"I never expected you to be so resourceful, managing to find your way here. I am truly astonished!" Connor said with a smile, after giving the woman in purple a thorough once-over.

"Surprised? Young Master Connor didn't deliver the goods to the Empire State Building as agreed, didn't you even consider that I would come back to find you?" The woman in purple robes walked step by step from the bedroom door to Connor, speaking with a half-smile:

"Oh? So this is what you've come for today, Miss. I've already successfully crafted the small bowl you needed, but I've been so busy these past few days that I completely forgot about it. Since you're here today, why not take the bowl with you?" A hidden glint of murderous intent flashed in Connor's eyes as he smiled and politely extended his hand, gesturing for the woman in purple to follow him up to the second floor of the apartment.

"Heh!" With two cold laughs, the woman in purple robes seemed unfazed by Connor's tricks and followed him straight up to the second floor.

As he walked up the stairs, sensing the purple-robed woman about five meters behind him, a faint, eerie smile appeared on Connor's lips, and he silently recited a spell in his mind.

"Snap!"

Just as Connor stepped onto the second floor, and the woman in purple robes behind him was still five or six steps away from the second floor, the steps she was standing on suddenly cracked open, and then a foul-smelling venom sprayed up from the cracked steps.

At that moment, Connor suddenly turned around and unleashed three mental shocks at the purple-robed woman behind him. At the same time, Connor flicked his wrist, and two shadow daggers that had become invisible shot out instantly.

As an alchemist, how could Connor not install some small mechanisms in his own home?

As soon as Connor stepped into his house, he realized there was something wrong, but he didn't know the strength of the person on the other end, so he didn't act rashly. He planned to contact Reyes for help through the communication paper, but the purple-robed woman's sudden attack made Connor realize that although her cultivation level was higher than his, she was only a mid-level apprentice. Realizing this, Connor immediately changed his mind.

Regardless of what the woman in the purple robe was thinking or what her purpose was, now that she had seen through his identity, Connor absolutely could not let her leave alive. Coincidentally, the small garden in front of his apartment also needed some fertilizer to nourish the soil.

Faced with Connor's sudden attack, the woman in purple robes was initially dizzy and stunned by Connor's mental shock, but she quickly recovered. With a flick of her purple robe, she blew a gust of wind that had sprayed venom from the steps aside, and then she leaped off the steps as if she were flying, jumping directly to the second floor.

Even though she jumped down the steps to the second floor, the two shadow daggers controlled by Connor followed her like a shadow. Before the woman in purple robes could even stand firmly on the second floor, she had already killed her.

The Shadow Dagger was incredibly fast. By the time the purple-robed woman's mental energy detected it, it was too late. Her eyes behind the mask changed slightly, but her hands moved without hesitation. Wearing exquisite crocodile-skin gloves, her two slender hands flipped over, and a dark red orb of light emitting a faint bloody smell appeared in mid-air.

"Scararos..." the purple-robed woman screamed, and as the incantation appeared, the dark red sphere in mid-air immediately exploded, forming a layer of eerie blood mist that enveloped the purple-robed woman just before the shadow dagger pierced her body.

"what!"

Connor let out a low growl of pain as waves of sharp pain swept through his nerves. He could clearly feel the two shadow daggers, which he controlled with his mental power, being continuously corroded within the blood mist. This corrosion of the shadow daggers also indirectly harmed him through the mental connection.

Fortunately, Connor also realized that even though the appearance of the blood mist served a protective function, his two shadow daggers still managed to harm the purple-robed woman.

To avoid further damage to the Shadow Dagger from the blood mist, Connor hesitated for a moment and quickly sheathed the dagger. Looking at the pale red, corroded marks on the dagger in his hand, Connor seemed to realize something and exclaimed in surprise, "Blood magic?"

As soon as the words "blood witchcraft" were uttered, Connor's gaze toward the blood mist gradually became extremely solemn.

In the Kaman Empire, there are some extremely evil and cruel spells known as forbidden arts. Anyone who practices these forbidden arts will be relentlessly hunted down by the Imperial government, the Earth God Cult, and the Storm Church. Once, a formal wizard slaughtered a small village within the Kaman Empire in order to practice the forbidden art of Black Soul. He was chased by the three forces all the way from the Kaman Empire to the New World. In the end, he did not escape his fate, and his soul is still imprisoned in the Imperial government's purgatory, suffering endless torment.

The blood mist that Connor is now seeing, which appears to be blood witchcraft, is also a forbidden technique that is explicitly prohibited from being practiced by anyone in Kaman!

"Connor Ferguson, I want you dead!" A woman's venomous voice came from within the blood mist, but this voice was completely different from the one of the purple-robed woman from before.

Connor's ears twitched slightly, and a thoughtful expression appeared on his face. He felt as if he had heard the purple-robed woman's voice from somewhere before...

Just as Connor was trying his best to recall when he had heard the sound, a new movement occurred within the blood mist. A dark red light shone brightly from within the blood mist, and countless blood threads shot out from the mist towards Connor.

Having learned his lesson from the Shadow Dagger's corrosion, Connor dared not be careless in the face of these eerie blood streaks. He immediately revealed his strongest trump card. After a short, low chant, black flames appeared in Connor's palm, quickly condensing into two thick chains engraved with mysterious runes. With a hum, these chains overlapped in front of Connor, forming an impenetrable chain shield that firmly protected him.

"Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!"

The blood streaks struck the shield formed by the shadow chains, producing a crisp sound at the point of impact, but they were unable to penetrate the shadow chains and harm Connor himself.

"A natural spell?" This time it was the purple-robed woman in the blood mist who exclaimed in surprise.

The moment the purple-robed woman in the blood mist realized that the chains blocking Connor's path were a natural spell, the atmosphere in the apartment instantly became strange. Both seemed to understand that they each had their own trump cards.
