After a long silence, Yu Luoning sighed softly, turned her head, and looked at the void in front of her. "Some things are just not suitable to be investigated too deeply."

Li Yunyu did not answer.

He remained silent for a long time, so long that Yu Luoning thought he wasn't going to speak.

"Let's go."

Yu Luoning stared at his retreating figure, stunned for a moment.

Then he quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

Thankfully, they didn't ask any further questions.

The two continued walking for a long time, and Yu Luoning grew impatient.

She said sullenly, "Don't you find it strange? We seem to be going in circles. We can't keep walking aimlessly like this, can we?"

Before the words were finished, deep within the fog...

Suddenly, footsteps sounded—not just one, but a whole group, a large group emerging from the depths of the mist. The figures were indistinct, varied in appearance, and moved with incredible speed.

Yu Luoning subconsciously took a few steps back. Then she suddenly remembered that the spell she had copied, "Drawing a Circle on the Ground to Imprison," had the function of immunity to soul damage.

But to use his family's secret techniques in front of the person in question?

In the brief moment of hesitation, Li Yunyu reached out and slowly pulled away the white silk covering his eyes, revealing his gray-white eyes that appeared exceptionally calm in the mist.

The Yin-Yang Eyes can see through the deficiency of Yin and the excess of Yang.

"Don't be afraid, these are all ghosts."

As he spoke, he subtly pulled Yu Luoning into his arms.

The next second, a wave of energy erupted from around him, blocking all the approaching yin spirits from entering.

Yu Luoning did not struggle, not because she did not want to, but because these vengeful spirits were outside, and it would not be wise to move around at this time.

She peeked half her head out from Li Yunyu's embrace. She glanced back...

These spirits didn't seem to intend to attack them, and their main force was moving in a surprisingly uniform direction.

The fog will temporarily dissipate along the path they have traveled, revealing the road ahead.

Yu Luoning stared at it for a moment, and a thought popped into her mind.

Yu Luoning: "Look at them, they're all heading in that direction. Instead of wandering aimlessly, why don't we follow them?"

Li Yunyu glanced down at her, said nothing, and pursed his lips softly.

That's considered a fulfillment.

He embraced her, transformed into a streak of light, and followed the trail of the wandering spirit silently.

The two did not speak along the way, but Li Yunyu kept his arms around her tightly.

Never mind, I don't have to walk myself, I'll just consider it a ride.

I followed the ghostly spirit for an unknown amount of time until I reached an end, the center of a maze-like formation.

One by one, the ghosts leaped into a deep vortex ahead, only to be torn apart and vanish.

The vortex appeared to be very close, but in reality, it was impossible to touch it.

It was as if there was an invisible barrier around us.

Once the ghosts had finished dancing,

Yu Luoning then stepped out of Li Yunyu's arms, took two steps forward, and carefully examined the vortex.

Something seemed to be glowing at the center of the vortex.

Yu Luoning's eyes lit up immediately. Based on her years of experience reading novels, she knew there must be a magic weapon at the center of the vortex.

"Look, there seems to be something at the center of that vortex."

"And those ghosts are really strange. Why do they keep trying to get inside? They know they'll just disappear once they go in, yet they keep coming one after another."

"Do you think it might be that thing that's attracting them?"

Li Yunyu: "Your guess is not impossible."

"This vortex contains profound Daoist principles of Nirvana, which have the power to transform all things. It naturally attracts wandering spirits."

Yu Luoning glanced back at him, thinking to herself that Li Yunyu was indeed a cultivator of the Dao of Nirvana, as he could even sense this.

She couldn't sense any of the Daoist techniques of Nirvana at all.

Li Yunyu added, "The thing in that vortex is probably the key to opening the palace gates."

Yu Luoning asked, puzzled, "How did you know?"

"intuition."

Yu Luoning: "..."

Well, a cultivator's intuition is sometimes more accurate than any deduction, especially since this is the cave of a great master of the Nirvana Path. Shouldn't we make an exception for our fellow cultivators?

"Wait here, I'll go get the key," Li Yunyu said.

"Wait a minute," Yu Luoning took half a step forward, saying with concern:

"But this distance from the center of the vortex looks close, but we don't know how far it actually is. And the suction force at the center of the vortex is so strong, how would you get out if you went in?"

"Give it a try."

"Try it? You think this is an experiment? A chance to start over?"

Li Yunyu did not answer immediately, but looked at her gently and suddenly smiled.

Suddenly, a particularly captivating light flashed in those greyish-white eyes.

Are you worried about me?

Yu Luoning glared at him. "Of course I'm worried. What if you don't come back? Wouldn't I be stuck here?"

Li Yunyu was not angry when he heard this.

He actually raised his hand and gently pinched her cheek with his long, slender fingers.

"Don't worry! I have Foundation Establishment cultivation and a Yin-Yang Dao Body, I won't leave you alone."

Yu Luoning lowered her head.

It felt like something had quietly fallen into a calm lake, causing ripples to spread outwards in circles; I couldn't quite describe the feeling.

Soon, the feeling disappeared completely.

She thought to herself: You're nothing more than a tool for me to refresh my skills.

The techniques have all been copied. From now on, we'll go our separate ways. I'm still thinking about how to shake you off.

"Hey, watch out."

Yu Luoning sighed. After all, they had been husband and wife for a short time, and she still hoped that the other party could survive.

Li Yunyu paused for a moment.

The corners of his mouth slowly curved upwards, curving to an angle he couldn't see. He paused for a moment, then took another step and flew towards the vortex.

After an unknown amount of time, Li Yunyu finally flew to the center of the vortex.

Using this suction force, he moved exceptionally fast.

The moment he turned around after receiving the token, the suction force at the bottom of the vortex suddenly surged. It was as if an invisible hand was pulling him down relentlessly.

White mist surged in in clumps and bundles, wrapping around his wrists and ankles.

His outer robe was torn to shreds, revealing his lean upper body muscles, and his hair was disheveled, his dark hair flying wildly in the turbulent water.

Yu Luoning stood at a distance and could see everything clearly.

This is bad. If this continues, Li Yunyu will eventually be dragged down by this force.

She quickly went through everything in her mind.

Li Yunyu flew to the center of the vortex. This distance had a track, so he was constantly being pulled by the suction force.

However, my own Sky-Crossing Technique is different. The Sky-Crossing Technique is between two points; it disappears here and reappears there, without any trajectory or process in between.

Naturally, it will not be affected by that suction force.

Having figured it out, Yu Luoning didn't hesitate at all. She formed hand seals, and a purple aura condensed at her fingertips, flowing in the air and forming a circle.

The next instant, the purple circle on the other end appeared out of thin air in front of Li Yunyu.

"catch!"

Before she finished speaking, Yu Luoning's hand had already reached out from the purple light, appearing hundreds of miles away, at the center of the vortex, and in front of Li Yunyu.

Li Yunyu was stunned for a moment.

Those greyish-white eyes paused slightly, as if they had seen something unbelievable.
