Chapter 402 Metal Bricks

Chapter 402 Metal Bricks

"I am not capable of making decisions on behalf of Lord Southgate, but I can convey your request to him, and he will then decide whether to allow you to observe!" Old Victor was very cautious about Connor's request.

"Thank you very much, old Butler Victor!" Connor smiled and nodded to old Victor in thanks, knowing that this was the most old Victor could do!

"Do a good job with the things in these boxes. Before you use mental micromanagement to carve the runes, you need to perform another tempering to remove all impurities!" Old Victor instructed Connor, pausing before continuing, "You can use all the equipment in this lab. While ensuring quality, do it as quickly as possible. If you need it, I think Martina will be willing to assist you."

"No problem, I'll finish it as soon as possible!" Connor said confidently. Rather than cooperating with Martina, he preferred to complete the processing task on his own.

Seeing that Connor had no further problems, old Victor nodded and left the alchemy lab, leaving Connor alone with the five jade boxes containing the materials.

After old Victor left, Connor opened the five jade boxes on the laboratory table one by one without hesitation, which he was going to process using mental micromanagement.

"This is·········?"

Looking at the five identical metal bricks shimmering with a pale purple light in each jade box, Connor's eyes showed a hint of surprise. He had thought that he was to process the raw materials himself, as instructed by old Victor, but it seemed that he was to reprocess the already formed alchemical products.

After carefully examining the metal block in the jade box, Connor discovered that it was not made of a single metal, but rather a mixture of various metals and other materials. Among the components that Connor could identify were Gotham Steel, Mithril, Ortiz Gold, and what appeared to be a trace of the magic core of the Hoy Two-Headed Eagle... In addition to the components that Connor could identify, he was also fairly certain that there were at least three other components in these metal blocks that he could not identify.

An alloy made by mixing so many alchemical components together is extremely rare among alloys!

Connor, his gaze sweeping over the material analyzer in the laboratory, hesitated for a moment, but still picked up the metal brick and walked over.

Connor placed the metal brick on the material analyzer and began to carefully examine it.

"Purpuric mycotoxin, Persis pollen, Crimson Sand, and this... magic crystal powder?" Observing the source of the substances that he could not identify on the material analyzer, Connor was shocked once again. If he did not have some magic crystal powder on hand and was not unfamiliar with magic crystals, Connor would really find it hard to believe what the instrument was showing.

Having seen the world, Connor quickly recovered from his shock. After thinking for a moment, he placed each of the five metal bricks on the material analyzer to examine them. Five minutes later, after finishing the analysis of the metal bricks' composition, Connor confirmed that not only were the shapes of the five metal bricks exactly the same, but their compositions were also identical!

Connor refocused his gaze on the shimmering pale purple metal bricks and fell into deep thought. Although he couldn't yet analyze the function of these five metal bricks, he was certain that they were no ordinary objects, judging from their composition.

Old Victor instructed himself to use mental micromanagement to inscribe siphon runes on these five metal bricks. Siphon runes have only one function: to absorb energy, and on a large scale. Although inscribing them is not difficult, siphon runes are relatively uncommon among runes, and very few alchemical items are inscribed with them.

"This is interesting..." A playful smile appeared on Connor's face. He was quite looking forward to seeing what would happen when he used his mental manipulation skills to inscribe the siphon runes on the metal brick!

Although he had promised old Victor that he would finish as soon as possible, Connor had already used the technique of mental manipulation to forge the Soul Spear today, which had consumed a lot of energy. Although he had recovered a lot with the help of the potion, it would still be somewhat inappropriate to use mental manipulation again. Therefore, Connor decided to rest for a day and start working again tomorrow!

The next morning, after meditating and recovering all night, Connor started working early. However, he realized something was wrong after only a short while. As instructed by old Victor, the metal bricks needed to be tempered again before using mental manipulation to inscribe the siphon runes, in order to force out all the impurities. But Connor realized during the tempering process that the five metal bricks were already very pure. Although some impurities remained, they were in very difficult-to-temper positions. Tempering out the remaining impurities from the metal bricks was very time-consuming. It took Connor a whole day and night to temper just one metal brick.

That's not all, but when Connor was finally able to start using mental manipulation to inscribe siphon runes on the tempered metal bricks, he discovered a very, very, very big problem!

That might be because of the material of the metal bricks. Using mental manipulation to inscribe runes on them was too exhausting. Connor's mental energy was so depleted that he could barely leave a single stroke on the metal bricks, let alone inscribe the entire siphon rune.

Realizing this, Connor, pale-faced, felt extremely bad. At the current pace, it would take him at least six days to complete the tempering of the metal brick and inscribe the siphon runes on it using mental manipulation. Completing only one metal brick in six days was completely unacceptable to Connor. There was still an alchemical bomb he had planted in Rune's apartment. If he didn't return within a month, the alchemical bomb would explode immediately, and things would become extremely troublesome!

So in order to prevent the bomb from exploding, Connor had to get back within a month. But the problem was that even if Old Victor hadn't said it, Connor himself knew very well that these metal bricks were so valuable, and judging from Old Victor's urgent tone, Old Victor would not let him leave before completing these alchemy tasks!
