Chapter 59 Miss Zhuo's Feelings

If it weren't for Leng Feng's Asian face, these guys probably would have opened fire immediately.

Rosen stuck his head out of the car window and called out to Leng Feng, "Wait here for a bit, I'll be out in a minute."

The car drove into the port, and the people in the back seat got out to register. Only Rosen and Zhuo Weixi remained in the car. After a moment of silence, Zhuo Weixi spoke, "Brother Rosen, aren't you leaving?"

Rosen sighed, glanced at her, then looked back at the chaotic crowd outside the window. "I have two unlucky friends here who got captured by the Iron Army. I have to get them out."

"Huh?" Zhuo Weixi clearly hadn't expected this answer, her eyes widening slightly. "If it's about rescuing people...aren't the embassy staff and government troops in charge?"

"That's true," Rosen leaned back in his chair, "but we can't be too passive. I have a friend who can contact the Iron Army; it'd be safer to ransom them as soon as possible. If a war really breaks out here, the government troops are too busy dealing with their own problems to have time to rescue people."

If you stay in a place like this for a long time, you'll understand a principle: instead of waiting for someone to rescue you, it's better to find a way yourself.

Zhuo Weixi was silent for a few seconds, then her face slowly turned red. "Then...when are you going back to China?"

Rosen pretended not to notice, "Let's wait until things are settled here. Once my uncle gets his US green card, I'll go try out what it's like to be a Red Dead Redemption 2 player."

Zhuo Weixi bit her lower lip, staring at her hands resting on her knees. After a long while, she spoke again, "Have you never thought about... going back to China to develop your career?"

Even a fool could understand what that meant. Rosen certainly understood as well, but in this movie world, he had the illusion of being caught up in various conflicts. Returning home wasn't necessarily a good thing; it would impose many restrictions on him.

If you're abroad, you can do whatever you want, and then come back to China when you can't make it abroad anymore.

"Hehe, we'll see. I want to travel more while I'm still young."

Another silence fell. Zhuo Weixi kept picking at the seam of her pants at the knee. Finally, she couldn't hold back any longer. "Brother Sen, if... if you're in America by then, can I come visit you?"

Rosen turned to look at her. The girl's hesitant expression amused him. He shook his head. "It's dangerous to play with me. You've seen it yourself, I've killed several people today."

"That's different!" Zhuo Weixi immediately became anxious, her voice rising abruptly before she realized she was being too agitated and lowered it again. "You only did that to save us! How can it be the same as usual... how can it be the same as usual?"

Rosen didn't respond to that question, but instead glanced at his watch. "Alright, you can get on the boat now. How about your brother?"

"He's not leaving for now. The factory is in a rather remote location, so the rebels won't be keeping an eye on them." As Zhuo Weixi said this, the light in her eyes dimmed slightly. She knew that Rosen was changing the subject.

Rosen was also speechless, recalling what he had seen in a movie. That factory was really unlucky; not only did several tanks rush in and cause damage, but it also took several weakened ship-to-ground missiles.

However, since Leng Feng won't go there in this life, there shouldn't be any money-burning lunatics going there to cause trouble.

Just as Rosen was stunned, Zhuo Weixi came over and hugged Rosen's neck tightly. The sound he didn't have time to make was drowned out by a full kiss.

The slightly cool tongue slid into his mouth, greedily exploring his scent.

After a long while, their lips parted, leaving behind several glistening threads.

"Brother Sen, I'll be waiting for you in China." After saying that, Zhuo Weixi got out of the car, leaving Rosen still savoring the moment. Before considering whether to go to the United States, he decided to return to China for a while to relax.

Seeing that they had already joined the queue, Rosen patted the steering wheel and started the car. He turned the car around and drove off; Leng Feng's car was already waiting at the intersection. The two cars, one after the other, headed towards Uller.

He was waiting for Zhou Weijie to come and help him contact the Iron Army to pay the ransom.

When they were less than three kilometers from Uller, gunfire erupted, interspersed with muffled thuds, sounding like grenades or some kind of explosive. Rosen frowned and cursed, "Damn it, these guys never stop!"

As he spoke, he floored the accelerator, the engine roared to life, and the car surged forward. Leng Feng, behind him, accelerated in his all-terrain vehicle to catch up.

When they arrived in Uller, they discovered that the gunfire was mainly coming from the military camp, and they didn't see any rebels anywhere else.

The two drove back to their own territory and immediately felt much safer.

Leng Feng got out of the car, stood in the yard, looked in the direction of the gunfire, frowned, and said, "I never thought this place was this chaotic before. How come it's gotten so bad lately?"

Rosen looked at him and smiled meaningfully. The chaos here is probably mostly because of your arrival. He said nothing more, only, "Perhaps it's the call of the times."

Hearing this, Leng Feng couldn't help but roll his eyes. "And then are you going to put on a calisthenics routine?"

"Hehe." Rosen didn't respond to that.

Just then, Patrick came out of the house, carrying the M870 shotgun, his mouth still greasy, clearly from eating and not having had time to wipe it. "Hehe, boss," he grinned, revealing a set of white teeth.

"Do you know what's going on?" Rosen pointed in the direction of the gunshot.

Patrick shook his head. "I don't know. A few minutes ago, fighting suddenly broke out over there. I guess the rebels have broken in again."

If you stay in this place for a long time, your sensitivity to gunshots will gradually decrease, and you will go from being panicked at the beginning to thinking, "Oh, here we go again."

"Alright, now that you're full, come help with the work." Rosen gestured with his chin toward the all-terrain vehicle. "Take the gun off the roof of that vehicle."

"Alright, boss!" Patrick turned and ran to the tool shed, rummaging through boxes and cabinets looking for something handy.

Leng Feng walked over and asked in a low voice, "Shouldn't you take some defensive measures here? If the rebels really take over this area, won't they come knocking on your door demanding protection money?"

Rosen waved his hand. "No need. I've buried a lot of landmines outside this wall. People who don't use the main gate are likely to get into trouble."

He turned to look at the monster truck parked in the inner courtyard. The twin anti-aircraft gun in the truck bed was pointing directly at the gate of the courtyard. The two dark barrels reflected a cold light in the sunlight. "And with this thing here, I don't think anyone would be foolish enough to try its power."
