Unreliable Sword Immortal.

Chapter 203 The Great Thief of the Qilin

The Nut Secret Realm is equipped with a [Secret Realm Radar]. In the central control room, it can search for secret camps, exclusive caves, exclusive grottoes, small worlds, strategic bases, etc. Lu Chaoding had studied this [Secret Realm Radar] before, but did not find any secret realms. Now, after hearing Lan E's explanation, he roughly understands that the radar can only function in special locations that are relatively close to the secret realms.

"Secret realms, grotto-heavens, small worlds—it feels a bit like a multiverse. What we can confirm now is that Dao Cang Kong's Great Universe Grotto-Heaven is near the Great Sword Sect's base. The Great Sword Sect's base no longer exists; only half of the Great Sword Breaking Void Mountain remains. Once I return from Qilin Cliff, I'll go and explore it thoroughly..."

Lu Chaoding silently made plans, and then asked Lan E and others a lot about Daozang Kong, Ye Longxing and Qilin Cliff. He learned a lot of useful information, which made him feel that these hundred ladies were still very reliable.

Half a day later, Lu Chaoding's Sky-class patrol ship arrived at the location designated by Xiang Rudan.

This is an unnamed valley located in the northern suburbs of Tianyun City. A few hunter families live outside the valley, living quietly. The valley is no more than two miles long, overgrown with weeds, and there are no wild monsters. The whole valley looks ordinary and has nothing special about it.

Lu Chaoding stopped the Sky-Patrolling Ship in the center of the valley. Xiang Rudan jumped down, made a strange hand gesture, bit his tongue and spat out a mouthful of blood. The blood turned into a phantom of a Qilin. The phantom pounced into the air, and a bright portal slowly became clear.

Xiang Rudan said, "After crossing this gate of light, I should be able to reach the Qilin Cliff Grotto-heaven. I don't know whether the future holds fortune or misfortune, so I beg the Sect Leader and all the Sect Leaders' Wives to protect me!"

Lu Chao nodded and said, "Let's go!"

After saying this, he put his hands behind his back and was the first to walk into the bright portal. As soon as he stepped in, it was as if he had entered a teleportation array. Lu Chao felt dizzy and disoriented. After three breaths, the scene in front of him stabilized, and he found himself in the Qilin Cliff Cave Heaven.

"Ding! You have entered the Qilin Cliff Grotto-Heaven!"

"Ding! The current area is a special secret realm. Some system functions will be disabled while you are in this area. Please explore on your own."

"Ding! After the [Legend of Nine Qilin] storyline ends, escorting Xiang Rudan to Qilin Cliff Cave Heaven is complete. You are rewarded with ten Qilin Treasures. The reward items have been sent to your storage space. Please check them yourself."

"Is that all?"

Lu Chaoding was in a good mood. He looked around and saw that the hundred sect leaders' wives and Xiang Rudan had been teleported over. Now, his group was next to a Qilin statue. The Qilin statue was three zhang tall and had a great sense of age. Its right paw was pressing on a boundary stone tablet with three large characters on it: "Qilin Cliff".

Lu Chao took off on his sword and looked into the distance. He could see many houses and palaces on some lush green mountain peaks. It seemed that Qilin Cliff was an isolated mountain with a gentle slope on one side and a steep slope on the other. One side of the cliff faced the sea, but the sea was not very big. You could see the end of the sea. The end of the sea was the end of Qilin Cliff Cave Heaven, where there was a light blue light barrier.

In fact, Lu Chaoding has already completed his mission. He can leave Xiang Ruhai behind and go back. The bright teleportation portal under the Qilin statue has not disappeared. He can probably step out and return to the valley in the northern suburbs of Tianyun City.

However, having finally made it to Qilin Cliff, Lu Chaoding was still eager to visit and explore it, hoping to stumble upon some unexpected opportunities.

"Lan'e, Lüliu, you two lead the way. We need to meet with the person in charge of Qilin Cliff and settle Xiang Rudan in..."

Lu Chaoding quickly made some arrangements, then walked to the center of the group and silently examined the ten Qilin Treasures.

At that same time, about three miles away, in the most magnificent hall at the highest point of Qilin Cliff, nine old men dressed in golden robes were sitting cross-legged around a small golden Qilin statue.

They are the nine elders of Qilin Cliff, and are currently the most revered figures in Qilin Cliff.

If any players are here, they can see their basic information: eight of the nine are level 80, and one is level 81, namely "Elder Xiang Tianming"!

This elder is now equivalent to the patriarch of the Qilin clan of Qilin Cliff. He holds a high position and wields great power and prestige.

Suddenly, someone rushed into the main hall, knelt down, and cried out, "Elders, something terrible has happened! The Qilin Treasure Vault opened automatically, and all the Qilin treasures stored inside have vanished!"

"What?!"

Upon hearing this, the Grand Elder Xiang Tianming, clad in a golden robe, abruptly opened his eyes. He looked at the messenger and said, "Without the nine of us using our magic, how could the Qilin Treasure Vault have opened?"

Another elder in golden robes frowned and said, "Could it be that thieves have broken the treasure vault's seal and stolen its hidden treasures?"

"Could it be that black Qilin?!"

"The black Qilin suddenly appeared and occupied a cliff. It is indeed very strong, but it will not be so easy for it to steal the Qilin treasure."

"The Qilin Treasure Vault is a vital location of Qilin Cliff. Every single Qilin treasure within is of paramount importance, representing the very foundation of our clan. Who possesses such means to steal all of its treasures?"

"This matter is of utmost importance!"

"Gentlemen, let's go and take a look at the Qilin Treasure Vault!"

"If all ten treasures are taken, the loss will be enormous!"

"Seal off the entire mountain first; don't let the treasure hunters escape..."

The nine elders of Qilin Cliff quickly got up and soon arrived at the Qilin Treasure Vault.

The Qilin Treasure Vault was also a building resembling a grand hall, and its doors were indeed wide open. Inside, there were only ten smooth jade platforms, and nothing was on the platforms.

"How is that possible!"

The First Elder, Xiang Tianming, staggered back a step, clutching his chest. He exclaimed, "Ten secret treasures! The Qilin Sun and Moon Armor, the Qilin Creation Pill, the Qilin Immortality Elixir, the Qilin Spiritual Energy Fruit, the Qilin Peace Sword, the Qilin Life and Death Seal, the Qilin Sacred Fire Token, the Qilin Myriad Manifestations Wheel, the Qilin Nine Yang Blood, the Qilin Divine Beast Talisman—gone, gone, all gone! We've been robbed of a great thief!"

As the elder spoke, he began to vomit blood, as if he had been overcome with anger. He quickly became extremely weak and had to be helped up.

These ten Qilin treasures are indeed extremely valuable; they represent the very foundation of the Qilin clan. For the Qilin clan, losing even one of them would be a major event, let alone losing them all.

Soon, the sound of bells echoed throughout Qilin Cliff, and a large number of NPCs became active, starting to hunt down thieves all over the mountains.

In this atmosphere, Lu Chaoding and his group were soon stopped by a group of guards.

"Who are you people?"

The leading guard was a level 60 swordsman, wearing armor, and he looked at Lu Chao and the others with great tension.

It should be noted that Lu Chaoding and his hundred wives, all of whom are now extraordinary sword cultivators, travel together as if they were a group of supreme elders from a second-rate sect. How could this not be terrifying?

Lu Chaoding had just finished reviewing the ten rewards for the Qilin Secret Treasures. These were ten five-star items: the [Qilin Sun and Moon Armor], the [Qilin Creation Pill], the [Qilin Immortality Elixir], the [Qilin Spiritual Energy Fruit], the [Qilin Peace Sword], the [Qilin Life and Death Seal], the [Qilin Sacred Fire Token], the [Qilin Myriad Manifestations Wheel], the [Qilin Nine Yang Blood], and the [Qilin Divine Beast Talisman]!

Of the ten treasures, the [Qilin Sun and Moon Armor] is a fashion item, the [Qilin Creation Pill] and [Qilin Immortality Elixir] are pills, the [Qilin Peace Sword] is a weapon, the [Qilin Life and Death Seal] and [Qilin Sacred Fire Token] are pendants, the [Qilin Myriad Manifestations Wheel] is a back accessory, the [Qilin Nine Yang Blood] is a material, and the [Qilin Spiritual Energy Fruit] and [Qilin Divine Beast Talisman] are special treasures.

Their attributes were all quite good, and they were already bound to Lu Chaoding. Lu Chaoding was very satisfied and in a good mood. When he saw someone blocking his way, he was not in a hurry or made a fuss. He stepped forward and said, "I am Lu Chaoding, the head of the Reliable Sword Sect. I was entrusted by Xiang Ruyan, the leader of the Nine Qilin, to send his son Xiang Rudan back to Qilin Cliff. Please take us to see the person in charge of your clan to discuss Xiang Rudan's cultivation."

"What? Xiang Ruyan's son?"

The guard leader was taken aback upon hearing this, then looked at Xiang Rudan seriously, his gaze lingering on Xiang Rudan's brow for a while before nodding and saying, "Indeed, you are a member of my Qilin clan. So, you are Xiang Ruyan's son, and your father. How are you now? Has he returned? Currently, the Black Qilin is causing trouble at Qilin Cliff, and we are in dire need of experts. If your father has come, that would be wonderful."

Xiang Rudan looked somber and stepped forward, saying, "My father has passed away. I will return to the mountain in his place."

"Xiang Ruyan is dead! How is that possible? He was a peerless genius of our Qilin clan, appearing only once every five thousand years! The Grand Elder said he was destined to become a peak-level expert. How could he have perished? What about the other eight Qilin? How are they now?"

The guard leader seemed to recognize Xiang Ruyan, and his face was full of disbelief.

Xiang Rudan shook his head and sighed, saying, "The Nine Qilin... have all perished."

"Impossible! I don't believe it!"

The guard leader shook his head repeatedly.

Lu Chao retorted, "Stop questioning! Please take us to see your manager!"

The guard leader suddenly snorted and said, "Now that a notorious bandit has infiltrated Qilin Cliff, you are highly suspicious. Come with us to meet the nine elders!"

A moment later, Lu Chaoding and his group were taken to the Qilin Hall on the mountaintop, where they met nine elders of the Qilin clan.

The nine elders were all restless, still agonizing over the loss of the Qilin Treasure. They were making a ruckus and neglected Lu Chaoding and his group, leaving them standing in the main hall for quite a while, being watched over by the same group of guards.

"Qilin Cliff has been robbed! The Qilin Treasure has been stolen..."

Lu Chaoding overheard a few words and immediately felt a little guilty.

"Could it be that some unreliable system robbed someone's treasure vault and then gave it to me as a mission reward? Is that how mission rewards are given out? Are they trying to scam me...?"

As Lu Chaoding was pondering this, the nine elders in the main hall simultaneously unleashed their abilities. Suddenly, a beam of light fell upon Lu Chaoding, and the Qilin clan members immediately surrounded him.

"The mastermind has been found!"

"So it was this guy!"

"I've suspected this outsider for a long time!"

"Take him down, take him down..."

The group of NPCs, all seated around a Qilin statue, shouted as if they were about to take action.

"You unreliable system, you piece of junk, you've ruined my life!"

Lu Chao was somewhat displeased. Judging from the current situation, the misunderstanding wasn't so easy to explain, and it seemed a fight was about to break out.

But just as Lu Chao was about to strike first, he suddenly received a system notification: "Ding, Occasionally Unreliable has activated, issuing a timed mission: Within 3 hours, get along well with the nine elders of Qilin Cliff and gain their respect. Mission complete, reward: Unreliable item x1!"

"Huh? A mission has arrived!"

Lu Chaoding's mind raced, and he immediately abandoned the idea of fighting. He cupped his hands in greeting and said loudly, "Everyone, please don't get excited. If I, the sect leader, said that the ten Qilin treasures were a mission reward given to me by the system, would you believe me? I've just arrived in your esteemed land, how could I possibly be some Qilin thief?"

The First Elder, Xiang Tianming, scrutinized Lu Chaoding with a stern expression. He gestured for everyone to be quiet and shouted, "Hand over our clan's secret treasure. If it's intact, I'll spare your life!"

Lu Chao retorted, "No way, it's all bound together!"

"Bind on? What does that mean?"

"It means it's already mine, and I can't give it to anyone else!"

"You! You've infuriated me! Since that's the case, then you may stay!"

"What, you want to make a move?"

Lu Chao calmly took out a Nine-Scaled Calamity Mirror. Upon seeing this, the expressions of the NPCs from Qilin Cliff in the hall changed drastically.

The Grand Elder said, "Wait a moment, what are you holding in your hand..."

"This is the Nine-Scaled Calamity Mirror!" Lu Chao then took out the second, third, fourth... until he had piled them up in front of him. He announced loudly, "These are all Nine-Scaled Calamity Mirrors, genuine and of the highest quality. Want some? They're free!"

"This... is it really being given away for free?"

"This sect leader is generous and charitable. I find you nine elders agreeable. If you respect me as a man of principle, I'll give it to you for free! Come, elders, come forward and take it!"

Lu Chaoding decided to use "bribes". Anyway, he had plenty of Nine-Scaled Tribulation Mirrors. He could just throw some out and easily complete the mission, which would be a win!

Next, Elder Xiang Tianming, with some skepticism, took the Nine-Scaled Calamity Mirror from Lu Chaoding's hand. He examined it carefully and, finding it to be genuine, his eyes lit up. He chuckled and said, "Are you the reliable Sect Leader Lu of the Sword Sect? I was rude just now; I respect you as a true man!"

The Second Elder, Xiang Tianjin, then walked up to Lu Chao and said, "I also respect you as a true man!"

After saying that, he picked up a Nine-Scaled Calamity Mirror from the ground and ran away happily.

"Sect Leader Lu is a true man; I salute you!"

"Respectfully, Sect Leader Lu!"

"My turn. I respect Sect Leader Lu as a true man..."

The atmosphere in the main hall suddenly became strange. Soon, all nine elders received a Nine-Scale Calamity Mirror. They stroked it with smiles, no longer feeling the melancholy of losing the Qilin Treasure.

However, Lu Chao did not receive the system notification that the task was completed. He frowned and said, "Nine elders, your respect is not enough. You must respect me from the bottom of your hearts. Come, let's do it again. Give each of you another mirror!"

The nine elders were overjoyed upon hearing this and immediately surrounded Lu Chao, showering him with praise.

Finally, after Lu Chao presented 36 Nine-Scaled Calamity Mirrors, he received a system notification: "By cultivating a friendly relationship with the nine elders of Qilin Cliff and gaining their respect, the mission is complete. Reward: One blueprint for an unreliable building!"
