"Has anyone gone down? What's the situation down there?"

"I looked down, and it was full of monsters! So many of them, I was too scared to go down!"

"What should we do? We have to land at least once today, otherwise we won't even have any landing attempts tomorrow."

"Any expert willing to mentor me? I'm willing to hand over all my supplies!"

"Brother Zhou is organizing people, everyone should sign up! It's better to follow the group than to wander off on your own!"

"The Talented Ones Guild is also recruiting, but they only accept those with talent. Ordinary people should go find Brother Zhou."

Panic, confusion, banding together for survival. Exactly the same as a few days ago.

Su Mu watched for a while, then turned off the channel.

He understood their fear. Looking down from a hundred meters above, the city was filled with monsters; anyone would feel their legs go weak. But he couldn't help them... He wasn't even sure if he'd make it back alive, so how could he care about others?

He turned his gaze back to the window, observing the city's topography.

The cable car glided slowly above Ash City, circling along the city's edge. Su Mu noticed a pattern... the cable car's trajectory wasn't a straight line, but rather it drew circle after circle above the city.

He would pass through some areas repeatedly, while others he would only pass through once. He looked at the map, then at the window, and roughly understood.

The cable car "hovers" over Ash City, rather than "traverses" it. It circles within a certain area until the 72-hour shutdown ends, or until all survivors have completed their forced drop.

This explains why the location of yesterday's intelligence report... the abandoned gas station... wasn't far from his current cable car. He had originally thought the cable car had traveled at least dozens of kilometers overnight, but now it seemed it had just been circling the city.

Su Mu marked the locations of two intelligence reports on the map.

Ash University is located in the northeast of the city, about sixteen kilometers from his current cable car.

The zoo is located 53 kilometers southwest of the city.

Sixteen kilometers, not far.

But judging from the current situation, the cable car won't pass directly above the university; he'll need to land at the right time and then walk over.

The cable car passed over a relatively low cluster of buildings, which, according to the map, was the edge of Ash University.

He looked down and could clearly see the outline of the school... several teaching buildings, a library, several rows of dormitory buildings, and a playground.

But the most eye-catching thing is not these buildings.

It was a wall.

The school wall was covered with dense vines. These weren't ordinary ivy... they were incredibly thick, each one as thick as an adult's arm, with layers of emerald green stems and leaves that completely enveloped the wall.

Some vines hung down from the top of the wall, swaying gently in the wind, like green snakes.

Su Mu stared at the vines, his brows furrowing slightly.

Is this a unique feature of the school?

He looked ahead a little longer. The cable car passed the general area where the treasure chest was located... According to the map, the golden treasure chest was not directly under the cable car, but rather in the eastern part of the school, near the student dormitory area.

He saw that area.

Something is moving in the open space between the dormitory buildings.

They weren't large in size, but there were many of them, densely packed together, making it impossible to see exactly what they were. Further away, next to a building on the edge of the dormitory area, there was a huge, blurry figure.

Su Mu's pupils contracted slightly.

That level eight monster should be there.

He didn't rush to land. The cable car continued on, passing the school grounds and entering a commercial area. The streets were lined with various shops...restaurants, supermarkets, clothing stores, hotels. The density of monsters was much lower than near the school; at least, he didn't see large groups gathered within his field of vision.

Su Mu's gaze was fixed on a building.

It was a hotel, about ten stories high, with a flat rooftop platform offering a wide view and no taller buildings around.

Go down from the rooftop to enter the hotel, then exit through the side door and walk along the street towards the school.

Moreover... there are no monsters on the rooftop.

Su Mu looked carefully for a few seconds, confirmed that there was nothing wrong, and then pressed the landing button.

The cable car doors opened, revealing a purplish-black vortex.

He took a deep breath, gripped the M500 tightly, and stepped inside.

The moment the feeling of weightlessness subsided, Su Mu had already raised his gun.

Before his vision was fully clear, the sound of the wind and sporadic roars from afar rushed in. He quickly scanned his surroundings... The rooftop platform was empty, except for a few abandoned air conditioner units and a pile of construction debris; there was nothing there.

Safety.

Su Mu lowered his gun, walked to the edge of the platform, and glanced down. The hotel's exterior was a glass curtain wall, gleaming coldly in the morning light. The street below was deserted... no, there were monsters, but they were at least two or three hundred meters away and wouldn't affect him for the time being.

He opened the system panel to check the location of the retreat point. Just like the one marked on the map, there was only one, in the northwest corner of the city, about forty kilometers away.

Forty kilometers.

Su Mu frowned.

This means he has to walk forty kilometers through Ash City today to get back to the cable car.

And that's only considering the straight-line distance... The city is full of monsters and ruins, so the actual walking distance is at least twice as long.

Eighty kilometers.

With his current speed and stamina, eighty kilometers is not a problem. The problem is time... He must get back to the cable car before dark. There are only a dozen or so hours in the daytime, and he has to walk eighty kilometers, explore the school, find treasure chests, and deal with monsters along the way.

This is almost impossible to accomplish.

Unless... there is transportation in the city.

Su Mu suppressed this thought and continued to observe.

Just then, he felt something else appear in his field of vision.

It wasn't a specific image, but a vague perception... like an invisible map unfolding in his mind, marking detailed information about the surrounding area.

He closed his eyes and carefully felt it.
