Lin Yuwei neither put it down nor handed it to anyone else. She simply slung the backpack over her chest and used her hand to shield the little creature's head so it could see the road ahead.

There were no giants in the dense forest. Those colossal creatures that roamed the city ruins were nowhere to be seen. But other monsters began to appear.

The goblins jumped down from the treetops. They were a size larger than the ones Su Mu had encountered in Peace Town, and their skin wasn't the usual green, but a deeper, moss-like dark green.

They swung down from the branches, carrying stone axes and wooden clubs, like a group of monkeys weaving through the canopy. The minotaurs charged out from behind the tree trunks, smaller than the ones outside, but faster, with sharper horns and dark red eyes like two balls of burning coals in the darkness.

The cat demon moved through the bushes, its dark red fur flashing through the shadows of the trees, moving so fast that most people could only see a blurry afterimage.

The zombies crawled through the leaf litter; their skin was grayish-white, blending seamlessly with the color of the surrounding tree trunks, making them almost indistinguishable without close inspection. They moved slowly, but were numerous, scattered densely throughout the forest like carelessly discarded chess pieces.

When they first entered the dense forest, the monsters were not high-level, mostly level three or four, with the occasional level five mixed in. But as the team ventured deeper into the forest, the monsters' levels gradually increased. Level five became the norm, level six was not uncommon, and level seven occasionally appeared.

Su Mu only made a move occasionally. He only dealt with zombies. Zombies were generally low-level, making them easy to kill—one shot, one kill, clean and efficient. His spear flashed among the shadows of the trees, the tip precisely piercing a zombie's head. Dark green blood spurted from the wound, splashing onto the fallen leaves with a sizzling sound.

He didn't use any skills, didn't activate his golden bloodline, and didn't even make any unnecessary movements. He simply stood there, waiting for the zombies to approach, then thrust his spear out, retracted it, thrust it out again, and retracted it again. Like a worker repeating the same action on an assembly line.

Prosci watched Su Mu from a short distance away, his lips twitching slightly... not a smile, but a more complex expression, like watching a joke. He only killed zombies. The lowest level, the most insignificant, the least challenging zombies.

He didn't touch any of the other monsters... goblins, minotaurs, cat demons... They just ran past him without him even glancing at them.

"He's picking on the weak," a teammate of Prosci said in a low voice.

Prosciutto didn't reply, but a smile played on his lips. He leaped down from the tree, his wings unfurling behind him, pure white as snow, like a spotlight shining through the dim forest.

Instead of killing the zombies, he walked towards a group of minotaurs that were charging the military's defensive line. The minotaurs were between level six and seven, the largest of which was at least two meters tall, with horns like two curved scimitars, and hooves that dug deep furrows in the ground.

Prosci didn't use a beam of light. He clasped his hands together, and a golden blade of light extended from his palms, like a longsword formed from condensed light. He was so fast that the minotaurs had no time to react. The blade of light sliced across the neck of the first minotaur, and its head rolled off its body. Dark green blood gushed from its neck cavity like a small fountain.

The second minotaur turned to run, but Proshu's figure had already swept past it from the side, the blade of light slicing through its chest, its heart split in two. The third minotaur raised its stone axe and swung it down at him, but he didn't dodge; instead, he met it head-on. The blade of light slashed upwards, cleaving the stone axe in two, splitting the minotaur's body in two, the two halves falling to the left and right.

The people around them started praising again.

"Prosci is too strong!"

"An S-level rating really makes a difference!"

"Look at that Su Mu, all he does is kill zombies, he's nowhere near as good as Proxiu."

Prosci heard the murmurs. His lips curled into a wider smile, and he spread his wings slightly, like a peacock displaying its plumage. He turned and glanced in Su Mu's direction. Su Mu was crouching on the ground, using his spear to push aside fallen leaves, searching for a zombie hiding underneath.

Proshu withdrew his gaze, folded his wings, and continued walking towards the next group of monsters. His steps remained elegant, unhurried, and leisurely, but his speed was now considerably faster than before.

Su Mu did not look at Proxiu.

He heard the discussions, the sounds of battle and exclamations from Proxiu's side, but his expression remained unchanged. He crouched down, his spear plucked a zombie from beneath the fallen leaves, the tip piercing its eye socket and skull, then withdrew. He stood up and continued walking. Lin Xiaohe stood behind him, watching his retreating figure, her lips moving slightly, but she said nothing.

She heard the comments... some mocked, some were disappointed, some were disdainful, and some gloated. Her brow furrowed slightly, but quickly relaxed. She believed Su Mu, believed he had his reasons.

Lin Yuwei was also listening to those discussions.

She looked down at the silver-white cub in her backpack. The silver-spotted leopard cub was staring at her with its amber eyes, its gaze filled with a bewildered expression, as if asking, "What are those people saying?" Lin Yuwei didn't explain; she simply hugged the backpack tighter.

Chen Jun, at the back of the group, carried a bulging backpack and a bag of things in his hand, remaining silent. He heard the whispers and saw Su Mu's reaction. He didn't stop walking, his gaze unwavering, silently thinking to himself: These people don't know how strong Brother Su is. Once they find out, they won't be laughing anymore.

Prosci moved swiftly through the dense forest, his wings deftly adjusting their angle among the treetops, each dive taking the life of a monster.

His light blade traced golden arcs in the darkness, like a brush wielding ink on rice paper, each stroke landing in the most exquisite place. His fighting stance was elegant yet deadly, like a meticulously choreographed solo dance.

Su Mu walked through the dense forest at a steady pace, his spear flashing through the shadows of the trees, each strike taking down a zombie. He didn't have the flashy special effects of Proxiu, no golden blades, no snow-white wings.

He just stayed there, walked, stopped, stabbed, withdrew, and walked again. Like a farmer planting rice seedlings in a field.
