouting, the muffled sound coming through the car window.
She looked at the police cars and officers that had surrounded them, and then at Trish's unmoving profile.
A jumble of thoughts swirled in my mind.
What should she do?
"Everyone in the car! Get out immediately!"
The police's commands came from outside the car window.
Trish did not move immediately.
He gave Lin Yutang one last look, and the meaning of that look was very clear: remember what he had just said.
Then he looked away and instructed the two men in the back seat: "Have the lawyer come over as soon as possible. Get out of the car and don't resist."
After saying that, he reached out and pushed open the car door, his movements unhurried, as if he were getting out of a private car parked in front of the hotel.
Just as he stepped out of the car, the bodyguard in the back seat who was responsible for checking the license plate vibrated on his phone.
He pulled it out, glanced at it, and said quickly in a low voice, "Young Master, we found it. The person who reported it is named Lu Jingxiu, a third-year student majoring in Business Administration at Badu University."
Trish nodded and tucked the name into his mind.
He stood by the car, straightened his cuffs, raised his eyes, and coldly stared at the police officers who had surrounded him.
"Wait for my lawyer..."
He had only spoken half a sentence when, in the next second, several police officers stepped forward, grabbed his arms decisively, and pressed his upper body against the hood of the car.
Immediately afterwards, a pair of handcuffs were put on his wrists.
The June sun has been shining for so long that the surface of the hood is so hot you could fry an egg on it.
Trish's face was pressed against it, and the composure she had maintained since getting on the bus finally cracked briefly.
He instinctively tried to struggle, but couldn't move. A look of disbelief, confusion, and bewilderment flashed across his face.
They probably didn't expect the police officers from Xia Country to be so direct and brutal.
The other three weren't much better off.
The driver was pulled from the driver's seat and his hands were tied behind his back and pressed against the car door.
One bodyguard was pinned to the back of the car, and the other was pressed to the ground, as the sound of handcuffs snapping shut rang out one after another.
Not far away, next to the bright blue Aston Martin, Lu Jingxiu stood leaning against the car door with his hands in his pockets, watching the chaotic scene unfold, his face full of "this show was worth watching."
His gaze swept over the men being led away, lingering for a second longer on the face of the leader who had just been pressed against the hood of the car.
Hmm, he looks quite presentable.
Even if you're handsome, it's all for nothing now.
The suspects were escorted into police cars one by one, their hands tightly handcuffed.
Lin Yutang was escorted by two policewomen, one on each side, and led to another police car.
A number of passersby, drawn by the sirens, had gathered in a circle, pointing and gesturing with their phones.
She stood in front of the police car, her gaze sweeping around her, then past the crowd of onlookers, and was drawn to a bright blue sports car parked not far away.
The colors and style are so eye-catching, it's hard not to notice them.
A young man of average build was standing next to the car, leaning against the hood with his arms crossed and a relaxed expression on his face.
He was very handsome, the kind of handsome that was clean and neat, completely different from the gloomy and cold handsomeness of Trish.
"Comrade? Is there something you need?" The policewoman next to her noticed that she was standing still, followed her gaze, and asked.
"Oh, no, it's nothing." Lin Yutang hurriedly looked away, not daring to look again, and lowered her head to get into the back seat of the police car.
The car door closed, shutting out the noise and stares from outside.
She leaned back in her seat, burying her face in her crossed arms. Her heart was still racing, and her mind was a jumbled mess.
Is she safe?
It might just be temporary.
Trish's words were still replaying in her mind.
"The police can't hold me."
If someone else had said that, she might not have taken it seriously.
But that's Trish. She's been caught so many times, she knows all too well just how much power he wields.
Now that she's in police custody, what's next? Will she cooperate with the investigation and tell the police what happened to her in Germany? Or will she be too scared to say anything?
Did saying it really make a difference?
Her eyes were closed, and her breathing was erratic.
