Chapter 13 The Tree of Life
Chapter 13 The Tree of Life (Seeking Investment!)
Salomon had a dream in which he saw an enormous tree growing in a calm ocean, with two giant snakes coiled around it.
He saw a huge crystal ring embedded at the very bottom of the tree trunk, with four colors of light: orange-yellow, olive-green, reddish-brown, and black.
Moreover, as his gaze gradually rose higher, the rings on both sides of the tree trunk lit up with various colors, but it seemed that his vision became increasingly blurred as he climbed higher.
He could barely make out the highest ring, which was made of diamond, surrounded by wings, and shimmering with white light.
He looked down again and saw the reflection of the giant tree deeply buried in the mist. Salomon couldn't see the reflection clearly, but he could vaguely make out that the shape of the rings on the giant tree in the reflection was very different. Upon closer inspection, he saw that those rings, together with the branches, formed five parts, corresponding to the pentagram formed by the rings and branches on the giant tree.
He heard a soft whisper in his ear, a voice that spoke to him about the key to the kingdom of spirits.
But before Salomon could listen carefully, he found himself far from the ocean.
"You're awake? But you still need to rest." A calm voice reached Salomon's ears, and only then did he realize that he had woken up from the dream.
When Salomon opened his eyes wearily, he saw the Venerable One sitting beside him. The flames made of magic were gone, and his lips were no longer cracked and parched.
He only remembered putting on all the rings and unleashing amazing magic, but he had no memory of what happened after that.
He turned his eyes and found himself in Kamar-Taj headquarters, in his own bedroom. After all, he was the only otaku in Kamar-Taj, and an otaku's bedroom was always a little different; the others didn't have game consoles in their rooms.
He tried to raise his hand, but found he had no strength to do so; he wanted to speak, but couldn't open his mouth.
"You were too reckless this time, but the result was still good. In the end, you managed to tame the Vishanti's Ring. Don't worry, the King is fine, and he didn't tell anyone about it. Everyone else thought you were attacked by a dark wizard." Seeing that Salomon was about to say something, the Venerable tapped his head lightly with his folding fan.
"I originally intended to wait until your soul was stronger before putting the ring on you, but I didn't expect you to do it first. But it's fine, now you can practice the magic of the Vishanti lineage properly," the Venerable said. "Alright, I also fed that snake for you, so you can rest assured now. Rest a little longer."
Salomon blinked rapidly, struggling to say something, but the Ancient One ignored him and instead used magic to secure the blanket, ensuring that only his head was exposed.
Seeing this, Salomon had no choice but to give up struggling and resignedly close his eyes. Anyway, the blanket was quite warm; oh well, that's it. The blanket demon's seal was too powerful. He'd sleep a little longer…
Not long after the Sorcerer Supreme left Salomon's bedroom, another person stealthily opened the carved wooden door and tiptoed in, like a dancing bear.
His weight betrayed his identity as he stepped onto the creaking wooden floor.
"Hey, Junior Brother Salomon, you scared me to death! You've been sleeping for days and haven't even had a drink of water." A chubby figure appeared before Salomon, pulling him out of his slumber.
He said, "I just saw His Holiness go out, so I know you are alright."
Tell me, what happened? Does the Venerable One forbid us from speaking about this?
Salomon opened his eyes and looked at the young mage, his eyes filled with joy. He blinked quickly twice, but the young mage nodded and patted his chest. "I understand what you mean. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone."
What did you understand? That's not what I meant!
Salomon blinked twice more and mumbled something indistinctly.
"Let me go..."
The young monk leaned closer, ignoring Salomon and rambling on to himself. Through the monk's incessant chatter, Salomon finally understood what had happened after he put on the ring.
After the magical storm tore the ghost apart and blew the young mage over several times, the Triune Vishanti appeared before Salomon.
They were high above, three powerful magical entities surrounding Salomon, their immense magical power enveloping him like surging waves.
Immediately afterwards, the orange-red flames formed by magic spread outwards like the wrath of Vishanti.
The asphalt road surface softened and bubbled, the roadside trees were instantly ignited, the expanding hot air stirred up a gale, carrying dust and burning ash, the enormous energy smashed the stone walls of the abandoned building, and everything around melted into an unknown sticky substance under the raging flames.
The young mage had already prostrated himself. As a member of Kamar-Taj, how could he not recognize the Triune Vishanti?
Damn it! Damn it! What task did the Venerable One give Salomon?! What are those rings?! Why are they related to Vishanti?! It seems those rings have definitely blasphemed Vishanti!
Master Wang cursed inwardly.
At that time, he already believed that Salomon was doomed. In such high temperatures, if he did not cast protective magic, his only fate would be to be burned by the flames.
Master Wang felt that in the end he would only see Salomon's charred and brittle bones.
He had always liked Salomon, and unlike the other children in Kamar-Taj, Salomon was never noisy. But now Salomon was dead—he had no time to grieve; he just wanted to find a safe place to hide.
Kamar-Taj's planetary defense system will definitely be able to detect the magical fluctuations here. He can only wait for his fellow disciples to clean up the mess. He has also figured out how to shoulder the responsibility for this disaster.
But when Salomon's shroud was torn off, the immense and uncontrollable magical power suddenly subsided.
The young monk found it difficult to describe the scene he witnessed. He saw Salomon's body emitting an extremely dazzling light amidst the flames. When the young monk saw that light, he felt as if he had glimpsed countless profound and complex pieces of knowledge.
It seemed the Vishanti, as a unified entity, had begun communicating. The young mage couldn't understand a word they were saying, only vaguely discerning a few words: "angel" and "demon," two commonly used terms in occultism. When he heard other words, he felt a flood of unfiltered information being crammed into his brain, leaving him dizzy and disoriented.
"I didn't remember anything except two words," the young monk said afterwards, still shaken. "Next time you're going to do something this scary, you have to tell me first. Don't look at me like that, I'll definitely run away first."
"His soul is powerful enough." Compared to the other two magical entities whose gender and form are not fixed, Agamotto, who served as the first Sorcerer Supreme, was much more tolerant of humans.
When Salomon put on the ring, the former Sorcerer Supreme defended him, saying, "Besides, he's the current Sorcerer Supreme's disciple, you know what that means!"
"But he's a thief!" roared Hogos, who had a tiger's head. "If it weren't for the Ancient One, he couldn't have found the ring!"
Agamotto looked at his mother, Oshutu, the source of white magic, but Oshutu remained silent. So Agamotto said, "Our rings must be used by someone, mustn't they?"
"Then why didn't he sign a contract?"
"You know the limitations of our contract, and that he'll lose our magic the moment he takes off the ring. Maybe that's a good thing; we can..."
Suddenly, the immense magical power vanished, and the phantom of Vishanti disappeared without a trace. The young mage cautiously raised his head. If it weren't for the lingering hot air, the still-burning buildings, and the charred, acrid pavement, he would have thought that what he had just experienced was all an illusion.
He wiped away his tears and sweat, and with his protective charm activated, he walked across the softened ground toward Salomon, who was at the epicenter of the disaster. All he wanted was to bring Salomon back...
But as he approached, he saw that Salomon's withered and charred chest still had a faint rise and fall.
He was overwhelmed with joy.
As long as he's not dead, the Sorcerer Supreme can definitely bring him back! If not, there's always the Eye of Agamotto! That's an artifact that can reverse time!
"Then the Venerable One opened a portal and brought us back. No one else saw you the whole time," the young mage whispered. "The Venerable One used magic to repair your body. Don't worry, just tell me, and I promise I won't tell anyone."
Salomon blinked, trying his best to express himself, managing to utter a few indistinct words. But the young mage couldn't understand him at all.
"go out……"
"Why are you blinking so much?" he asked.
You bastard! I haven't been to the toilet for days! Let me out, you jerk!
I need investment!!!
