Wizard Earl

Chapter 923 Past Events

After receiving this answer from Connor, Philo didn't seem surprised. He pointed to himself and said to Connor, "Connor Ferguson, since you're here, you must know that I'm known as the Blood Moon Ruler because the meditation method I practice is the Blood Moon Codex, right?"

"But Connor Ferguson, do you know where this Blood Moon Codex that I practice comes from?" As soon as he finished speaking, Philo stared intently at Connor, as if he wanted to see something in Connor's face.

Regarding Philo's question, Connor, besides being wary of Philo's sudden attack, also frowned slightly. If he remembered correctly, Margaret had told him about the origin of the Blood Moon Codex. The Blood Moon Codex was created by the wizard De Laurentiis and inherited and practiced by his students.

Logically speaking, Firo should be the successor of Blood Witchcraft in this generation; theoretically, that should be the answer. However, judging from Firo's demeanor, it seems the result is not like that. Just as Connor hesitated about how to answer, Firo, without waiting for his reply, answered his own question:

"Stolen! My father and I cultivate earth-elemental energy. Thirty years ago, my father encountered the current heir to the Blood Moon Codex by chance. Coveting the powerful abilities of blood magic, he killed the heir, stole the Blood Moon Codex from him, cultivated it, and passed it on to me!!"

"However, blood magic is incredibly powerful. In a one-on-one situation, my father was naturally no match for the heir to the Blood Moon Codex. Connor, why don't you guess how my father killed him and obtained the Blood Moon Codex?"

"Someone is working with your father?" After hearing Philo's story, Connor pondered for a moment before offering his guess.

"That's right! The correct answer is that someone colluded with my father! Connor, you're indeed a smart man!" He nodded approvingly at Connor, then changed the subject, emphasizing each word: "And the accomplice who helped my father snatch the Blood Moon Codex from the heir was Connor's mentor, Reyes. Reyes and my father joined forces to kill the Blood Sorcery successor and steal the Blood Moon Codex!"

"Back then, Connor, your mentor Reyes and my father were close friends. After they joined forces to steal the Blood Moon Codex, my father originally planned to share it with Reyes as a reward. However, Reyes didn't take a liking to the Blood Moon Codex, and it ended up in my father's hands alone. As a result, my father owed Reyes a huge favor!"

"Twenty years ago, Reyes suddenly approached my father, asking him to accompany him to explore a mysterious ruin. At the time, my father was at a crucial stage in cultivating the Blood Moon Codex and was unwilling to go. However, he and Reyes were close friends, and he also owed Reyes a favor because of the Blood Moon Codex. So in the end, he agreed to go with Reyes to that mysterious ruin!" At this point, a hint of hatred appeared in Philo's eyes, but he did not stop his story and continued:

"After following Reyes to that mysterious ruin, my father disappeared and never returned! Before he joined Reyes on his journey to the ruin, he left me a letter, giving me some basic information about it. This information included the contents of the advanced meditation technique you're currently practicing, 'The Abyss Secret Technique,' Connor Ferguson!"

Listening to Philo's informative narration, Connor became excited. He realized that he would be able to figure out many mysteries he had not yet solved from this guy named Philo!

"You suspect that Reyes is behind your father's disappearance from some mysterious ruin?" Connor asked Philo after a moment's thought.

Faced with Connor's questioning, a cold smile appeared on Philo's handsome face as he said bitterly, "It's not a doubt, I'm certain that my father's failure to emerge from that damned ruin is absolutely related to Reyes!"

"The year after my father disappeared in the ruins, I was frequently hunted down by assassins. If I hadn't been capable of some tricks, I would have died at their hands long ago. I investigated those assassins, and they were all Reyes's men. So, do you think my father's disappearance was orchestrated by this professor from the secret society, Reyes?"

"What does this have to do with me?"

After pondering Philo's explanation for a while, Connor asked Philo, somewhat puzzled:

Connor was never one to easily trust others. Apart from some limited information, Connor didn't know Firo, so he naturally didn't know whether the seemingly secret things Firo told him were true or false.

Of course, even assuming everything Philo is telling him is true, Connor doesn't see what it has to do with him. In Connor's eyes, it's all about his personal grudges with Reyes, and he can't understand why Philo would tell him all this...

"Of course! Because it relates to how Reyes obtained the 'Abyss Arcane Arts'!" Philo gave an affirmative answer to Connor's question, then looked at Connor and said, "Professor Reyes of the Secret Society is an enigma in the wizarding world. Many want to figure out his background, but no one has ever succeeded!"

"My father and Reyes were close friends. They started working together when they were wizard apprentices, so he knew a lot about Reyes. My father once guessed that Reyes was a lucky guy who found a ruin when he first started his training and obtained the legacy of Byzantine wizards there!"

Upon hearing the word "ruins" again from Philo's mouth, Connor seemed to realize something. Although he still pretended not to understand, he began to secretly calculate in his heart. Philo had just said that his father had gone to a mysterious ruin with Reyes and had never returned.

Now his father is speculating that Reyes' success is due to obtaining the legacy of a Byzantine wizard in a certain ruin. Since both pieces of information are related to the ruin, is it possible that the two ruins are actually the same thing?

Connor was shocked by his own bold conjecture, but after careful consideration, he found it increasingly plausible!
