Chapter 43 Arbitrator White

Chapter 43 Arbitrator White

"Beep! Someone is following the main body at a speed of over 500 meters per minute. It is estimated to catch up with the main body in two minutes!"

Sandro Avenue is located on the outskirts of the North District. The cautious Connor did not return directly to his apartment. Instead, he ran for several kilometers, leaving the city of Luen and arriving at a small grove in the countryside. Just when Connor thought that there were no pursuers behind him and that he could breathe a sigh of relief and prepare to return to his apartment, his auxiliary chip issued a warning.

"The chip... how many people are being tracked?" A sinking feeling washed over him, but Connor calmly asked:

"Beep! One person! This person is suspected to be one of the two weaker individuals who fought Victor at No. 107 Sandro Street!" At the critical moment, the chip did not fail and quickly provided Connor with a reply.

"Intermediate Apprentice?" Connor's eyes lit up upon hearing the chip's description. Although he didn't know what a Storm Church Arbitrator was, he learned from Old Victor's words that the three arbitrators who had just appeared in the house were one advanced apprentice and two intermediate apprentices. The chip's description indicated that the one with the weaker aura was one of the two. Clearly, the Storm Church Arbitrator who was following him was likely an intermediate apprentice.

Connor was nervously making a decision: should he take him down? The chip assessed his strength as being on par with a mid-level apprentice. Judging from the relentless pursuit of his pursuer, he wouldn't be able to shake him off in the remaining two minutes. Since he was going to be caught either way, and his current position was perfect for an ambush, he might as well take advantage of the situation and strike. Life and death were in the hands of fate!

A ruthless glint flashed across Connor's face. He pulled out his pistol, loaded it, held his breath, and hid in the woods, quietly waiting for his prey to come to him!

White is an arbitrator for the Church of Storms, but what is an arbitrator?

As the name suggests, the Arbitrator is the messenger of the Church of Storms who arbitrates against the dark wizards!

Today was undoubtedly a terrible day for arbitrator White. A church informant had been out of contact for many days, so the church leadership sent White and his arbitrator team to the informant's home to see if they could find any clues.

White initially thought the mission was just about finding clues and wouldn't be dangerous. However, reality proved to be far from what was expected. When they arrived at the informant's house, they discovered a dark wizard there. If that were all, it wouldn't be a big deal; dark wizards are one or two cases that the Arbitrators handle on average every month!

However, a terrifying thing happened: the black wizard whose face was obscured by black smoke and whose figure was somewhat hunched was actually a high-level wizarding apprentice, just like his team leader David! After only about a minute of fighting, the three of them were suppressed by the black wizard! Seeing the situation was dire, David, the team leader and also a high-level wizarding apprentice, tried to call for backup, but before he could even send out a distress signal, he was severely injured by a powerful black spear unleashed by the black wizard!

White was a coward. Seeing that the situation was not good and that he would surely die if he continued to fight, he decisively abandoned his companions and ran away amidst their curses.

Although he was afraid of death, White was not stupid. He knew very well that abandoning his wounded companion and running away was a crime. If the church found out, he would be severely punished, even if he didn't die. The only way to prevent this from happening was to perform a good deed!

An opportunity to make a name for himself was right before him. Just moments ago, while they were locked in fierce combat with the advanced apprentice black wizard, he sensed through his mental power that the junior apprentice, who had been with the advanced apprentice in the attic, seemed to have escaped through a window. This suggested that the advanced apprentice black wizard had covered the retreat of the junior apprentice…

Clearly, that junior apprentice must be an important figure. Once he understood this, White didn't hesitate at all and immediately began tracking Connor. In his mind, Connor was a talisman; by capturing Connor, he could avoid the punishment of abandoning his companion. As the arbitrator of the Arbitration Black Wizards, handpicked by the Church of Storms, White was quite capable. Using a secret technique, he quickly tracked Connor based on the aura he left behind.

"what?"

White looked around the grove of trees in surprise. The aura of the novice black wizard he had been tracking along the way had stopped here.

"Chirp chirp chirp! Chirp chirp chirp!" Several birds chirped in the woods. White's eyes widened as if he realized something, but before he could react, six gunshots rang out!

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"

Six bullets tore through the air and shot toward White's vital organs, including his forehead, heart, and throat.

White's heart skipped a beat; it was too sudden! He didn't have time to cast a protective spell and could only try to dodge. He was just a wizard apprentice, not a wizard yet. If he was hit in a vital spot, he would be severely injured even if he didn't die. White's idea was good, but after his fierce battle with old Victor, he was exhausted both mentally and physically. He dodged five of the six bullets, but the last one hit him in the abdomen!

Before the arbitrator, White, could even clutch his stomach in pain, a black-robed youth appeared before him, unleashing a black chain that hurtled towards him.

Seeing the arbitrator wounded in the waist by his own bullet, bleeding bright red blood, Connor revealed a satisfied smile. Damn it, let's see if you die today!

Realizing he had been ambushed by someone who was only a junior apprentice, White was immediately enraged and wanted to vent his anger on Connor. However, this thought only lingered in his mind for a second before the Shadow Chains, which were already upon him, made him realize the reality!

"By the Goddess of Storms! Is this the power of a spell cast by a novice apprentice?"

Although somewhat skeptical that the terrifying black chain magic before him was as terrifying as its aura suggested, the cowardly Arbitrator White naturally dared not risk his life for an experiment while already injured...

With a determined look, White immediately performed a backflip. The Shadow Chains narrowly grazed White's body, but although they didn't hit him, it didn't mean he was unharmed. The black flames attached to the Shadow Chains clung to White's body like will-o'-the-wisps.
