A system notification rang in Su Mu's ears.

His experience bar jumped dramatically, from more than halfway through level eight to just over level nine.

He didn't look at the panel; his gaze shifted from the Ice Witch's corpse to the Fire Witch on the other side of the camp.

The people around were completely stunned.

Zhang Peng was leading the zebra, which was sneezing, but he didn't react.

There was only one thought in his mind... a level 12, purple quality, extraordinary monster, killed by Su Mu alone.

They didn't just drive them away, they killed them.

The body lay before him, its icy blue blood still flowing out, freezing the fallen leaves and soil into a lump of ice.

Wang Chen stood at the back of the crowd, his face pale. His legs were trembling, his teeth were chattering, and only one thought kept running through his mind... Don't provoke him, don't provoke him, don't provoke him.

He Lin stood at the edge of the crowd, her senses still active. She could feel the energy fluctuations within Su Mu's body... those fluctuations couldn't be described as "strong," they were something else entirely, like a higher-dimensional being descending upon this lower-dimensional world. All rules, all restrictions, all common sense were inapplicable to him.

"Level 12... Purple... Extraordinary..." someone murmured, their voice barely audible.

"Su Mu killed him all by himself..." another person chimed in, his voice carrying a lingering fear of surviving a close call.

"Who said he was a gigolo before?"

Who said he wouldn't even dare to make a move?

Who says he's inferior to Protoss?

No one answered.

Those who had previously mocked Su Mu now hung their heads, wishing they could disappear into the ground.

Proxiu stood on the south side of the defensive line, his wings folded, and the light blade dissipated in his palm.

His face was ashen, his fists clenched so tightly they cracked, his nails digging into his palms, leaving bloody marks.

His lips were bitten until they turned white, and it felt like a stone was stuck in his throat, preventing him from uttering a single word.

Only one thought kept running through his mind... How could this be?

How is that possible?

How could he possibly be a match for a level 12 purple superhuman monster?

How could he possibly be that much better than me?

He recalled his earlier mocking words to Su Mu, his words in front of everyone: "Su Mu, do you want to give it a try?", and the triumphant smile on his face as he carried the Minotaur King Sauta's battle axe.

His face stung as if he'd been slapped.

It felt like a huge rock was pressing on his chest, making it hard for him to breathe.

His eyes were fixed on Su Mu's back, on the spear that was still dripping with icy blue blood, and on the golden halo that danced on his skin.

Su Mu picked up a box that glowed with purple light from next to the Ice Witch's corpse.

The box had ice-blue patterns on its edges, which reflected a cold light in the firelight.

He opened the box, and there were two things inside.

The first item is a staff.

The staff is ice-blue and translucent, like a piece of millennia-old ice carved into the shape of a staff.

The staff has fine lines on its surface, and an icy blue light flows within the lines, like blood flowing in a vein.

The top of the staff is inlaid with a fist-sized, constantly rotating ice crystal. With each rotation of the ice crystal, the temperature in the air drops by one degree.

When Su Mu picked it up, a system notification popped up.

The second item is a scroll.

It's deep blue, with fine, crack-like patterns on the surface of the spool. It feels heavy and cool in your hand, like holding a piece of ice.

Su Mu unrolled the scroll, and a system notification popped up.

Su Mu put the two items into his backpack and turned to walk towards the Fire Witch.

Bai Liuxi was still locked in combat with the Fire Witch.

Her energy cleaved through the Fire Witch's shield, shattering it. The Fire Witch's body twisted in the flames for a moment before emerging from them, and the shield reformed.

Bai Liuxi's breathing was already somewhat rapid. Although most of the frost on her arms had receded, her fingers still couldn't move fully, and she had to use twice the force she usually did to swing her hand.

Old Wei's shield was completely destroyed; the cracks on its surface were as dense as a spider web. He kicked the shield away, picked up a piece of iron plate that had fallen from some vehicle, and held it up in front of him.

Zhao Cheng's Tang sword was covered in gravel and dust, and the blade was chipped. Several blisters had formed on his arm, but he did not back down.

Su Mu did not call out or greet him.

He cut in from the side of the Fire Witch, thrusting his spear towards her waist.

The Fire Witch reacted quickly; her body twisted in the flames as the spear tip grazed her side, slicing through her robes and skin, from which dark red blood seeped.

The Fire Witch let out a sharp screech, not of pain, but of rage.

She swung her staff at Su Mu, and a fireball flew from the tip of the staff, heading straight for Su Mu's face.

Su Mu did not dodge; the fireball exploded in front of him, engulfing him in flames.

The Fire Witch's lips parted in a grin, then her smile froze.

Because Su Mu walked out of the flames.

His clothes had several holes burned in them, and a few strands of his hair were singed, but his body was unharmed.

His parrying talent activated within him, and that invisible shield blocked all the damage from the fireball.

Bai Liuxi cooperated.

Her energy slashed directly at the Fire Witch's chest, but the Fire Witch's shield blocked the attack and shattered.

Her body twisted in the flames, preparing to reassemble her shield, but Su Mu's spear was already upon her.

The spear tip pierced her shoulder from the side. The fire witch's body writhed in the flames as the spear tip grazed her shoulder, leaving a gash.

Her shield was only half-formed when Bai Liuxi's energy arrived, shattering the shield.

Su Mu's spear arrived again, its tip aimed at her other shoulder.

The Fire Witch dodged left and right amidst the flames, but the speed at which her shield condensed couldn't keep up with the attack frequency of Bai Liuxi and Su Mu.

Bai Liuxi's energy cleaved through the shield, and Su Mu's spear pierced her body; Bai Liuxi's energy cleaved through the shield again, and Su Mu's spear pierced her body once more.
