Chapter 6 The British Museum
Chapter 6 The British Museum
"So, when I get the other ring, I'll need a hobbit to prevent me from succumbing to the temptation to wear the other ring?" Salomon asked.
"Yes, to wear all the rings at once and completely control the magic of Vishanti." The Sorcerer Supreme nodded and said, "This experiment is to verify whether you have the ability to control the magic of Vishanti."
"So I also need a nice guy who won't say 'my darling,' I know that kind of allure that comes from the bone." Salomon secretly rolled his eyes, because he remembered the high temperature released when the Vishanti's ring came into contact with magic, but where was he going to find someone who hadn't been in contact with magic?
Seemingly sensing Salomon's doubts, the Ancient One readily sold off one of her apprentices: "Master Wang has not yet signed a contract with the Vishanti. What he is currently learning is only the secret arts of Kamar-Taj. He has not made any progress in the Vishanti lineage of magic and does not involve the Vishanti's magic..."
Salomon and the Sorcerer Supreme happily decided on the Hobbits, and after bidding farewell to his teacher, he returned to his room—this time he had gained a lot, as he could slowly browse through the memories of one of the Archmages.
Salomon has no intention of leaving Kamar-Taj again until he has mastered the first two rings of spells from this mage.
Yes, even child rights organizations won't be able to find him! That's right! Quickly unplug the internet cable in the room! The magical world doesn't need the internet.
Well... it's temporary.
Salomon already had a plan; he intended to use the Vishanti's magic to operate the magic of Toril or other worlds.
It should be noted that the magic provided by the magic network is the most basic true ether, or MANA. As long as the spell structure is correct, any type of magic can be used.
Of course, because Vishanti's power is too luminous, some necromancy spells still require his own magic power to support them.
But things didn't go as planned. While Salomon was studying the magic of the Toril universe, Baron Mordo came knocking on his door.
This mage, who was also a disciple of the Sorcerer Supreme, was quite friendly to Salomon. At the same time, whenever he met him, Baron Mordo would always say silly things like, "I held you when you were little"... Well, now I finally know why I was so uncomfortable for a while back then.
Baron Mordo came to Salomon to train him in the use of magical artifacts... Kamar-Taj's magical artifacts might be a little different from others.
For example, the Living Tribunal's scepter... in fact, it has little to do with the Living Tribunal; calling it a scepter is more like calling it a whip. And then there's the Boots of Fodor. This isn't called a magical artifact; it should be called a magical artifact. The biggest function of these boots is to allow people to double jump... not exactly useful, but not that bad either, right?
This is something even the Devil Man with hairspray hands couldn't do.
"You've already learned how to fight with your body, haven't you?" Baron Mordo smiled like a fox who had stolen some chicken. "Now you need to practice how to use weapons in combat."
We're not wizards from fairy tales who can cast spells with just a stick.
"Uh... I don't think there's anything wrong with that, Brother Mordo... As long as it's enough for close combat..." Salomon tried to refuse the training, but Baron Mordo had seen too many slackers.
He grabbed Salomon by the back of his collar and dragged him away like a kitten.
"That's a misconception, Salomon," Mordo said gently. "Beings from other dimensions don't give us time to cast spells."
Salomon gave up struggling completely. Although he couldn't see the expression on Baron Mordo's dark face, he knew he couldn't escape.

"So, the Sorcerer Supreme sent you here to retrieve a magical artifact, and you're making me your hobbit?" the increasingly "robust" Little King Sorcerer said with dissatisfaction.
To be honest, Salomon hadn't expected the young mage to look so old. The young mage said, "Do you think I'm Frodo? I think I look more like Sam."
"You are indeed similar in build, my friend, but you can't cook," Salomon said. "And I think I need your fists."
"So you've finally realized that fists are more effective than magic?" Little Wang the mage said happily. "Look, even though I couldn't sign the contract with the Vishanti, I can still defeat you during training."
"Pah! If it weren't for you taking advantage of me while I was chanting the spell..."
It was 2007, and twelve-year-old Salomon had already learned some Toril spells and Kamar-Taj spells, and he had mastered the basics of Demonfire Shaping.
The two of them arrived in London through the portal from Kamar-Taj to the London Temple. The city seemed to have just rained. The cobblestone streets were slippery, but the rain seemed to have cleansed the air, and the small amount of ozone made it much fresher.
While it still couldn't compare to the crisp, clean air of Kamar-Taj, it was much better than some big cities—the only problem was that Salomon accidentally stepped into a puddle, and all the shoes issued by Kamar-Taj got soaked.
"Don't make that face, Salomon. Mordo has given you British citizenship, so you'll have to get used to this kind of weather." Little Wang seemed somewhat gloating. "The Sorcerer Supreme seems to want you to attend a secular school, right here in England."
"To be precise, that's basic logical thinking education. Most of the sorcerers who come to Kamar-Taj have received worldly education." Salomon shook his head, lifted his leg and continued walking forward, his shoes creaking under his feet. "Mathematics, physics, chemistry—the Sorcerer Supreme said these are essential qualities."
"But I didn't learn it."
"It's very likely because you were born in Kamar-Taj that you don't even have health insurance. But I think once you gain magic power, Kamar-Taj will create an identity for you." Salomon concealed part of the truth; the Sorcerer Supreme had instructed him to tell others that he had already signed a pact with the Vishanti.
No one could have imagined that Salomon was merely using Vishanti's magic—the Sorcerer Supreme was very familiar with this method. The Ancient One obtained Dormammu's power in the same way, only now it was being used on Vishanti.
"Moreover, this magical artifact needs to be wielded by someone whose connection to magic isn't that deep, in order to avoid backlash." Salomon glanced at the Little King Mage out of the corner of his eye.
As expected, Master Wang was still somewhat resentful about not being able to sign a contract.
"Don't worry," he comforted the young mage. "The Supreme Mage certainly has his reasons, but you're more powerful than those who can use magic now, aren't you?"
"Do you mean in terms of not needing to sleep?"
"Uh... does that count?"
"So, what should we do?" Master Wang asked, somewhat dissatisfied.
"First, we need to go inside." The moment Salomon and the young sorcerer stepped into the British Museum, located on Russell Square north of New Oxford Street, they sensed something was wrong—the magic here seemed much stronger than elsewhere.
"Did you find anything?" Little Master Wang also found something, but after looking around, he found nothing.
"Look over there." Salomon pointed to the exhibits, where there was a bronze statue of Shiva, a wooden sculpture from the Nicobar Islands, a marble Yaksha statue of "Ambika," frescoes from the Parthenon, a head of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, and most importantly, sacrificial artifacts from various Earth pantheons, each pantheon having its own.
Although the Sorcerer Supreme had already mentioned to Salomon the divine power contained within those artifacts and magical implements, this immense power still startled him.
"You mean...we're going to rob the museum?" Master Wang lowered his voice. "Is one of the magical artifacts in this collection?"
"No, it's not..." Salomon lowered his voice, and the two whispered nervously to each other, "It's the guardian of this place?"
"Didn't you notice?" Salomon glanced to the side. "Those spirits?"
