Chapter 64 Suspected

Chapter 64 Suspected

Upon hearing the gaunt man shout out a minimum of fifty gold pounds with no upper limit, a middle-aged strong man stood up in the hall. He took out a pen, wrote a few words on a page of a notebook, and then handed the notebook directly to the gaunt man.

After taking the note written by the middle-aged strong man, the gaunt man pondered for a moment and said in a low voice, "Two hundred gold pounds?"

"Hmph!" Upon hearing the gaunt man's offer, the middle-aged strong man snorted disdainfully and sat down directly, as if he was unwilling to discuss the matter further.

Seeing the middle-aged man's decisive manner, the gaunt man became somewhat anxious and hurriedly said, "Sir, I am quite interested in the knowledge you possess. If you are not satisfied with the price, we can go inside and discuss it in detail!"

The middle-aged man seemed somewhat uninterested in further discussion with the gaunt man. He waved his hand and said in a gruff voice, "Five hundred gold pounds! Take it or leave it. If I weren't short of cash and needed to buy some experimental materials, I wouldn't be selling to you!"

The gaunt man's eyes flickered a few times, but he ultimately shook his head, ignoring the middle-aged strong man, and continued speaking to the rest of the people in the living room: "Books on Byzantine mysticism, starting at fifty gold pounds, with no upper limit!"

After the gaunt man finished speaking, seeing that none of the people sitting in the living room paid any attention to him, he shook his head in disappointment and sat back down in his seat.

The gaunt man sat down, while a woman draped in a cloak stood up and said in a deep voice, "Combat mission: assist me in taking down a level two magical beast. We need two intermediate apprentices as helpers. The reward is one hundred gold pounds per day. A contract must be signed before the Eye of Judgment!"

Upon hearing the word "monster" from the woman, Connor's heart stirred with curiosity. In this world, not only humans possess the talent for cultivation, but other animals can also cultivate. Monsters are the collective name for these animals capable of cultivation.

In the world of Warcraft, a level 1 Warcraft is comparable to a junior wizard apprentice, a level 2 Warcraft is equivalent to an intermediate apprentice, a level 3 Warcraft is equivalent to an advanced apprentice, and a level 4 Warcraft is already as strong as a full-fledged wizard. As for anything beyond that, Connor doesn't know!

"Making a contract before the Eye of Judgment is no problem, but I'd like to know how the materials from the monsters are distributed after they're hunted?" Compared to the gaunt man from before, the people sitting in the living room were clearly more interested in the woman's suggestion. Many of them seemed eager to try it out. The chubby-faced man sitting in a secluded corner of the room was the first to stand up and ask the question:

"All the monster materials are mine, one hundred gold pounds a day, and you want to allocate monster materials too? Aren't you being a bit too greedy?" the cloaked woman said coldly.

"I'm an intermediate apprentice, I'll take this deal!" Before the chubby man in the corner could reply, the middle-aged man who had just failed to reach an agreement with the skinny man stood up.

"Count me in!" The first middle-aged fat man to stand up and ask a question glared at the burly middle-aged man who had interrupted him. As he spoke, he released a hint of the aura of an intermediate apprentice.

The cloaked woman glanced at the middle-aged burly man and the plump man, nodded, and then bowed slightly to the elderly man seated in the main seat, who wore a mask embroidered with a phoenix, saying, "Respected Mr. Mustafa, I need a private room for our detailed discussion." She then produced a one-gold pound note and respectfully presented it with both hands.

The old man, known as Mustafa, didn't speak, but simply nodded. The gold pound note that the lady had offered magically disappeared, and a second later, a bunch of keys appeared in the lady's hand.

"Find the secret room corresponding to your key. You have half an hour!" Mr. Mustafa's aged voice, though not loud, was clear enough to reach the ears of everyone in the hall.

"A formal wizard!" Connor heard the clear, aged voice in his ear and the word popped into his mind!

"No mistake, absolutely no mistake. I've felt such a powerful aura before, even with my mentor Reyes. This Mr. Mustafa is a formal wizard!" Although his heart was in turmoil, Connor pretended to be oblivious to everything.

"Thank you!" Gripping the magically appearing key, the cloaked woman winked at the middle-aged man and the chubby man. The three of them then walked towards a wall in the living room. Just as they were about to bump into the wall, a blinding white light appeared on the unusually solid-looking wall. A second later, as the white light disappeared, the wall returned to its original state, and the three of them vanished.

Aside from Connor, everyone in the living room seemed unfazed by what they were seeing, remaining calm and composed. Connor glanced discreetly at Mr. Mustafa, who sat quietly in the main seat, and his mind began to race. Both Mr. Mustafa and his mentor, Professor Reyes, seemed shrouded in mystery; he wondered who would be stronger in a fight between them.

"I want an offensive enchanted item, and I'll pay with a sapphire potion!" The party continued, and soon it was a petite girl who was wrapped up tightly in her clothes. She stood up and said softly, then took out a bottle of blue potion from her pocket and showed it to everyone in the living room.

"What is this...?" Upon seeing the blue potion displayed by the girl, Connor's pupils behind his mask suddenly shrank to the size of pinholes.

Although he couldn't see it very clearly, Connor had a very strong premonition that the blue potion the petite girl in front of him had taken out, which she called the "Sapphire Potion," was the same thing as the blue potion Varga had given him.

Noticing this, Connor narrowed his eyes and carefully examined the petite girl. The girl's figure was similar to Varga's, but although her voice was also very pleasant, it was completely different from Varga's.

Connor frowned inwardly. Given that everyone present was a wizard, and that Mr. Mustafa, a formal wizard, was presiding over the gathering, if he used his mental powers to examine the girl's face, he would definitely be discovered, and the consequences would be dire!
