Chapter 572 Lonely Men and Women
Chapter 572 Lonely Men and Women
Upon hearing Perrin's words, Wanda seemed to have thought of something, a glint of light appearing in her eyes. She whispered, "Connor Ferguson! We've been in the Loon Block for a month, focused solely on battling Alex Sandro, but we haven't even met this real boss yet!"
"Connor Ferguson?" A glint of light flashed in Palin's eyes.
"That's right! This person hasn't shown up for so long, Palin, haven't you ever suspected anything?" Wanda said meaningfully.
"Wanda, if that's what you mean, then this Connor Ferguson is really quite interesting!" Perrin also realized what was going on, and a cold smile appeared on his handsome face.

Just as Wanda and Palin were refocusing their attention on Connor, they had no idea that Connor and Margaret had already quietly infiltrated the grove outside their hideout in Anfield.
"Are they hiding here?" Margaret asked Connor, her brow furrowed slightly as she looked at the brightly lit neighborhood.
Connor, holding the compass, glanced at it and nodded somewhat helplessly, saying, "This is what the compass shows!"
Connor's original plan for his January appointment with Margaret was to first stabilize her, then discuss the matter further and make further plans. However, he never expected that Margaret seemed to have anticipated all of his plans and wouldn't buy into it. She was serious and directly pressured Connor to take action. With no other option, Connor and Margaret, guided by the compass, began searching for Wanda and Palin's whereabouts. After more than an hour of searching, Connor finally located Wanda and Palin in the Anfield community.
"Could you narrow down the range of your compass even further?" Margaret asked impatiently.
Connor shrugged, looking somewhat aggrieved, and said, "Big sister, please, do you even know a little about alchemy? My compass is already incredibly powerful enough to track me down to this place in a city as big as Rune, okay? Narrowing the search area is beyond the capabilities of any enchanted item crafted by an alchemist of my current level!"
"This is Anfield Community, one of the largest residential communities in the North District, home to tens of thousands of Loen workers. Do you think it's possible for just the two of us to find those two people among tens of thousands of workers?" Margaret glared at Connor and pointed to the brightly lit community in front of her.
"Knowing where they've settled down, even if they've made quite a bit of money this time, they'll definitely come looking for me again!" Connor said meaningfully to Margaret with a slight smile.
Although she still gave Connor a big eye roll, it seemed that Margaret believed Connor's story and didn't press him further. She turned and headed out of the woods, and Connor, seeing this, also had a faint smile on his face and followed her.
"Want to come to my place for a drink?" Looking at Margaret's beautiful face in the moonlight, Connor, for some reason, extended an invitation to her.
Perhaps because she had often gone to Connor's apartment to drink before, and given that Margaret was currently in a very bad and depressed mood, drinking seemed like a good way to get rid of this feeling. So Margaret didn't think much of it and nodded in agreement.
A dozen minutes later, Connor and Margaret, as if stealing a Q, quietly climbed over the wall of Ferguson's apartment building and entered the building.
Margaret, having scaled the wall, looked at Connor Ferguson, the apartment owner, who had also climbed over the wall like her, and chuckled inwardly. With a slightly teasing tone, she said, "Isn't this the Ferguson Apartments? Why, Connor, the future Earl of Ferguson, do you have to climb over the wall like me?"
Hearing Margaret's teasing, Connor was genuinely at a loss for words, but he really didn't know how to respond to Margaret, so he could only shake his head with a wry smile.
Upon entering the apartment, seeing the sofa overturned in the living room, broken wall tiles, and a crystal chandelier lying on the floor—a scene of utter chaos—Margaret blinked her beautiful eyes and turned to look at Connor with great confusion.
Embarrassed, Connor touched his chin and began, "As I told you before, I killed a high-ranking Celta Vision wizard apprentice. He's the one who caused all this. He was looking for something in my apartment. I've been busy these past few days, so I haven't had time to clean up yet!" Connor tried to be as concise as possible in explaining the apartment's ordeal to Margaret.
"Where are all your good wines? Did that unlucky guy smash them too?" With a wave of her hand, she sent a gust of wind to right the sofa that had fallen to the floor. Margaret sat in her usual spot when she came to Connor's apartment, then stretched out her fair hand and asked Connor for something:
"No, not at all. This guy was also a wine lover. Not only did he not have the heart to smash my wines, but he also put them all into his spatial ring. However, before he could even taste these wonderful liquids, I killed him that very night, so my wines are back in my hands!" Connor explained as he took out two bottles of "Romano No. 1" from his spatial ring.
Connor casually handed a bottle of "Conti" to Margaret, while uncorking his own bottle of "Conti," instantly filling the air with the rich aroma unique to "Conti."
"One bottle each? I didn't expect you to be so generous this time, Connor?" Taking the bottle from Connor's hand, Margaret's beautiful eyes flashed with a light as she glanced at Connor and said:
"Isn't this a welcome dinner for you?" Connor and Margaret clinked their bottles together, then, too lazy to let the wine breathe, they tilted their heads back and downed a few mouthfuls, drinking a full half of the "Roman Nodée" that was more expensive than gold.
"A cow chewing on a peony!" Margaret smiled and teased Connor, who was acting unusually rough around the edges, before shaking the bottle and taking a small sip.
As always, Connor did not suppress the effects of alcohol in his body. He liked the feeling of being slightly tipsy. Perhaps it was the effect of the alcohol that affected Connor's rationality. He took another sip of the "Conti" in the bottle, and a curious look appeared on Connor's angular face as he stared intently at Margaret.
