Wizard Earl

Chapter 960 The End of the Rebellion

Faced with Domenech's question, Arbeloa frowned slightly, unsure how to answer. Just then, footsteps sounded again on the second floor of the library, and then a person who was both unfamiliar and familiar to Domenech appeared in front of him.

Seeing Connor approaching, Arbeloa, who was pondering whether to answer Domenech's question, immediately put aside his thoughts, turned around, bowed deeply to Connor, and then pointed at Domenech, respectfully saying, "Young Master Connor, this man is the mastermind behind this armed rebellion, the traitor to the family, Domenech!"

Connor glanced at Domenech, then at Arbeloa, offering no comment. He then walked up to the disheveled Domenech and, looking at this family elder who still held some recollection of him, asked, "Although we haven't had much contact within the family, in my memory, Domenech, you weren't particularly greedy for the family's wealth and power. So, can you tell me why you betrayed the family along with my second uncle and the others?"

Upon hearing Connor's words, Domenech finally snapped out of his shock, a wry smile appearing on his face. He hesitated for a moment, meeting Connor's gaze, but ultimately made no attempt to hide anything, saying directly, "Young Master Connor, I didn't expect you to have returned to the family... Since you asked, there's no harm in telling you!"

"I have a very serious heart condition. The church pastor told me that the only ways to survive are to be healed by a wizard or to become a wizard myself. I heard that the secret documents in the family library contain the method to become a wizard, and those documents are only for the head of the family and you, young master Connor!"

"In that case, Domenech, it's a real shame. While the secret documents in the library do contain some information about the wizarding world, they don't provide a method to become a wizard!" Connor shook his head, speaking calmly and without a trace of emotion.

"Young Master Connor, I know you will never let me go for what I've done today, so I don't beg for my life. But could you please, for the sake of my past service to the family, answer two questions and let me die knowing the truth?" Taking a deep breath, Domenech looked earnestly at Connor and said:

"Okay! Ask away, I'll tell you everything I know!" Connor said without hesitation.

"Young Master Connor, are you a wizard?" Domenech asked immediately after receiving an affirmative answer from Connor.

"That's right, I am a wizard, but I became a wizard not because of those secret materials in my family, but because of a series of coincidences outside! Don't you use your brain? If those secret materials really contained a way to become a wizard, wouldn't our ancestors have become wizards long ago?" Connor looked at the poor guy in front of him with some pity.

Upon hearing Connor's answer, Domenech shuddered, nearly collapsing to the ground. His eyes immediately filled with despair. He had considered Connor's words, but currently, threatened by his heart condition, he was like a person drowning in water, constantly at risk of death. For him, the legendary secrets about becoming a wizard, recorded in the family library, were his lifeline, a lifeline that could save him from this peril. Therefore, his only option was to cling tightly to this lifeline, refusing to let go no matter what…

Seeing Domenech's sorrowful expression and his silent, downcast gaze, Connor grew impatient and asked, "Domenech, what is your second question?"

Hearing Connor's words, Domenech composed himself, then looked at Connor with some confusion and said, "Young Master Connor, now that you've returned to the family, why don't you show yourself? If you had shown yourself, all of this could have been avoided!"

At this point, Domenech looked at Connor with a hint of regret. If Connor had returned sooner, with his status as the first heir protected by the Imperial Succession Act and the support of his mother's Francis Foundation, Connor becoming the head of the Ferguson family, or Earl Ferguson, would have been a foregone conclusion. The current family feud would never have occurred.

If things had turned out that way, things wouldn't be in this situation now. In fact, based on his past contributions to the Ferguson family, Domenech might still be able to receive treatment from Connor, a wizard!

Upon hearing Domenech's question, Connor smiled slightly and said calmly, "The Ferguson family right now is like a garbage dump, full of rubbish and parasites. I want to change all that, to clean out the rubbish and parasites, and to make the Ferguson family brand new. But you know, if I want to participate in this game, I must first play by the rules. I can't just do whatever I want. So I need an excuse to do what I want!"

At this point, Connor paused, giving a meaningful look to the stunned family elder Domenech, then patted him on the shoulder and said, "Honestly, Domenech, I really have to thank you. Your armed rebellion gave me the perfect excuse to cleanse the Ferguson family!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Connor gave Arbeloa a look behind him, then walked to the side. Arbeloa, who understood Connor's meaning, also walked towards Domenech.

In his final moments, Domenech finally snapped out of the shock of Connor's words. Leaning on his cross sword, tears streaming down his face, he burst into wild laughter: "Hahaha, so that's how it is, so that's how it is! Connor Ferguson, you really are a ruthless character. I curse you to never...

Before Domenech could finish speaking, Arbeloa, who was already in front of him, appeared with a cold glint in his eyes. At the same time, a dagger appeared in his hand, and with a light flick of his arm, he slit Domenech's throat.

With his throat slit, bright red blood gushed out of the wound. Domenech instinctively grabbed his throat with both hands, trying to stop the blood from flowing out of the wound. Unfortunately, despite his best efforts to stop the bleeding, his consciousness quickly faded, and his strength drained away from his body like a receding tide.
