Summer Green Apples

Chapter 71 Brother and Sister

A new tea-smoked chicken restaurant recently opened in the cafeteria.

The taste is absolutely amazing. Although it's a new shop, it has already become a favorite among students. There are long queues at lunchtime or in the evening, and sometimes the supply can't keep up with demand.

Xu Jiyang especially liked it and would always run back, always dragging his best friend along.

Ji Xiwen had only been in line once.

Neither she nor Luo Wenjing nor Zhang Qingyan are the type to rush to the cafeteria just for a meal.

The three of them took their time, as usual, to get to the cafeteria on the first floor.

Zhang Qingyan: "What are you eating?"

Luo Wenjing: "Boxed lunches, please."

Ji Xiwen wandered around for a bit, not really interested in anything, and said, "A boxed lunch, please."

After the three of them finished queuing to buy their boxed lunches, they started looking for seats.

After wandering around for a while, Luo Wenjing, with her sharp eyes, noticed an empty table over there.

"Let's go." Zhang Qingyan took the lead and walked in the direction Luo Wenjing pointed.

Just as the three of them passed by, another person carrying a plate slid over as if wearing skateboards and plopped down on the floor.

The three people: "…………"

Xu Jiyang said with a smile, "Whoever sits first gets to sit, right?"

Zhang Qingyan scoffed, ignored him, and sat down directly opposite him.

Xu Jiyang: "What are you doing?"

He drawled out his words, his tone almost like he was begging, which ironically made him seem less offensive.

"Nothing much, just eating." Zhang Qingyan waved to Ji Xiwen and Luo Wenjing again.

The two exchanged a glance and sat down next to Zhang Qingyan.

The tables at Pingzhong can generally seat four people, and the chairs come in light colors like pink, yellow, green, and blue, with sturdy backrests.

The tables on both sides are against the wall, while the tables in the middle area are all placed together, with four tables in a row. Small groups of people usually sit in the middle.

This table is now in the middle area.

It's just on the very edge.

Facing three girls alone, Xu Jiyang felt incredibly helpless and weak. "No, I still have a bunch of brothers..."

Zhang Qingyan: "There's enough room."

Xu Jiyang turned his head and glanced at it. "Okay."

He started happily eating rice.

Chi Sui spotted Xu Jiyang sitting with three girls from afar.

From his angle, he could only see the girl's back.

He recognized Ji Xiwen, who had her hair tied in a ponytail, at a glance.

Her hair was very soft and smooth, not particularly thick, with a light blue hair tie and no other embellishments. Her head was rounded from sleeping, and her neck was slender and white.

Li Junyu clearly didn't recognize him and clicked her tongue, "Xu Jiyang is at it again, sitting with some pretty girl."

Xu Jiyang had done it a few times before, but he only behaved himself after being taught a lesson by Chi Sui.

Li Junyu pointed to a spot and said, "There are still empty tables over there, let's go there."

"No need," Chi Sui said. "I think that spot is just fine."

Li Junyu: "???"

His forehead was full of question marks.

Watching Chi Sui carry the plate towards Xu Jiyang's direction.

Has this been a case of possession?

Chi then took the plate and sat down to the side.

When Xu Jiyang saw him, he felt a little guilty and rubbed the tip of his nose. "Well... I saw my sister when I came out, so I came over."

He felt that Chi Sui cared a lot about this younger sister, so he probably wouldn't get so angry if Ji Xiwen was mentioned.

"……oh."

Chi responded and took a sip of the lemonade.

Ji Xiwen was right across from him.

Li Junyu, who arrived late, put down the plate and let out a long sigh before sitting down. "I'm really impressed. You must be a master of face-changing."

Chi then pretended not to hear.

His gaze inadvertently drifted to the opposite side.

Ji Xiwen was probably looking at Li Junyu, but she didn't know what he was saying, so she looked at this and that.

Finally, he looked at Chi Sui.

The two exchanged a glance, then lowered their heads and began to work.

Chi Sui remained calm and took another sip of lemonade.

There was a lot of ice in it, which made him shiver and gasp.

Hearing the noise, Ji Xi quietly raised her head to look at him again.

"What's wrong with you?"

"without."

Chi Sui naturally wouldn't admit that his teeth had been frozen; that would be too embarrassing.

Young Master Chi was already carrying a heavy burden, let alone in front of the girl he liked.

Seeing that he didn't say anything, Ji Xi didn't ask any more questions. She just said "Oh" and obediently lowered her head to eat.

Chi Sui stared at her plate: three vegetarian dishes, one stir-fried mung bean sprouts, one stir-fried broccoli, and one scrambled eggs with tomatoes, with very few eggs.

He frowned slightly between his brows.

No wonder she's so thin.

He pushed the untouched tea-smoked chicken to the front center. "Want some?"

Ji Xiwen shook her head, "I won't eat it. I ate it last time and it didn't taste good."

Chi then pushed the tea-smoked chicken back.

He vaguely sensed something was wrong. He turned his head and saw four people staring at the two of them. Xu Jiyang was a simpleton, so he couldn't tell anything from their expressions.

Li Junyu, however, is a shrewd individual.

His expression was particularly intriguing.

Zhang Qingyan's expression was similar to Li Junyu's, both meaningful.

The man next to her, whose name she couldn't recall, was also staring blankly, just like Xu Jiyang.

"What are you looking at?" He kicked Xu Jiyang under the table.

Xu Jiyang hissed, "What's wrong? I just didn't expect that you, this heartless skinflint, would be so considerate as an older brother."

Ji Xiwen: "..."

Redefining "thoughtfulness".

Chi Sui used to think that Xu Jiyang lacked discernment, but now he thinks he's quite good.

At least when this idiot speaks, he leads everyone to think in the direction of brother and sister.

"……Um."

He reluctantly agreed and took a bite of food.

"Why are you here so early?"

As He Ran spoke, he pulled out the chair next to Chi Sui and sat down.

Cui Kai, dressed in sportswear, followed leisurely behind him.

He patted Xu Jiyang on the shoulder, "Go sit over there."

Xu Jiyang was sitting between his two good friends, Li Junyu and Chi Sui. He felt he was a hot commodity and directly refused, "No."

"Hurry up," Cui Kai said. "What gives you the right to sit across from my girlfriend?"

Xu Jiyang: "…………"

"It's alright, it's alright." Zhang Qingyan stood up. "Wenwen, let's switch seats."

Ji Xiwen: "Okay."

Zhang Qingyan moved to a seat on the side, where there was an empty seat. Cui Kai then smugly ran over and sat down next to Zhang Qingyan.

He Ran's gaze swept over Ji Xiwen's beautiful face, then he quickly leaned close to Chi Sui's ear and asked, "Hey, does that pretty girl you've been looking at have a boyfriend?"

"No." Chi Sui stared at him. "...What are you going to do?"

"I didn't do anything." He Ran stared at him, puzzled. He wondered why he looked like a wicked man being targeted by someone who coveted his girlfriend. "I have a girlfriend. I was just asking."

Chi Sui: "..."

He Ran clicked his tongue again, "You wouldn't happen to be a secret siscon, would you?"

Xu Jiyang is a big mouth.

Ever since he found out that Chi Sui's deskmate was his adopted sister, all his close friends knew about it.

But it's limited to just these few people.

Anyway, Cui Kai found out, and after Cui Kai found out, Zhang Qingyan found out too.

Zhang Qingyan was a little surprised and asked Ji Xiwen to confirm.

Luo Wenjing was also present.

Ji Xi heard that the news came from Cui Kai's side and that it wasn't her problem, so she breathed a sigh of relief and stopped hiding it.

She hadn't originally intended to keep it a secret.

Chi Sui made a three-point agreement with her.
