Chapter 151 Loki's Being Controlled
Chapter 151 Loki's Being Controlled
In the control room of the space carrier, Tony, Bruce Banner, Connors, Nick Fury, and Steve were all gathered.
Tony was standing in front of a huge holographic screen, his fingers rapidly swiping something across the light.
When Thor walked in, Tony didn't even turn his head, but simply pointed to the screen next to him: "Lee En has synced your brother's blood data. This guy and you are completely different species."
Thor took two steps to stand in front of Tony, so close that Tony could feel the hot breath coming from Thor's nose.
He stared down at Tony, his tone chilling, as if issuing an ultimatum: "Don't try to sow discord between us brothers."
"Okay, okay, let's put this topic aside for now." Tony raised his hands in a brief gesture of surrender, but his expression showed no sign of backing down.
"There are currently no clues about the Cosmic Cube, but there's one question I can't figure out."
Don't you think Loki's fighting strength is far inferior to yours?
Lee Eun didn't even activate his Demon Mode, and he subdued him so easily.
Are the Frost Giants a race that is relatively thin and weak?
The names don't sound like it at all.
As Tony spoke, he glanced over Thor's shoulder and out of the corner of his eye at Nick Fury, who was standing silently in the corner.
The black, braised egg-shaped head stood there quietly, hands behind its back, its face expressionless.
Tony had a feeling that this guy knew something, but he deliberately didn't say it.
"No," Thor shook his head, his tone extremely certain, "The Frost Giants are an extremely powerful race, no less so than us Asgardians."
When I was a kid, I often threw Loki into the air and then slammed him to the ground. We also often played wrestling.
Although I always win in the end, he's much more resilient than Sif and the others.
As Thor spoke, he couldn't help but laugh, his eyes filled with a light softened by memories.
The gazes of the other people in the lab turned extremely subtle at the same instant.
The same thought simultaneously popped into everyone's mind: Loki—he was raised with domestic violence.
No wonder he was so focused on luring his own brother to Earth to seize the throne.
Anyone who was thrown into the air and slammed to the ground as a child, and was always kept in the bottom of the wrestling world, would go crazy when they grew up.
Tony cleared his throat and steered the conversation back on track: "Although Li En has undergone two enhancements and his physical abilities are already quite high, there is still a considerable gap compared to you Asgardians, not to mention that he hasn't even activated his Daedric Transformation yet."
In other words, Loki deliberately allowed himself to be captured.
He turned his head, his gaze falling on Nick Fury, a faint, almost cold smile playing on his lips: "What do you think, former director of Hydra?"
"Fuck you, don't call me that." Nick Fury's face darkened instantly.
Although his skin tone made the change less noticeable, the bulging vein near his temple couldn't fool anyone.
He glanced at Thor standing beside him, put his hands behind his back, straightened his back, and his tone returned to its usual calm and businesslike manner.
He did not deny Tony's conclusion.
"When I saw the briefing on the battle between Lee and Loki just now, I already guessed that Loki was deliberately being captured, and Lee was deliberately letting him go."
He paused for a moment, the light shifting from Tony's face to Banner's, and then from Banner's face to Steve.
"Compared to me, you have a deeper relationship with Li En and understand his way of doing things better."
Even if it were just out of consideration for Thor being an ally, under normal circumstances, Lee would at least have ripped off Loki's two legs, but he didn't.
He didn't even break one of Loki's fingers, which doesn't fit with any of his previous behavior patterns.
His conclusion was both steady and cold: "So the answer is clear: the current situation is something Li En did intentionally."
Steve immediately followed up, his voice strained, each word seemingly squeezed out through clenched teeth: "So—you also considered this space carrier as one of the sacrifices."
His face looked very pale.
From the moment I cast my vote against the idea of "sacrificing a portion of the population for a leap forward in space technology" back in the research institute.
He knew that Li En's plan would not stop because of his opposition.
But hearing Nick Fury confirm this judgment with his own ears still felt like something had hit him hard in the chest.
There are hundreds of staff members on this mothership.
They are not cold, hard numbers; they are living, named people.
Nick Fury turned to face Steve, his tone calm to the point of being cold: "As I said to Lee before, we will do everything we can to free humanity from the threat of aliens."
"Whatever the plan, I can carry it out, even if it means my own death."
His voice was not loud, and in the narrow space of the laboratory, it left no room for rebuttal.
The silence lasted for quite a while.
Then Nick Fury spoke again, his tone now carrying a more commanding air: "However, I don't know what Lee's specific plans are, so I will still act in my own way."
Natasha, could you please try to get some information out of Loki?
Natasha didn't speak, she just nodded.
She turned and walked out of the laboratory, her footsteps fading away along the corridor toward the isolation pod where Loki was being held.
Nick Fury then turned to Tony, Banner, and Connors, his tone shifting to an extremely solemn one, completely different from when he had just read out the operational plan.
He was someone who knew the meaning of "necessary cost" and was carving out a path to survival for those who could not die.
"Compared to us, you three scientists absolutely cannot perish here."
His words clearly indicated that he wanted the three of them to leave.
Tony, however, did not appreciate it.
He straightened his chest, extended his right hand in front of Nick Fury, and pulled up his sleeve to reveal a metal bracelet on his wrist that looked no different from an ordinary watch.
His lips curled up slightly, his expression smug.
"See this? Portable Mark armor. In just two seconds, I can transform into Iron Man."
After saying that, he twirled his finger and pointed to Bruce Banner, who was slowly sipping a cup of coffee next to him: "Do you know who he is? He can turn into the Hulk in a fraction of a second."
"If that big green guy really fought, even Thor might not be able to beat him."
"Hey!" Thor chimed in, clearly dissatisfied. "I admit the Hulk is strong, but I'll be the one standing in the end!"
Tony completely ignored his protest.
Then he turned his finger toward Connors, his mouth already open, and then stopped.
Connors had indeed been injected with the Dragon's Blood potion twice, and his physical condition was now significantly better than Steve Rogers'.
The test data is presented clearly and without any exaggeration.
But this man was a pure scientist; he couldn't fire a gun, he couldn't fight, and he hadn't even been trained in the most basic tactical evasion maneuvers.
On paper, he is stronger than Captain America.
But if the two of them really started fighting, Steve could probably make him crawl on the ground looking for his glasses with just one move.
Tony's index finger hovered in mid-air for a moment, then he changed his tune without batting an eye: "Why don't you go back to the lab first?"
Connors didn't feel slighted, and his tone was calm and without the slightest reluctance: "Perfect timing, I also want to go back and continue to advance the research and development of Dragon Blood Type III, so I'll leave this to you."

After saying that, he turned around and walked towards the aircraft deck with a crisp and decisive motion.
Coulson quickly gestured to an agent beside him, who immediately followed Connors and led him to the Quinjet parked on the side of the mothership.
Not long after, the loudspeaker on the laboratory wall suddenly came on.
Natasha's voice came through the speaker, her tone calm and restrained, but what she said made everyone in the room stop what they were doing.
"Loki's target this time is the Hulk."
Tony turned to Bruce Banner beside him, giving him a once-over, his tone serious and scrutinizing: "Have you been under any spell? Do you feel like getting angry or anything?"
Banner, holding his coffee cup, shrugged. "No, I think everything's fine. That coffee was pretty good, better than the one in the school cafeteria."
Tony frowned and thought for a moment, then waved his hand dismissively: "So how does Loki plan to get the Hulk out? Never mind, don't worry about him."
Even if Hulk does come out, all Li En needs to do is video chat with him for a bit, and Hulk will jump off the spaceship to find him.
He wasn't without reason when he said that.
Li En had mentioned to him before that Hulk was essentially a newborn child.
Emotions are primal, reactions are direct, and due to their inherent characteristics, they are always locked in a continuous state of anger.
So as long as he is given a clear target to vent his anger, he will rush towards it without hesitation.
If Hulk really does come out, we can just have Jarvis connect to Lee's video call and tell Hulk, "Lee is waiting for you down here."
The Hulk will handle the rest himself.
Tony snapped out of his thoughts, reached out and tapped the holographic screen beside him, bringing up a new set of data: "The agents controlled by Loki obtained a large amount of iridium for him."
Combined with the information Thor just brought back—the Tesseract itself has the ability to open spatial portals.
Now he only lacks one thing: a powerful enough energy source to continuously and stably heat iridium.
He stopped mid-sentence.
"Stark Tower," Banner added for him from the side.
He put down his coffee cup, his tone calm.
"Tony, is your new Arc Reactor finished?"
I remember you planned to release it simultaneously with Lee Eun's election as mayor.
Banner was also involved in part of this project.
Tony was able to move the new reactor from a theoretical model to a finished product in such a short time.
Banner was of great help in terms of energy transfer pathways and reactor core stability.
Tony's original plan was to release this achievement together with Lee's election.
Once Li En announces that the city's electricity prices will be reduced to one-fiftieth of the original price or even lower, his approval rating will no longer be capped at 90%.
In all of New York, no one would not vote for him, and this trend will likely spread throughout the United States very quickly.
From mayor to governor, from governor to member of Congress, from member of Congress to president.
At that time, the road to the White House for Lee En would be paved in a very short time.
But now, this energy achievement, which has not yet been unveiled, has caught the eye of Loki.
Tony pursed his lips, his expression suggesting he was about to say something offensive, but he didn't make a sound.
He pieced together all the clues and quickly came to a conclusion: "We're all here now, and Lee En is at the police station too."
Loki deliberately let himself be captured to draw all our attention to the mothership, allowing his men to slip in and activate the reactors at Stark Tower.
"Jarvis, is Stark Tower being breached?"
"Sir," Jarvis's synthesized voice came from the ceiling speaker, his tone as unhurried as ever.
"About half an hour ago, the building's security system did detect unauthorized intrusion."
But Mr. Li En had given me advance notice, telling me not to do anything.
Everything is working.
Several pairs of eyes met silently in the air in the laboratory.
Everyone realized the same thing: Loki, the so-called god of mischief and son of Odin, the king of gods, had been made a fool of by Li En from beginning to end.
There's absolutely nothing to worry about.
Then Jarvis's voice rang out again, this time with a subtle pause in his tone that almost seemed like an illusion.
"Mr. Li En's predetermined time has arrived, and he asked me to play a pre-recorded video."
Tony's eyelids twitched: "Let's see it."
A holographic light screen unfolded in the center of the laboratory.
The image shows Lee sitting in his Manhattan police station office, with a filing cabinet leaning precariously against the wall behind him and fluorescent lights humming softly above his head.
He looked at the camera and said, slowly and deliberately, "Banner, let the Hulk out to play."
The video cuts off here.
The light curtain shrank to a line and disappeared into mid-air.
Banner stopped holding his coffee cup near his mouth.
He slowly turned around and looked at Steve, who was standing not far away.
Steve's expression hadn't even had a chance to react.
Nick Fury had somehow moved behind Banner.
He raised his pistol and aimed it at Banner's back.
boom.
The bullet pierced Bruce Banner's back, tearing through skin and muscle, heading straight for his steadily beating heart deep within his chest cavity.
The trajectory was precise and ruthless, without any hesitation.
Banner's body lurched forward, the coffee cup slipped from his fingers, and shattered on the floor.
He stumbled a couple of steps, braced his hands on the edge of the control panel in front of him, and looked down at the bullet hole in his chest from which blood was seeping out.
The skin started to turn green.
