Farming Life Starting in Africa

Chapter 271 was quite fruitful.

After the lone wolf disappeared around the corner of the stairs, Rosen turned and walked into the room with the cracked wall.

Judging from the furnishings and layout of the room, it should be the rest room of an old man in the castle. There are old walking aids and rattan chairs in the corner, which exude an old atmosphere.

Rosen reached out and pried at the crack in the wall. The already loosened brick and concrete wall crumbled as he pried it open, large chunks of brick falling off.

The moment the bricks fell off, what was revealed in the wall's internal structure immediately caught Rosen's eye—golden bricks, neatly stacked in the wall's internal structure, were dazzlingly bright.

Good heavens, we've found the drug lord's secret stash of money!

Rosen almost burst out laughing; this was truly an unexpected delight.

He quickly scanned the other rooms, but apart from the corpses lying scattered on the ground, there was no sign of any living person.

Rosen pulled a large crowbar directly from the capsule space and deftly pried open the remaining wall, quickly dismantling the wall containing the treasure.

He counted them and found a total of 380 gold bars. Each bar was marked with a standard Good Delivery certification mark, an individual number, a precise ounce label, and the logo of an overseas organization he did not recognize. Each bar weighed a full 400 ounces.

Rosen grinned from ear to ear, quickly storing all the gold bars into his capsule space. Drug lords were indeed the real money-makers; a few stashes of their own stock were wealth that ordinary people couldn't earn in several lifetimes. This trip was truly a windfall for him.

Having secured the gold bricks, Rosen wasn't in a hurry to pick up Guan Yuming. Instead, he leisurely strolled around the first floor of the castle, checking each room and trying his luck to see if there were any hidden treasures.

The other rooms were either empty or contained only broken furniture and miscellaneous items, with no more hidden goods.

Just when he thought the treasure hunt was over, a study in the far corner of the castle rekindled his interest.

A large section of the room's walls had been blown down, and deep within the rubble, a heavy alloy door was clearly visible. It had a substantial feel and was obviously a bank-grade security vault door.

Rosen immediately perked up; this was undoubtedly the drug lord's main vault. But staring at the sturdy security door, he was at a loss. This kind of professional blast door couldn't be forced open in a short time without a password or tools.

By this time, the gunfire inside the castle had become increasingly sparse, and the remaining resistance forces had been largely wiped out. Time was running out for them.

Rosen's mind raced, and he instantly came up with a shortcut.

Forcibly dismantling the main gate is a foolish method. Every vault has weak points, such as the roof or the floor.

Blowing up the ground is too time-consuming and can easily lead to landslides and injuries. The optimal solution is to break through from top to bottom.

He rushed upstairs to the room and placed a one-kilogram TNT explosive on the ground directly above the vault. He connected the detonator and then placed a one-ton alloy block on top to stabilize the center of gravity and prevent the explosive force from being dispersed.

After everything was in place, he quickly retreated to a safe distance and raised his hand to press the detonation switch.

A dull, heavy explosion suddenly rang out, causing the entire building to shake slightly; the impact was tremendous.

A moment later, Lone Wolf's slightly puzzled voice came through the earpiece: "Honey Badger, what's going on? Where did the explosion happen?"

Rosen casually replied, "It's nothing, just a minor issue. Have you found the person?"

"Found them, they're coming downstairs. Meet at the door in two minutes."

Upon learning that time was of the essence, Rosen immediately rushed back to his study.

Sure enough, a large, neat hole was blasted in the floor, and the heavy alloy block fell down with it.

Rosen estimated the height and, without hesitation, jumped straight down.

The motion-sensor lights inside the vault automatically turned on, illuminating the small space that was filled with supplies.

Four large canvas bags were neatly stacked in the corner, next to a heavy iron box. Hundreds of square goods, about the same size as bags of flour, were piled up against the wall, tightly wrapped in red plastic sheeting.

There is also a small arms storage area on the side, with shelves full of all kinds of firearms, magazines and ammunition.

Rosen didn't have time to carefully examine each item. Adhering to the principle of accepting everything, he stuffed all the supplies, firearms, ammunition, and the iron box into the capsule space, even collecting the fallen alloy blocks.

He then set up the ladder he had prepared beforehand, quickly climbed out of the hole on the roof, put the ladder away, and ran towards the castle exit to rejoin the others.

As they rushed out of the castle gate, they saw several armed men's corpses lying around the Paramount Raider. It seemed that while he was searching for treasure inside, a few stragglers had tried to ambush the armored vehicle, but Chen Ximeng and Hu Feng, who remained inside, had dealt with them on the spot.

Upon seeing Rosen return, the armored vehicle door opened, and Hu Feng poked his head out, quickly asking, "Were the people found successfully?"

Rosen said succinctly, "They'll be out soon, let's get ready to leave." He was referring to someone he had found.

Before long, Lone Wolf emerged from the castle, dragging a Latino man whose hands and feet were tightly bound with one hand, his steps steady.

Before Rosen could say that no prisoners needed to be taken on this mission, Lone Wolf spoke first: "This is Fausto Alarcon. Keep him alive; Jackie probably wants to have a word with him."

That makes perfect sense. Guan Yuming must have his own plans after personally catching the culprit who kidnapped his daughter.

Immediately afterwards, Chen Xiwang also strode out from the east corridor, followed by Guan Yuming, who was on guard with a gun, and his daughter who had been safely rescued. Awei brought up the rear, vigilantly scanning the surroundings to prevent any sudden dangers.

The group quickly boarded the armored vehicle, the heavy doors closed, the engine roared, the vehicle turned around, and sped off at full speed toward the valley exit.

There were no guards blocking the way anymore, and the entire area was completely under the control of the squad.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, their tense nerves finally able to relax.

As the car drove out of the valley and approached the mortar position, everyone saw Fu Longsheng standing next to a black Mercedes-Benz in the distance.

Two men lay at his feet, writhing and groaning in agony on the ground, in a pitiful state.

A gruesome gash appeared on one person's forehead, blood smeared all over their face, obscuring their vision.

The other person's calf was covered in blood and flesh, with dark red blood soaking through the entire trouser leg, indicating a severe injury.

The Paramount Raider slowly came to a stop, and Fu Longsheng raised his pistol, about to finish off the two men with a shot to the head.

At that critical moment, the car door was suddenly pushed open, and Guan Yuming jumped out quickly, shouting, "Stop! Don't shoot!"

Fu Longsheng paused, looking up with a puzzled expression.

Guan Yuming rushed to the two men, crouched down, and carefully examined the man with a wound on his forehead and a face covered in blood. His voice held a hint of disbelief as he tentatively asked, "Alex?"

The man, who had been struggling in pain, froze instantly. He struggled to lift his head, and after his blurry vision made out who it was, his voice was hoarse and filled with astonishment: "Jackie? What are you doing here?"

Guan Yuming didn't answer his question. Without saying a word, he reached out and helped the weak Alejandro up. He then turned to Fu Longsheng and quickly ordered, "Get them both into the car first. We'll leave here immediately."

Fu Longsheng's adopted son quickly stepped forward to help gather the mortar barrels and organize the remaining shells, loading them all neatly onto the vehicle.

The armored vehicle started up again and steadily drove away. In the footage transmitted back by the high-altitude drone, the expected police and military support failed to arrive, and the valley was completely turned into a vacuum zone with no one to control it.

The carriage was brightly lit.

Alejandro leaned against the side wall of the carriage, and suddenly his gaze locked onto Fausto Alarcon, who was bound hand and foot. His eyes instantly became bloodshot, his gaze turned red and ferocious, and the hatred that had been suppressed for many years surged out completely.

He turned sharply to look at Guan Yuming, his voice trembling as he pleaded, "Jackie, give him to me, please, give him to me!"

Guan Yuming looked at the dejected yet obsessive man before him, sighed softly, and said in a complicated tone, "I can hand him over to you, but you must tell me what you've been through these past few years, and where you've been?"

Alejandro subconsciously glanced around at the strangers in the carriage, his lips moved as if he wanted to say something but hesitated, clearly indicating that he had some private past that he was not comfortable talking about in public.

Guan Yuming saw through his concerns and said softly, "Let's talk about it slowly when we get to a safe place."
