Chapter 5 Shocking Gossip

"What Ten Commandments?" Salomon asked, puzzled.

Have you read the story of King Solomon?

"It is said that King Solomon commanded seventy-two demons, and the initial construction of the Temple of Israel was his doing. However, it is speculated that the construction of the temple may have involved the help of demons. As for the ten rings, they are the proof of wisdom recognized by God, and also the means by which he commands angels and demons," said the Supreme Master. "King Solomon performed only one miracle, and in the end, he returned the rings to heaven by his own will."

"What does this have to do with my Stigmata?"

Under the disapproving gaze of the Ancient One, Salomon turned his head away... He had indeed not read any explanations about Stigmata.

"Magic originated from the theory of idols, which is to acquire the attributes of a subject by imitating the whole or parts of it. The simplest magic is seeing and hearing." The Sorcerer Supreme tapped Salomon's head with his folding fan to make him turn his head back.

She continued, "Stigmata are marks left by the execution of the Son of God, but the marks on your fingers are not those of the Son of God, but rather marks similar to those of King Solomon. I don't know what to call these marks, so I call them stigmata, and I also call you a saint—which is different from the saints recognized by the Roman Catholic Church."

"And we at Kamar-Taj, the organization known to the outside world as the Sorcerer's Guild, have one of our main duties as purging these dark sorcerers."

"Okay, then teacher, could you tell me where Sithon or Dormammu came from?"

"Very well, this is also a missing link in basic education. I've always worried that once people know their names, they'll hear their calls and turn to these dangerous Old Gods. But this is a private lesson, and no one will disturb you," the Sorcerer Supreme said. "What you hear from now on must be deeply ingrained in your mind."

The Sorcerer Supreme nodded and began to gossip about the ancient world: "Sithon was a life form born from the God of Life, one of the earliest life forms on Earth. He is known as the Great Shadow or the God of Dark Magic. Other life forms born from him are called Mother Earth Gaia, Set, and so on."

Billions of years ago, the natural life force of Earth's biosphere gave birth to a group of ancient gods. Afterwards, they began to kill and devour each other, and some even turned into demons. Sithon was one of them.

To end this fate, Gaia, the Earth Mother, and the God of Life gave birth to Atem. Atem continuously destroyed those corrupted ancient gods, but later fell and became an incredibly powerful God Eater, whom even the combined forces of Sithon and Set could not defeat.

In the end, to escape being devoured by the God Eaters, Sithon and Set were forced to flee to other dimensions. As for Atum's whereabouts afterward, it is said that he merged with the sun and formed the sun god, but no one can be sure whether this is true or not.

The power left behind by Atem gave rise to a new group of gods, including the Norse pantheon.

Odin, the king of the gods, possessed immense Odin power. He waged wars everywhere, ruled Asgard, created the World Tree, and divided the universe into ten realms. Meanwhile, various gods appeared in other parts of Earth, including the Jade Emperor and other Earth pantheons.

Then there's Gaia, the Earth Mother. Gaia and her other son, Euranus, had Crolus, whose sons included Zeus, forming the Greek pantheon you're reading about in the storybook.

"I'm not entirely sure what happened, why the World Tree's ten realms became the current nine realms, but in any case, in the very distant past, the Celestials, the administrators created by the Eternal God, clashed with these new gods on Earth... In short, these new gods left Earth to varying degrees before the advent of human civilization."

The Sorcerer Supreme paused, and Salomon quickly poured his teacher a cup of tea and used magic to keep it warm.

The Ancient One nodded in satisfaction and continued, "Next, we will talk about the Triune Vishanti—one of whom, Agamotto, was the first Sorcerer Supreme. He specialized in foresight and truth, he understood the mysteries of the universe, and he forged the most precious treasure of Kamar-Taj, the Eye of Agamotto, as well as the Agamotto amulet, the Agamotto crystal ball, and so on."

Hogos is a very ancient and powerful magical entity whose true form is said to be incomprehensible to most mortals. Therefore, Hogos usually appears before human magicians in the form of a tiger.

Sometimes he also appears in the form of a human face. The Path of Horgos and the Mist of Horgos that he created can help travelers pass through the realm of nightmares, and the spells of Horgos can cause people to fall asleep and forget.

The last Vishanti, also an ancient god, was named Oshutu, another "daughter" of the god of life. She was associated with the sky, wisdom, and reason, and was the origin of white magic.

When the existence of Sithon posed a threat to Earth and even the entire universe, Oshutu gave birth to Agamotto—yes, Agamotto, one of the Vishanti Trinity, yet she was in fact genderless.

"Here's another tidbit... Hmm, not bad, Salomon, your magic is improving very quickly." The Ancient One picked up her teacup, feeling the perfect temperature, and at the same time lowered her voice and blinked, as if she were talking behind someone's back.

"It is said that Hogos comes from an ancient and mysterious race, and he is the last survivor of this race, which has existed for millions of years or even longer."

One day, Hogos met Oshutu, who was exploring different universes. He taught Oshutu many things and helped her understand the value of other life forms. He later continued to travel with Oshutu.

So Hogos is very likely Agamotto's father... Of course, this is something that can't be said to outsiders.

The Sorcerer Supreme's tone became serious. "Remember, even if you get another ring, don't wear it immediately—find the remaining two, and wear them at the same time... Then your abilities will allow you to fully control the magic of Vishanti."
