Chapter 133 The Big Explosion!!!

Chapter 133 The Big Explosion!!!

After thinking for a moment, Connor took out a ring from his pocket. Looking at the spatial boundary stone embedded in the ring, a smile appeared on Connor's lips.

With the Spirit Nourishing Pearl that Margaret lent him, plus the Soul Crystal inside, and some medicine to treat mental trauma, the possibility of him recovering from the mental trauma caused by overdrawing his mental power is not small.

He had the Soul Crystal and the Spirit Nourishing Bead in his own hands, and with Varga's help with the potions, there wasn't much of a problem. So, in a sense, the Snake Eyes' spatial ring was something he had earned.

After examining the Snake Eyes' spatial ring for a while, Connor's eyes showed a hint of regret. This spatial ring contained Snake Eyes' spiritual imprint, and if he wanted to open it, he would have to remove that imprint. Snake Eyes was a high-level wizard apprentice, while he was currently a novice wizard apprentice. The difference was huge... so it was practically impossible for him to open the spatial ring now.

Connor shook his head slightly and carefully put away his spoils.

After taking a relaxing bath in the bathroom, washing away the dust and grime of the past few days, Connor lay comfortably on his big bed, ready to get a good night's rest.

Lying in bed in the middle of the night, Connor, fast asleep, instinctively turned over, but at that moment...

"boom!!!"

"boom!!!"

"boom!!!"

Three loud explosions rang out outside the window, and the huge shockwaves, like an earthquake, threw Connor's room into chaos!

Connor had already woken up when the first explosion occurred. Before the second explosion came, he nimbly jumped out of bed, wrapped himself in his bathrobe, and rushed outside.

For Connor, getting a good night's sleep like an ordinary person is undoubtedly a luxurious waste of time. He only indulges himself in such a reward when absolutely necessary. Even then, Connor subconsciously projects his mental energy outwards while sleeping, waking up at the slightest noise...

Wrapped in his bathrobe, Connor stood at the door of his apartment building, looking at the sky in the distance, which was dyed red by orange flames. He subconsciously breathed a sigh of relief. He had been awakened from his sleep by the huge shock wave, and his first thought was that there was a tsunami and an earthquake. Rune was a port city, and tsunamis and typhoons were almost constant. There were even earthquakes every ten or twenty years!

Let alone a mere novice wizard apprentice, even a fully-fledged wizard would be extremely small and vulnerable under the immense power of nature.

This now appears to be a massive explosion, but the shockwave is incredibly powerful... Wait! The direction of the explosion is...

Upon realizing the direction of the explosion, Connor's eyes narrowed instantly, and he instinctively thought of Margaret. If he wasn't mistaken, the explosion was coming from the direction of the Rune Storm Cathedral.

After a moment's thought, Connor didn't curiously run over to take a look. Instead, he turned around and went back to his apartment to continue sleeping. If Storm Cathedral really had been bombed, unless the entire Storm Church had been wiped out, then the place would definitely be under martial law right now, and anyone secretly spying would be in great danger.

Although his apartment and Storm Cathedral were both located in the East District of Loen, they were about 15 kilometers apart as the crow flies. If he was awakened by the shockwave of the explosion in his apartment, then it goes without saying what would happen at the epicenter of the explosion. Connor thought to himself that even a formal wizard would probably be doomed if he were there.

Storm Cathedral is the headquarters of the Church of Storms in Rune. If it is bombed, at worst the Church of Storms in Rune will be wiped out, and at least it will suffer heavy losses. Margaret parted ways with him today. If she goes straight back to Storm Cathedral, the only thing Connor can do now is to pray for her good luck!

So at this moment, the best option Connor could make was to pretend nothing had happened, go back to his apartment, back to his bed, and continue his luxurious sleep...

At five in the morning, Connor was awakened by the sound of military police walking in unison on the street. He shrugged slightly, stretched, and got out of his soft bed. The citywide manhunt was half an hour later than he had expected!

Walking into the kitchen, Connor quickly made himself some steak and bread. Dressed neatly, he sat at the dining table in the dining room, filling his stomach while waiting for the search to begin. Although Varga had given him a nutrient potion that would keep him from being hungry for several days, it tasted rather ordinary. When not training, Connor preferred to satisfy his hunger with food.

Connor didn't have to wait long before there was a rapid knocking on his door.

"The door isn't locked, please come in!" Connor cut a small piece of steak, dipped it in some sauce, and put it in his mouth.

As soon as Connor finished speaking, the door opened, and a balding inspector, looking serious, led a squad of heavily armed military police into Connor's apartment with a wary expression!

"It's nice to see you again, Officer Rhodes!" Connor glanced at the "old acquaintance" in the lead and greeted him with a smile.

To his disappointment, Officer Rodri, seemingly intending to exchange pleasantries with Connor, directly presented Connor with a search warrant bearing the seals of the Rune City Hall, the Rune Upper House, and the Rune Lower House.

"Mr. Connor, I am Inspector Rodri from the Police Department. I am here on orders from the Loen City Hall to search the entire city. Please cooperate with my search!" Inspector Rodri said coldly, his face stern.

With a slight smile, Connor took a sip of his rich Roman Noconti and spread his hands, saying, "As a nobleman of the Empire, I have an obligation to cooperate with the investigation by Imperial law enforcement. Officer Rodri, you may begin your investigation. However, I have a small request: I hope that your military police, after the search and finding nothing amiss, will simply return the items to their original places!"

Seeing that Connor did not object to the search, Inspector Rodri's expression softened, and he said to the military police surrounding him, "Begin the search now! Once you find nothing amiss, return everything to its original place!"

After saying that, he waved his hand, and armed military police filed into Connor's apartment to begin the search.
