Chapter 712 Anduin Genoa

Chapter 712 Anduin Genoa (Updated at midnight, Part 2)

(Happy holiday yesterday!!!)

Of the three things in the deal with Martina, this was the most valuable, and it was also what Connor most wanted to know. At the time, because he didn't want Martina to know that this was what he wanted to know most, so that she could control him, Connor planned to ask Martina about this last. But he never expected that old Victor would suddenly appear.

Later, because he thought Martina had died under Old Victor's golden light slash, and after reading the message Reyes left for him in the crystal ball Old Victor gave him, he realized that the high-level meditation technique he was cultivating, "Abyss Secret Technique," was the key to the matter. In the past few days, Connor has been secretly regretting that he did not let Martina tell him what kind of trick Reyes had used on him in "Abyss Secret Technique" as the first thing!

However, it seems to be true to the two old sayings on Earth: "When you think you've reached the end of the road, a new path opens up." I didn't expect Martina to give me such a big gift here. But given Martina's personality, it's really hard not to think about whether there's some kind of conspiracy involved.

Seeing the glint in Connor's eyes, Margaret seemed to have thought of something. After hesitating for a moment, she said to Connor, "Connor, do you want to know the answer to this? Martina also said that if you suspect she's plotting something, you should tell me not to tell you the answer!"

"Speak! Why won't you speak?" Connor said resolutely after a moment's thought. He really wanted to know what Martina wanted to tell him. After this period of thought, Connor had a little understanding of why Martina wanted Margaret to tell him the answer to this third matter. He and Martina had sworn an oath under the witness of the Eye of Arbitration!

Under the witness of the Eye of Arbitration, Martina swore to tell him everything she knew about Reyes; otherwise, she would be punished by the Eye of Arbitration! Therefore, bound by the oath made by the Eye of Arbitration, Martina had no choice but to tell him the truth.

Thinking of this, a smile involuntarily appeared on Connor's face. Martina was worried about the punishment of the Eye of Arbitration, which is why she entrusted Margaret to tell him the answer to the third matter. This inference should be correct. Moreover, the effect of the Eye of Arbitration will also restrain Martina, preventing her from lying to deceive him and only telling him what she believes to be true!

"Anduin Genoa!" Seeing that Connor wanted to know the answer, Margaret did not hesitate and uttered a Byzantine word in a deep voice.

After Margaret uttered a single word, Connor pondered for a moment, a look of confusion appearing in his eyes. He had no memory of the word "Anduin Genoa."

"When Martina told you, did she say what Anduin Genoa meant?" Connor, having searched his mental database using his assistive chip but still finding no answer, asked Margaret.

Upon hearing Connor's question, Margaret shook her head without hesitation and said, "Martina only told me about Anduin Genoa, and nothing else!"

Martina paused for a moment, glanced at Connor who still looked puzzled, and then said, "Connor, I once saw some things in the internal scriptures of the Church of Storms..."

Hearing Margaret say this, Connor, assuming she had some clues within the church, interrupted her before she could finish, his eyes flashing with a sharp light, and asked, "Is it related to Anduin Genoa?"

Hearing Connor's question, Margaret was somewhat ambiguous and said uncertainly, "It might be related. In the internal archives of the Church of Rune Storm, I once saw a copy of a book called 'Pastor Albert's Travels to Byzantium,' which is a record of the travels of Albert, a formal wizard of the church, to the Byzantine Empire about 1,500 years ago."

"The book mentions a place called Anduin Genocia. According to the markings in the book, this place called Anduin Genocia is located approximately 100 kilometers from Frosinone, where your Ferguson family is located, in the Navas Forest!"

Margaret's story immediately put Connor into deep thought. The place name Margaret mentioned, "Anduin Genoa," differed from Martina's answer to the third question, "Anduin Genoa," by only one "West." However, Connor was now almost certain that the place name Margaret mentioned was related to "Anduin Genoa" that Martina had mentioned!

There are two reasons. First, Reyes, who was once a professor in the History Department at Ruenglin University, taught his student Connor Old Byzantine. In Old Byzantine, the pronunciation of "west" was more of a personal grammatical habit, and it could be pronounced or not. Since Margaret said that this book, titled "The Travels of Reverend Albert in Byzantium," was from the church's internal archives, and Reverend Albert was a real person and an official wizard of the church, this indicates that the travelogue recording the place name "Anduin Genocia" is highly authentic and credible!

Second Margaret mentioned that this place called "Anduin Genocia" is roughly located in the Navas Forest, near Frosinone. If so, this subtly overlaps with Reyes's hint about returning to Frosinone. Furthermore, Connor clearly remembers hearing people mention that when he was a child with the Ferguson family in Frosinone, they often unearthed Byzantine-era artifacts in the Navas Forest. This suggests that the Navas Forest might very well hold the ruins of a Byzantine-era site, or even a city...

Therefore, all things considered, the "Anduin Genoa" that Martina mentioned is very likely related to the buried city "Anduin Genocia" in the Navas Forest. However, if that's the case, then the question arises: why would Martina tell him the name Anduin Genoa when she was dealing with what kind of trick Reyes used on her in the Abyss Arcane?

Was Martina trying to hint at or tell him something? Realizing this, Connor was once again plunged into deep confusion. He felt he had discovered something, yet also felt he hadn't discovered anything at all…
