Wizard Earl

Chapter 915 Bar

After a careful look at Handanovic, the blue-clad man who looked very much like the real boss, Connor, disguised as the scarred-faced giant, sneered. He didn't answer Handanovic's question, but instead stepped on the unconscious Cornelius's body and said calmly to Handanovic, "You're the boss here? This fat pig, is he one of yours?"

Seeing Connor's provocation, before Handanovic could even speak, the red-haired young man couldn't sit still any longer. He drew his short knife from his waist and glared fiercely at Handanovic. Judging from his posture, he seemed to be waiting for Handanovic's order to rush up and kill him on the spot!

To the red-haired young man's disappointment, he did not receive a command from Handanovic. Instead, Handanovic, still smiling, patted his arm holding the dagger, signaling him to put the knife away.

Despite his reluctance, the red-haired young man followed his boss's instructions without hesitation, sheathing his dagger. Handanovic, maintaining his smile, continued to speak to Connor: "Sir, the man you're standing on is named Cornelius, my wife's brother. If he has offended you, I apologize for his actions and ask for your forgiveness!"

"As for me, I'm a regular at Uncle Lotito's Bar. I come here often, and I also own a small share, so I'm a minor shareholder. As for being the boss or anything like that, I'm a legitimate businessman, so of course I'm not!"

Everyone in the bar, including the red-haired young man, seemed to be surprised that Handanovic, the underground emperor who could command the winds and rains of Saspeld and make the whole town tremble with a stomp of his foot, would actually show such compromise and weakness in front of this scarred big man of unknown origin. He had beaten up your brother-in-law, and you took the initiative to apologize to him.

Not only the people in the bar, but even Connor was surprised that Handanovic would apologize to him. He had originally planned to deliberately provoke Handanovic, then fight him, take the opportunity to kidnap him, and then go to a secluded place to use his soul-capturing technique on Handanovic to see if the big H gang leader of Saspeld had any clues about where Firo was hiding in his memories!

Although Handanovic claimed he wasn't the boss, Connor naturally didn't believe him. However, since Handanovic was now behaving so humbly towards him, Connor had no reason to make a move. If he were to provoke Handanovic and forcibly kidnap him, Connor's abilities would certainly not prevent him from doing so.

However, it would seem very unnatural for Connor to do that. In addition, there are hundreds of people gathered at this bar. If Handanovic is involved, the news will quickly spread throughout the city of Saspeld. If that guy Philo is paying attention to information in Saspeld and finds out about this, he might realize something. That would be like alerting the enemy, which would not be conducive to Connor finding Philo!

After weighing the pros and cons in his mind, Connor made a decision. He withdrew his foot from Korne and then said to Handanovic in a deep voice, "My name is Havertz!"

Upon hearing Connor introduce himself, Handanovic's smile widened even further. Pointing upstairs, he said to Connor, "Mr. Havertz, would you be interested in coming upstairs for a few drinks? Once Cornell wakes up, I'll have him apologize to you in person!"

Upon hearing that Handanovic wanted him to go upstairs and drink with him, Connor immediately became alert. Before Handanovic even showed up, Connor had already spotted him while he was secretly observing him from the second floor of the bar. He had also used his mental power to examine him and was certain that this Handanovic was not a wizard. However, although this person looked young, only in his early thirties, he already had the strength of a Grand Knight!

Although he had just easily defeated those young thugs, the strength he displayed was only that of a regular knight. This Handanovic, who possessed the strength of a great knight, had no reason to be so humble towards him and even offer him drinks. As the saying goes, there must be something fishy going on when things are not normal. Connor was certain that there must be some kind of conspiracy hidden behind Handanovic's "friendliness"!

"Great! I've been wanting to try what the best wine in Saspede is like!" Connor, using the alias Havertz, said with feigned generosity.

Upon hearing Connor's words, a cunning glint immediately appeared in the eyes of the man named Handanovic, who readily replied, "Mr. Havertz, trust me, the wine in my room will definitely not disappoint you!"

As Handanovic finished speaking, Connor and he walked side by side up the stairs to the second floor of the bar, under the watchful eyes of everyone in the bar.

Connor scanned everything on the second floor of the bar with his mental energy, and a cold smile crept into his heart. Although the cunning look in Handanovic's eyes was fleeting, it was still caught by Connor, a mental wizard with powerful intuition. This made Connor even more certain that there was something wrong with Handanovic!

The reason Connor knew Handanovic was problematic, and why he went with him to the second floor of the bar, into his hideout, was entirely due to Connor's confidence as a powerful, officially recognized wizard. He wasn't afraid of any traps or ambushes Handanovic might set for him; he just wanted to see what Handanovic's problem was and whether it was related to Philo, who was hiding in Susspades!

The thought that Handanovic might be connected to "Filo" ignited a burning desire in Connor. He desperately wanted to use his mind-control technique on Handanovic immediately to examine his memories. Unfortunately, too many people in the bar were watching him and Handanovic. Making a move now would be difficult due to the large number of witnesses; after all, Connor couldn't afford to create a tragedy and kill everyone…

The open-plan lobby on the first floor of Uncle Lotito's Bar is worlds apart from the facilities on the second floor. Compared to the noisy and chaotic lobby on the first floor, the second floor consists entirely of private rooms, each decorated in a magnificent and luxurious style, no less so than the entertainment venues in Frosinone.

Reaching a private room at the far end of the second floor, Handanovic smiled and personally opened the door for Connor, then said, "Mr. Havertz, this is my bar's private room. Welcome!"
