Chapter 961 The End of the Rebellion

After struggling for a few seconds, Domenech, a retired Imperial Army Major General and elder of the Ferguson family, fell straight to the ground, lifeless.

After killing Domenech, Arbeloa's work was not over. He put the dagger that had slit Domenech's throat into Domenech's own hand, and then cleaned up the scene to make it look like Domenech's death was not murder but suicide after his failed rebellion.

Watching Arbeloa complete his work efficiently, Connor, who had observed the entire process, nodded in satisfaction. He then instructed Arbeloa again, "Jack Ferguson and his family are heading towards the east gate of the manor. Arbeloa, go and handle it!"

Upon hearing Connor's order, Arbeloa hesitated for a moment, then gritted his teeth and asked Connor, "Young Master, Jack Ferguson and Eugenia brought their children to the manor this time to mislead Butler Martinez and make him believe that Jack Ferguson had truly attempted suicide and suffered serious injuries requiring recovery. Jack Ferguson and Eugenia's cholera family deserved to die, but their children are your brothers and sisters, Young Master Connor..."

Seeing that Arbeloa seemed to have some objection to his orders, Connor, who had previously admired Arbeloa, immediately changed his expression, gave Arbeloa a deep look, and said, "Arbeloa, don't let me down!"

After saying that, Connor stopped listening to Arbeloa and, wanting to say something more, turned and walked out of the family library. In a little over an hour, Butler Martinez would return to Ferguson Manor with reinforcements to quell the rebellion, and it was time for him, the protagonist, to make his appearance.

Watching Connor's departing figure, Arbeloa couldn't help but look troubled. Connor appreciated him, gave him opportunities, and even bestowed upon him valuable cultivation resources to improve his strength. More importantly, his life was now in Connor's hands. From any perspective, he shouldn't disobey Connor's orders. However, the thought of actually killing several young children... he really did have some reservations.

After hesitating for a few seconds, Arbeloa sighed, then walked out of the family library and headed towards the east gate of the manor.

Unaware of the impending danger, Jack Ferguson, Eugeniev, was with his three children and some valuables, boarding a carriage caravan under the protection of several trusted bodyguards.

As the carriage slowly pulled out of Ferguson Manor and headed south towards Frosinone, Jack Ferguson, seemingly sensing something, asked his wife Eugenia across the carriage, "Where are we going now?"

"Of course, we should go to a safe place!" Hearing Jack Ferguson's question, Eugenia felt a slight unease, but still replied quite naturally:

Upon hearing Eugenia's words, Jack Ferguson seemed to realize something, a cold smile appearing on his face. He said to Eugenia in a chilling voice, "Eugenia, you're not trying to tell me we're going to Thresburg, are you?"

"Jack Ferguson, if not Thresburg, where would you like to go?"

"Don't forget, although we've made preparations, how could that old bastard Martinez let us off so easily? If you don't go to Thresburg and seek help from our da Silva family, Jack Ferguson, aren't you afraid of being intercepted and killed by Martinez's men?" Seeing Jack Ferguson about to provoke her, Eugenia spoke directly:

"snort!"

Jack Ferguson responded to Eugenia's words with a cold snort, then said without any politeness, "Eugenia, don't think I don't know what you're up to. You took me with you just for the money I have, didn't you?"

"Once we get to Thresburg, to your da Silva family's territory, won't you be able to do whatever you want with me? You'll squeeze every last penny out of me, and I'll still be doomed anyway."

"In that case, what's the difference between me and being ambushed and killed by Martinez's men?"

"Driver! Stop the carriage right now, I want to get off and go somewhere else!" Jack Ferguson shouted at the coachman as soon as he realized what was happening.

Upon hearing Jack Ferguson's order, the coachman obediently stopped the carriage, and as the carriage came to a halt, the entire convoy also came to a stop.

Seeing the carriage stop, Jack Ferguson glared fiercely at Eugenia, then stood up, intending to get off and part ways with her. Seeing her husband, who had seen through her scheme, about to leave, and her plans about to be thwarted, Eugenia, in that critical moment, a ruthless glint in her eyes, seized the opportunity as Jack Ferguson was about to alight from the carriage, grabbed a wooden stick from the carriage, and struck him hard on the back of the head.

Although he was a formal knight, Jack Ferguson lacked training due to years of not fighting, and he was caught off guard by Eugenia's sneak attack from behind. Before he could react, he screamed and was knocked unconscious by Eugenia.

At that moment, the bodyguards who had dismounted from the carriages and were on guard heard Jack Ferguson's scream and immediately saw Eugenia holding a wooden stick while Jack Ferguson collapsed on the ground.

Although they didn't know what had happened, seeing Jack Ferguson collapse on the ground, some of his loyal bodyguards immediately wanted to rush forward to help and treat him. Just then, Eugenia coldly shouted, "Do it!"

As Eugenia gave the order, the bodyguards she had bribed immediately drew their weapons and hacked several bodyguards loyal to Jack Ferguson to death on the spot.

After eliminating those loyal to Jack Ferguson, Eugenia smiled with satisfaction. Pointing at Jack Ferguson, she continued to command, "Gag him, tie him up completely, and put him in the last carriage. Except for necessary meals and toilet breaks, he's not allowed to have contact with anyone!"

No sooner had Eugenia given her order than a new situation arose: countless wisps of gray smoke, seemingly appearing from nowhere, were rapidly spreading towards them from the surrounding silent wilderness forest…
