Summer Green Apples

Chapter 56 WeChat

"That's good."

Ji Xi breathed a sigh of relief and focused on playing with the director.

Chi Sui hooked the bag around his arm, but his gaze was fixed on her profile.

Half a minute later, as if realizing his gaze had been too direct and inappropriate, he coughed to cover it up, "Why didn't you go shopping with them?"

"I don't want to go."

Ji Xiwen pinched the director's ear.

"Why?" Chi Sui was genuinely puzzled.

Logically speaking, children should miss their parents.

He thought Ji Xiwen would stick close to her parents, since it was a rare opportunity for them to see each other.

"Let's just maintain this polite, unfamiliar relationship." Ji Xiwen was rubbing the director's chin, and the director squinted his eyes comfortably, a smile playing on her lips.

This statement, however, reveals a kind of ruthlessness.

"Don't have any unnecessary relationships."

Ji Xiwen seemed like an easy person to talk to; in Chi Sui's words, he was submissive and accepting of whatever came his way.

That's because she doesn't care about many things.

Deep down, she is actually a very stubborn and meticulous person with a strong sense of order.

In her view, her parents and younger brother were just guests she saw once a year. She neither blamed her parents for being biased nor for being cold to her.

Since they are guests, shopping is beyond their authority.

Chi Sui was taken aback.

On the afternoon of the 5th, the plane arrived in Pingcheng at 3 pm.

It was a sunny day. When I came out of the terminal, the warm sunshine shone on me, as if it could completely thaw the continuous overcast skies of Jijiacun.

Back at Huayue Bay, the house was exactly as it had been before I left, and the housekeeper had cleaned it spotless.

Chi Sui was the most tired, especially after the bumpy journey from bus to plane. He felt that he smelled bad, so he went back to his room to take a shower first.

Having nothing to do and not feeling sleepy, Ji Xiwen took out a brand new set of test papers and went to the small study next door to do the test papers.

She spent two days completing the National Day homework assigned by her teacher.

At 4 p.m. the day before school started, Ji Xiwen left home on time.

She arranged to meet Luo Wenjing at the subway station entrance.

Luo Wenjing arrived before her, standing under an ancient tree with a lollipop in her mouth, squinting as she looked towards the station entrance.

As soon as Ji Xiwen came out, she saw her and waved excitedly at her.

Luo Wenjing showed no reaction and continued searching around, as if looking for someone.

Ji Xiwen walked up to her and waved again.

Luo Wenjing suddenly took a step back, "Xixi?!"

Her face showed undisguised surprise as she looked Ji Xiwen up and down.

"Why are you so surprised?" Ji Xiwen smiled. "Don't you recognize me?"

"I... I really didn't recognize him."

Luo Wenjing exclaimed in surprise, "You got bangs? These bangs suit you so well, you look really beautiful. I glanced at you when you came out, but I was too shy to look any longer, so I didn't dare to look again."

"You have such a sweet tongue."

Ji Xiwen took her hand. "My bangs were too long before, so I thought I'd just cut them shorter so they could stay that way for a long time."

"How is that possible?"

Luo Wenjing said, "Your bangs need to be trimmed often, they won't look good if they grow a little longer, but... with your looks, you'd look good even with a shaved head."

"Let's wait and see when it grows longer," Ji Xiwen said with a smile.

The two huddled together and began sharing what they had done during the National Day holiday.

The club where we had this dinner is quite close to the subway station, only a ten-minute walk away.

Before they arrived, Zhang Qingyan told them in the group chat that quite a few people were coming to visit.

Even though Ji Xiwen was prepared, she was still taken aback when she entered the private room.

The private room is very large, with karaoke, card games, and some small games that are often played at parties. There is a large table in the middle and sofas on both sides.

Some people were sitting on the sofa eating and chatting, some were singing into the microphone, and others were standing by the window making phone calls. There were about twenty people scattered around.

When the door to the private room opened, everyone inside fell silent for a moment and looked towards the doorway.

Xu Jiyang was struggling with Li Junyu for the microphone when he heard the door open and looked over.

He thought it was that annoying guy surnamed Chi who had finally arrived, and he was just about to tease him when he was surprised to find out that it was two girls.

The girl on the left wearing overalls looks familiar; she's a quiet and well-behaved girl in their class.

another……

When Xu Jiyang's gaze fell on her, he was completely stunned.

She wore a light pink sweatshirt with white cotton trousers, her hair was tied in a ponytail, and her wisps of hair on her forehead were slightly messy from the wind. She looked a little reserved, but her face was pure and beautiful.

She was rather thin, as if a gust of wind could easily blow her away.

"I'll go."

Xu Jiyang whispered to Li Junyu, "I've met Sui Sui's ideal type. I like him too, and I want to add him on WeChat."

Li Junyu glanced up and saw that Zhang Qingyan had already gone to meet them. The three girls were chatting happily together.

He looked away, paused for a few seconds, and then asked, "Don't you recognize me?"

"What do you mean?" Xu Jiyang was taken aback. "You know him? Actually, I also feel like we look familiar, but I just can't remember where I've seen him before."

"It's not that I think she looks familiar, but think about it, Zhang Qingyan is usually quite solitary in class, she basically only hangs out with two people, and she probably only hangs out with these two people..." Li Junyu stopped there.

Xu Jiyang suddenly realized, "You mean this is that top student in our class?"

"Hmm." Li Junyu seized the opportunity to snatch the microphone from his hand.

Xu Jiyang glanced in Ji Xiwen's direction, then, no longer caring about fighting with Li Junyu for the microphone, he took his phone and walked towards where the three girls were sitting.

Zhang Qingyan found an empty sofa and pulled Ji Xiwen and Luo Wenjing to sit down.

When the three of them get together, they naturally start chattering away.

Luo Wenjing asked softly, "Where's your boyfriend?"

"They're smoking outside." Zhang Qingyan picked up the menu and looked at it. "What do you two want to eat? Their fried noodles with soybean paste and snack platter are pretty good..."

"What's on the snack platter?" Ji Xiwen asked curiously.

"Egg tarts, popcorn chicken, fries, and chicken wings," Zhang Qingyan handed the menu to the two of them. "Order whatever you like; Cui Kai has plenty of pocket money."

Ji Xiwen ordered a snack platter, and Luo Wenjing ordered a bowl of beef noodles.

"Student Ji."

Ji Xiwen put down the menu, and a familiar voice suddenly rang out beside her.

She looked up in confusion. "Hmm?"

Xu Jiyang smiled and waved his phone. "Let's add each other on WeChat."

Ji Xiwen had a very good impression of Xu Jiyang. He was humorous, cheerful, and easy-going. He could chat with anyone and was always quick to smooth things over.

Without much hesitation, she scanned Xu Jiyang's QR code.

Li Junyu had only sung a couple of lines when Xu Jiyang returned looking dazed.

He was holding his phone, his brows furrowed deeply.

Li Junyu didn't have time to pay attention to him until she finished singing the entire song and handed the microphone to someone else, then she leaned over and asked, "Didn't you get his WeChat?"

"We're almost there."

Xu Jiyang, his mind incoherent, stammered, "It's...it's..."

"What is it?" Li Junyu's curiosity was piqued by his question.

It can't be explained in just one or two sentences.

Xu Jiyang answered with action, holding up his phone and handing it to Li Junyu.

Li Junyu looked at his phone with a puzzled expression, but her eyes slowly widened.

Nickname: No Bells Ring at Midday in the Creek.

The image next to it is a small red strawberry holding a sword.

It was none other than Shangguan Ziyi from "Fruit Warriors".
