Three times married to Yama

Chapter 41 Being Controlled in a Dream

"Don't worry," I reassured you. "Now that I'm here, nothing can hurt you."

Yun Fu, standing to the side, let out a sneer, and her contemptuous gaze made my fists hard.

But now is not the time to slap him. I told Sister Jiang and Wang Jiancheng to go home first. I won't go back tonight either. I'll stay at their house and see what's going on.

When we returned to Sister Jiang's house, her son Jiahao was limping out, tears welling up in his eyes. He quickly wiped away his tears when he saw us return.

"Mom and Dad, where did you go in the middle of the night?! You scared me to death!"

Sister Jiang didn't tell Jiahao about the child in her dream, afraid of scaring him, so she planned to continue to keep tonight's events a secret.

"Your dad was sleepwalking, I went to look for him," Sister Jiang replied. "You should go back inside quickly, your leg isn't healed yet."

Jiahao nodded, but when he saw me and Yunfu, his eyes were full of doubt. "Didn't Sister Ayin go home? Why are you here too?"

I remained calm and replied, "We're here to help you find your father."

He glanced at Yun Fu, who had a sour expression, his confusion deepening. "Why does the brother next to you seem different from the one from earlier in the day..."

I remained calm. "That's right, it's different. The older brother is busier during the day, so we had a different one. Okay, it's chilly outside late at night, let's go inside."

As I helped Wang Jiancheng into the house, I saw torn talismans on the ground outside the door. I knew without looking that these were the talismans I had given them.

I looked at Sister Jiang, "Sister Jiang, aren't you going to explain? I gave you the talisman to stick on the door, how did it turn into shredded paper?"

Sister Jiang was also bewildered. She stared blankly at the torn talisman paper on the ground. "I don't know! I clearly pasted the talisman paper on the door, but... but how did the talisman paper get torn to pieces and thrown on the ground?"

Wang Jiancheng also looked bewildered, "I saw my wife put it on, how could this happen?"

I had Yunfu check the rest of the doors, whether it was the main door, the back door, or the bedroom doors in each room. The talismans that should have been pasted on them were all on the ground and torn to pieces.

Ghosts couldn't possibly touch my talisman; the only possibility is that it was done by a person.

I asked, "After you put up the talisman, has anyone come to your house?"

"No," Sister Jiang replied firmly.

Since no one has come here, the only person who could have torn down these talismans is Sister Jiang's family.

Wang Jiahao, who had been listening to our conversation, suddenly asked, "Sister Yin, are you asking who tore off the talisman?"

"You know?" I looked at Wang Jiahao.

Wang Jiahao nodded quickly, "I know, I saw it, my mom tore it off."

Was it Sister Jiang who tore it?

However, judging from Sister Jiang's confused and frightened appearance, she had no recollection of tearing up any talisman paper.

"Jiahao, don't scare your mother. When did your mother ever tear off talismans?" Sister Jiang asked in a trembling voice.

Upon hearing what Sister Jiang said, Wang Jiahao's expression changed instantly. "Mom, don't scare me. I clearly saw it. Around 10 p.m., you said you were going to sleep, but a little while later you came out and started tearing up the talismans. I saw it when I got up to go to the bathroom. I called you, but you didn't answer me."

Sister Jiang looked at me, her face deathly pale. "Master Yin, am I sleepwalking too...?"

Based on what Wang Jiahao said, that seems to be the case.

The Dream Beggar Ghost lurks in Sister Jiang's dreams. It appears in her dreams after she falls asleep and can even control her body.

The talisman must have been torn down by the Dream Beggar Ghost, who manipulated Sister Jiang to do so. After all the talismans were destroyed, it slipped from Sister Jiang's dream into Wang Jiancheng's dream and then controlled Wang Jiancheng to go out and eat grave soil.

The reason why the begging ghost did this is because he had previously asked for a living person, but Sister Jiang did not give him one.

How the hell am I supposed to give this to?

Regardless, let's lure the beggar ghost out of the dream first.

"Sister Jiang, I need you to prepare some chicken blood and boiled eggs. We'll need them later," I said to them.

Sister Jiang was terrified by this. She hurriedly asked Wang Jiancheng to kill the chicken while she went to boil the eggs.

While we waited, Yunfu and I stood in the spacious courtyard. Yunfu glanced at me sideways and asked, "Master, are you trying to lure out the Dream Beggar Ghost?"

"Obviously, what, do you have some brilliant idea?" I glanced at him sideways as well.

Yun Fu lowered her eyes slightly. "How about we make a deal?"

"No." I refused outright.

To put it bluntly, I know what he's up to the moment he sticks his butt out; he's definitely after the Three Pure Bells.

Seeing how readily I refused, Yun Fu simply snorted coldly, "You are truly an annoying woman."

I looked at him and sneered in return, "You're the same, even as a corpse you're still so disgusting."

At first, my impression of Yun Fu wasn't this bad, but after spending time with him these past few times, my impression of him has only gotten worse.

I ignored Yun Fu and sat quietly in the courtyard watching the stars in the sky.

Before long, Sister Jiang had cooked the eggs, and Wang Jiancheng brought over a bowl of chicken blood.

Everything is ready; it's time to lure the snake out of its hole.
