Chapter 484 Time

Chapter 484 Time

"Da...da...da...da..."

Connor did not immediately answer Martina's question. Instead, he squinted and tapped his fingers lightly on the table, seemingly deep in thought. Seeing that Connor was thinking, both Emerson and Martina kept quiet, not wanting to disturb him in the slightest.

Ten minutes later, a glint of light flashed in Connor's eyes as he slowly spoke, "The power of any alchemical array or mechanism varies from person to person. I haven't encountered one so far, nor have I even seen her in person. The target of this operation is Margaret, so I must be clear from the start: I cannot guarantee that the alchemical mechanisms or arrays I set up will be fully effective against Margaret!"

"Of course. In fact, with the strength of the three of us, we could easily take down Margaret. The reason we set up the alchemical array and traps was just to be on the safe side, to add an extra layer of security to this operation!" Martina said decisively after exchanging a glance with Emerson.

"Very good, how long do I have?" Connor nodded and continued to ask:

"Is three days enough?" Martina asked tentatively in a soft voice after thinking for a moment.

"Three days? Ha! Martina, if you're serious, then I'll have to tell you to find someone else!" Upon hearing that Martina was only giving him three days, Connor immediately sneered.

"We don't have much time. Margaret could show up at the Zaka textile factory at any moment!" Martina said to Connor very seriously.

"Martina, you've studied alchemy yourself? Tell me, how long would it take to create an alchemical array that meets your requirements?" Connor seemed unconcerned and directly confronted Martina head-on.

Just as Connor and Martina were getting increasingly heated, Emerson, who was sitting to the side, quickly tried to smooth things over, saying, "You two, calm down and don't let this ruin your relationship. This operation is time-sensitive and has a heavy workload, and the higher-ups are taking it very seriously, so Martina is under a lot of pressure. Mr. Kane, how long do you think it will take you to make these things?"

Hearing Emerson's words, Connor thought for a moment, then found a piece of paper and a pen in his spatial ring. He began scribbling on the paper, and a minute later handed the paper, filled with the names and quantities of alchemical materials, to Martina. He then said in a deep voice, "Give me these things within three hours. I will deliver them to you within five days!"

Martina took the notebook from Connor, and before she could even glance at it, she turned and left, heading towards his room on the second floor.

Watching Connor leave, Emerson's ever-present gentle smile vanished. He then took a small sphere from his pocket and placed it in the room, creating a transparent barrier. After doing this, he turned to Martina, who was diligently checking the materials list beside him, and said with a half-smile, "So? What materials does our Mr. Kane require?"

Putting down the list of materials in her hand, Martina shook her head with a bitter expression and said, "His alchemy skills are far superior to mine. To be honest, I can only tell that the array made from these materials is roughly enough to trap a high-level wizard apprentice. As for the rest, I..."

"How strong is he?" Emerson asked Martina abruptly, staring at the stairs leading to the second floor.

"What do you want to do?" Upon hearing Emerson's question, Martina immediately became alert, her eyes fixed on Emerson.

Emerson shrugged indifferently and said, "I didn't mean anything by it, just asking casually. Martina, if you're not comfortable saying, that's fine."

"Emerson, you're an assassin. Your forte is stealth and assassination, not direct combat. And most importantly, he's a psychic wizard. The moment you get close to him, before you even have a chance to use your abilities, his psychic powers will detect you. Then you'll be crushed by an enchanted artifact of an alchemist. So I advise you not to provoke him!" Martina gave Emerson her serious advice.

"So he's a psychic wizard, no wonder..." Emor thought, having taken Martina's advice to heart.

Song raised an eyebrow, suddenly realizing:

"He's a dangerous man. You stay here and watch over him. I'm going to the secret vault now to get him the materials he wants!" Martina instructed Emerson, waving the list of materials Connor had given her.

"It's no big deal, leave it to me, don't worry!" Emerson nodded in agreement.

Connor, sitting in his room on the second floor of the villa, sneered. This Emerson was indeed quite capable. With his mental strength, although he could sense the existence of the barrier downstairs, he couldn't eavesdrop on Emerson and Martina's conversation without disturbing them.

Although he hadn't heard their conversation, Connor could roughly guess what they were talking about. However, Emerson's appearance truly surprised Connor. The stealth methods this guy used to enter the villa were incredibly skillful and sophisticated, clearly indicating extensive specialized training and practical experience. The fact that he could do that meant…

Today, Connor used the alias "Kane" in front of Emerson. He didn't expect Emerson to believe that his real name was Kane, just as Connor himself didn't completely believe that Emerson's real name was Emerson. To be honest, Connor didn't even care whether Emerson knew his true identity, because Emerson might die in five days due to Connor Ferguson's betrayal. If that were the case, what use would it be to know more if the person was already dead?

Connor was quite satisfied with his argument with Martina today regarding the timing of creating the magic circle. Five days was enough time for him to do many things he wanted, such as contacting Margaret and informing her of the situation to a certain extent. After realizing that he and Martina were very likely the ones Eder had arranged to take action against Margaret, Connor had stopped keeping his promise to Margaret and hadn't been secretly protecting her when necessary. After all, it was Connor Ferguson's decision when to take action against Margaret.
