Farming Life Starting in Africa

Chapter 92 Waiting for the Navy

He turned to his comrades behind him and simultaneously pressed the intercom button: "Second team, protect the civilians! First and third teams, come downstairs with me! The rebels have been defeated; let's clear the battlefield! Be careful, those three men with machine guns on the street downstairs are friendly forces; don't accidentally shoot them! Don't point your guns at them!"

"yes!"

The armed police officers went downstairs in an orderly manner and began searching for any remaining enemy forces.

However, as soon as they went downstairs, they were stunned by the horrific scene on the first floor.

Some of the beams and pillars were cracked and deformed, and thick dust slowly settled. Broken bricks and bits of flesh were mixed together, a horrifying sight in the dim light. Flames were scattered everywhere, occasionally roasting something, and the air was filled with a nauseating smell of burnt flesh and cloth.

Several young armed police officers couldn't help but swallow hard, not out of greed, but out of shock. They had experienced the most brutal battlefields, but none were as bloody as this.

Armed police officers, guns at the ready, carefully searched the ruins on the first floor to confirm that there were no living creatures left.

Apart from Rosen and a few other living people, there was nothing else breathing on this floor.

Rosen held the PKM at an angle, muzzle pointing downwards, while Leng Feng and Zhou Weijie stood guard not far away, their eyes constantly scanning the surrounding streets, windows, and rooftops.

Rosen didn't really want to look for any survivors in this building anymore; it would lower his SAN value too much.

Li Wei walked up to Rosen, and his eyes twitched involuntarily as he looked at Rosen's strange helmet and the long bullet chain hanging on his body.

"This is the Chinese Armed Police," Li Wei saluted, trying to make his tone sound formal, "Please state your identity."

Rosen said casually, "I'm a Chinese businessman from Uller next door. My two friends and I are here to see other people off at the port of Ohafa to board a ship back home. We were just passing by and saw that you guys were having a good time, so we came over to join in the fun."

Li Wei didn't know how to control his expression. An ordinary citizen running to a place with dense gunfire to join in the fun? What kind of hellish joke was this? It made him shiver even in the hot African land.

"Thank you for your help." Li Wei looked at his equipment: casual clothes with only a simple tactical vest over them, a strange helmet, and a PKM that looked fierce. Only Leng Feng and Zhou Weijie had weapons and equipment that looked like they belonged to the US military.

He glanced again at the still-smoking anti-aircraft gun on the vehicle behind him and couldn't help but ask, "Where did you get these weapons from?"

"Oh? Hahaha," Rosen laughed innocently, "I bought it from a friend. Do you need it? I can buy it for you, the price is fair, and I'll treat you honestly."

Li Wei quickly waved his hand. They were all going back to China soon; what would they need this old stuff for? To use it for fishing?

"Since you're also going to the port, you can follow behind our car for a while, so you can look out for each other along the way."

"You can follow behind our car," Rosen said with a smile, patting the BJ40 parked to the side with its engine still running. "My car is more durable; it's bulletproof."

Li Wei's expression grew even more strange. What ordinary citizen could possess such a thing? Was Rosen and his group some kind of warlord operating overseas? What respectable businessman would drive armored vehicles and set up anti-aircraft guns around in war-torn regions?

A short while later, a group of evacuated overseas Chinese and migrant workers came downstairs.

When they saw the devastation on the first floor, most of them couldn't help but cover their mouths, and a few even squatted down to return to nature's bounty.

Rosen and his group were already standing on the street. The smell of barbecue from inside the building had already spread, and combined with this hellish scene, it was indeed too stimulating.

Leng Feng looked at the scene inside the building and shook his head speechlessly: "Your gun... is too domineering."

Zhou Weijie glanced at him sideways: "Tell me, isn't it easy to use? Dozens of rebels were wiped out in a minute or two."

Rosen smiled, with a hint of understated smugness: "This thing uses cannonballs, the power is excessive, how could it not be domineering?"

On the Linyi warship.

In the command center, Captain Gao Yun stood in front of the map table, his brows furrowed.

"Where are Yang Rui and the others?" he asked.

"Report!" a staff officer stood up. "They're stuck on the road, only four intersections from their target. There are roadblocks and gunfire on the main road ahead, so they're taking a detour."

Gao Yun frowned and turned to look at the screen beside him. It was a live feed transmitted from the unmanned reconnaissance aircraft.

Two strange vehicles appeared at the entrance to the factory area. One was a modified Jeep, and the other was a pickup truck equipped with an anti-aircraft gun. The nearby rebels had disappeared, and expatriates and armed police were boarding the vehicles in an orderly manner.

"Contact Consul He Qingliu immediately and inquire about the situation on their end," Gao Yun said with a hint of surprise.

A moment later, the call was connected.

"Consul He, what's going on on your end?" Gao Yun asked疑惑地. "Why aren't you waiting for our special forces to arrive? Our men will be here soon."

"Captain Gao, let me have the armed police explain this to you," He Qingliu said, handing his phone to Li Wei, who was standing nearby.

"Captain Gao," Li Wei's voice came through the receiver, "we've encountered a group of civilians from within the country... who are also escorting overseas Chinese to the port. They have sufficient firepower and have already scattered the rebels. The area is temporarily safe, and we plan to leave the combat zone together."

Gao Yun's expression immediately turned grim: "Nonsense! The special forces are only four intersections away! Stay put! Do not act on your own!"

Li Wei immediately stood at attention: "Yes, sir!"

After hanging up the phone, Li Wei looked at Rosen next to him with an embarrassed expression: "The Navy told us to wait a little longer; the special forces are almost here."

Rosen shrugged nonchalantly. "Then let's wait. A few more minutes won't make a difference. I'll go reload the anti-aircraft gun; I had a good time firing, and the ammo box is empty."

After saying that, he turned to get into the car.

At this moment, He Qingliu gently tugged at Rosen's sleeve, "Young comrade, where are you from? I've never seen you before. Judging from your accent, you're from the north?"

Rosen turned around and looked at He Qingliu's kind face: "Me? I'm doing business in Uller. And you are?"

"I am Consul He Qingliu, stationed in Iraq," He Qingliu said with a smile, extending his hand. "Hello, thank you for your help. If you hadn't passed by, things might have been very difficult for us."

"Nice to meet you," Rosen shook his hand. "My name is Rosen. By the way, Consul He, I'd like to ask you about someone. Do you know Deng Mei of Ivia Green Valley Energy?"

He Qingliu's expression changed slightly, and he asked in confusion, "Deng Mei? What's your relationship with her?"
