Wizard Earl
Chapter 1115 The Cellar
Pedro, a middle-aged, square-faced, burly man who had just swallowed a large piece of steak, gave Abrachi a deep look upon hearing his words. He then expressionlessly wiped the sauce from his mouth and said to Abrachi in a low voice, "For the sake of this meal, Abrachi, I'll give you a piece of advice: some things you should know, and some things you shouldn't know, so don't pry or ask too many questions. In this world, knowing too much isn't a good thing..."
Pedro's icy voice immediately froze the smile on Abrach's face. Two seconds later, Abrach said with an awkward laugh, "Mr. Pedro, you're overthinking it. Do you think I, Abrach, don't know my place? I'm just standing up for you."
After saying that, Abramovich changed the subject and continued, "Mr. Pedro, you've finished your meal today, and it's getting late, so I won't bother you any longer. We'll meet tomorrow..."
Before Abrahim could finish speaking, he shuddered and collapsed to the ground without any struggle. Seeing Abrahim fall unconscious, Pedro was initially startled, but quickly reacted and took out an ice-blue staff from his spatial ring.
Pedro had just picked up his ice-blue staff when he heard a deep voice echo from the factory.
"You should know that whether you have this staff or not doesn't make much difference."
Upon hearing this voice, Pedro's expression changed slightly, but he remained calm, glanced around the factory, and then laughed and said, "It turns out that a formal wizard has come in person. I didn't expect that I, Pedro, would have so much face."
"Go wherever you want, and I'll let you go!" Although he could vaguely sense that this senior wizard apprentice from the Church of Storms named Pedro was not afraid of death, Connor still made one last effort, after all, that formation was still giving him a great headache.
After discovering Abrach and Pedro in the factory, Connor's mental powers then detected a small cellar beneath Perod's feet, containing many crystal boxes.
Upon discovering this, Connor, combined with what Margaret had told him—that each potion from the Storm Church was stored in a crystal box under cold storage—immediately realized that he had found the location of the potions.
In his excitement, Connor immediately planned to kill Abrach and Pedro, as they were now of no value and could be eliminated. However, as an alchemist, Connor unexpectedly discovered a very well-hidden array in the 100-square-meter area where Pedro was located before he could take action.
This formation is no ordinary formation; it's a self-destruct formation, and the core of this formation is Pedro himself! Within this formation, any attack on Pedro's body will trigger the self-destruct formation beneath his feet, and the consequences are self-evident: all the potions will be destroyed.
Connor racked his brains but couldn't find a good way to break the self-destructing magic circle beneath Pedro's feet. So, he could only reveal himself and try to talk to Pedro with the greatest hope. Killing Pedro was easy; Connor could do it with just a thought. But Pedro's death would mean nothing to Connor and would bring him no benefit. What Connor wanted was the precious potions in the cellar. He had no interest in killing a high-ranking wizard apprentice like Pedro.
Pedro remained silent in response to Connor's demands, but the mockery in his eyes was unmistakable. He leaned on his staff in one hand and held a wine bottle in the other, downing the entire bottle of red wine in one gulp with great bravado!
Seeing Pedro's expression, Connor nodded slightly, then stepped out from the shadows, stood in front of Pedro, looked him up and down, and said with absolute certainty, "You've got guts!"
Seeing Connor emerge, Pedro seemed about to utter a few sarcastic remarks, but he was horrified to find himself unable to speak a word. Just then, Connor extended his right hand and gently tapped it. Before Pedro could even comprehend Connor's intentions, a massive black bubble rose from beneath his feet, enveloping him entirely…
Pedro was completely bewildered by everything that was happening all of a sudden. He didn't know how the huge black bubble had suddenly formed, nor did he know why the self-destruction magic circle beneath his feet hadn't been triggered even though the black wizard had already attacked him.
Just as Pedro was completely bewildered, he began to feel the black bubble enveloping him strangely rising and dragging him into the air. This immediately snapped Pedro out of his confusion and made him start to attack the black bubble that was trapping him. However, unfortunately, the barrier that Connor, a formal wizard, had specially set up for him was not something that a high-level wizard apprentice like him could break through.
No matter how Pedro used ice blades, ice pillars, and more than ten other ice-attribute spells to attack the black bubble, the black bubble remained completely still and seemed unaffected.
Connor Ferguson, the mastermind behind all of this, looked at the black bubble that was already about two meters off the ground and a faint smile appeared on his face.
As an alchemist, Connor may not have a good solution for self-destruction arrays, but that doesn't mean he's completely helpless against them!
Connor knew perfectly well that a Storm Church wizard capable of becoming the core of a self-destructing magic array was most likely a die-hard member of the Storm Church, possessing extremely devout faith in the Storm Goddess. Faced with his negotiations, such a person would most likely disdainfully refuse...
Connor, knowing full well that this would be the outcome, still went through the "futile" effort of trying to negotiate with Pedro. On one hand, he didn't want to take any risks and wanted to obtain the potions as safely as possible. But more importantly, he wanted to use this as an excuse to draw Pedro's attention to the negotiations, so that he could take the opportunity to secretly make some arrangements under his feet.
Judging from the fact that Pedro is now trapped in that black bubble made of dark energy, Connor's plan was obviously very successful. Pedro, this devout follower of the Storm Goddess, fell to Connor's two-pronged attack so easily and without any struggle!
