Summer Green Apples

Chapter 05 Sister

The light switch should be located at the entrance.

Just as Ji Xiwen was groping her way over, the door suddenly opened from the outside.

She froze, then looked up.

The lights in the yard were very bright, streaming in as the door opened and illuminating the floor.

The person who opened the door had a very long figure; he had a backpack slung over one shoulder, his legs were exceptionally long, and he held the doorknob with one hand.

When the boy caught a glimpse of Ji Xiwen, he was standing at the door without moving, seemingly puzzled as to why a stranger had come to his house after he had gone out.

Then, he asked lazily, "Who are you?"

That sound...

Although they had only been deskmates for a day, Ji Xiwen still managed to discern the difference accurately.

It was her deskmate with whom she had only exchanged a few words for a day.

So he really is Chi Kai's son?!

What a coincidence!

Ji Xiwen stood there dumbfounded.

Seeing that she didn't speak, Chi turned on the light with a "click".

Under the round light at the entrance, the boy coldly peered at her. He was wearing red school uniform trousers and a thin black jacket with a logo of English letters on the chest.

The outfit was quite mismatched, but on him it had an indescribable nonchalant coolness.

Broad shoulders and long legs, the zipper was zipped up to the top.

Chi Sui casually grabbed the strap of his schoolbag, his fingers long and slender, his skin a pale, jade-like white.

"Not speaking? Is he mute?"

"He's not mute."

Ji Xiwen gripped the plastic cup tightly in her hand. "I'm just a little confused."

A little confused?

Chi then looked her up and down.

When Ji Xiwen was doing her homework, she felt that her bangs were blocking her vision, so she used a hair clip to pin them up, clearly revealing her eyebrows and eyes.

With delicate eyebrows and almond-shaped eyes, her gaze is moist and bright, giving her a very pure and gentle appearance.

She was wearing a white cotton nightgown that reached her calves, revealing delicate and slender ankles. The exposed part of her calves was probably even thinner than her arms.

It's not good to stare at girls like that.

So Chi Sui glanced at it twice and then looked away.

He belatedly pulled his phone out of his pocket and found the message Chi Kai had sent him yesterday, saying that Ji Rong's family had a child who wanted to stay for a year, probably until September.

Chi was displeased after receiving the news.

Unexpectedly, the "surprise" came today.

Realizing this, his previously nonchalant expression suddenly turned cold, accompanied by an inexplicable sense of irritation.

Chi closed the door, lowered his head, and kicked off his shoes. Next to him, besides Ji Rong's high heels, there was a pair of white canvas shoes.

The canvas shoes were clean and spotless, and the size was smaller than Chi Sui had imagined.

He paused awkwardly for a moment while changing his shoes.

The next second, he moved closer to Ji Xiwen, looking down at her. "I know who you are. Ji Rong brought you here, right?"

"……right."

Ji Xiwen nodded slowly.

She wondered uncertainly if the young master hadn't recognized her.

If I recognized her, there's no reason I'd be so calm.

Before she could continue her train of thought, she heard Chi Sui chuckle.

The laughter was cold, its chill seeming to penetrate to the very core of one's being.

Ji Xiwen's heart skipped a beat, and she looked up.

It happened to meet the boy's cold eyes, his expression mocking.

"Just as shameless as Ji Rong, he moved in without even saying hello."

Ji Xiwen frowned, a rare expression of anger rising within her. "Uncle Chi agreed."

"Who told you he agreed?"

Chi Sui chuckled coldly again, unlocked his phone with facial recognition, tapped with his long finger, and dialed a number directly.

After a few beeps, the call was quickly answered on the other end.

"What's wrong now?"

The man's deep, resonant voice flowed slowly through the quiet living room.

Chi Sui's tone was flat: "Last time you said someone was going to move into your house, didn't I refuse, saying it was either her or me?"

"Yeah, that's right." The man sighed. "Why bring this up all of a sudden?"

Chi then gave an irrelevant answer: "Didn't you say last time that we'd discuss this matter later and not let her come?"

"yes."

The two words reached Ji Xiwen's ears clearly.

Before Chi Kai could continue speaking, Chi Sui abruptly hung up the phone.

He gazed at Ji Xiwen's pale and embarrassed face, leaned closer, and said, "Did you hear that? Neither my dad nor I agreed to let you come and live here."

Ji Xiwen's entire face turned red.

She gripped the cup tightly, bowed her head, and apologized, "I'm...I'm sorry."

The last syllable trembled slightly, and the accent didn't sound like that of Ping City.

The sound was quite familiar to my ears.

Chi Sui frowned involuntarily as he took another look at the girl in front of him.

A vague sense of familiarity could be discerned from her small and delicate chin.

"...Are you the new student who just transferred to our class?"

His tone was tinged with surprise and doubt, and he even took a step back.

Ji Xiwen nodded, then quickly said, "I'm sorry, I didn't know you and your father disagreed. Don't worry, I'll move out tomorrow."

Thinking of his deskmate's timid demeanor throughout the day, Chi fell silent.

It seems that he is not the arrogant person he imagined.

He awkwardly tugged at the strap of his backpack. "You'd better be able to do that."

After saying that, he went upstairs without looking back. He played ball at noon and spent the whole afternoon fussing around, so he was in a hurry to take a shower.

Ji Xiwen stared at his retreating figure, stunned for two seconds.

She gripped her water glass tightly, planning to go find Ji Rong tomorrow and ask her properly.

After regaining her senses, she filled a glass with water and tiptoed back upstairs, afraid of disturbing Young Master Chi next door.

The bedroom was brightly lit and decorated in a cozy, cozy style.

It's completely different from my old home.

Ji Xiwen took a sip of water, lowered her eyes, and focused all her thoughts on the question.

She loves doing problems, and when she gets engrossed in them, she temporarily forgets all her troubles.

……

In the bedroom, separated by only one wall.

Chi casually tossed his schoolbag onto the table and pulled out his constantly vibrating phone from his pocket, throwing it onto the sofa.

He then slowly took off his sweatpants, his long, pale fingers tugging at the hem of his T-shirt, and went to the dressing room to change into some loungewear, wearing only his underwear.

He went to the bathroom to wash his hands, then sat down on the sofa and picked up his phone.

A WeChat group chat of three people is bustling with activity.

If we don't chat, we'll talk to each other (3)

Xu Jiyang: [Young Master, why are you leaving so early? School Beauty Meng's face has fallen.]

Li Junyu: [Exactly, the game table isn't as exciting anymore after you left.]

Xu Jiyang: [What do you mean? I'm still sitting at the table.]

Li Junyu: [Every time you get a badge, the answer is written all over your face. I want to play along, but aren't you just being incredibly stupid?]

Xu Jiyang: [Go to hell.]

Chi Sui lazily nestled in the soft sofa, casually watching the screen.

Then I remembered the girl I saw in the living room.

An unnamed ghost fire rose from my heart.

He typed a message: "Going to the city library tomorrow."

Li Junyu: [Didn't you complain about it being too noisy before?]

Chi Sui: [Someone's come to visit. Annoying.]
