Wizard Earl
Chapter 1113 Clues
After hearing Margaret's account, Connor immediately sensed the gravity of the situation, his expression turning serious. Margaret's meaning was clear: she only knew the potion was hidden in the Arius neighborhood, but she didn't know exactly which house or under which tree within the neighborhood it was hidden...
This is where things get complicated. The Arius neighborhood is one of the largest neighborhoods in Frosinone, covering hundreds of hectares with complete facilities, hundreds of residential buildings, and tens of thousands of permanent residents.
So finding a batch of potions in such a large area is like finding a needle in a haystack, which might be an exaggeration, but it is definitely not an easy task!
After a moment's thought, Connor seemed to have an idea and immediately asked Margaret, "Margaret, didn't you say that this batch of potions needs to be stored in refrigeration all day? Are there any ice storage facilities or anything like that in the Arius community?"
Before Connor could finish speaking, Margaret understood his meaning. However, to Connor's disappointment, Margaret shook her head at his suggestion and said with a wry smile, "If things were that simple, I wouldn't be struggling to find a place now. Although that batch of potions needs to be refrigerated all day, the church has placed each potion in a crystal box, so this batch of potions can be kept at room temperature and doesn't need to be stored in a cold storage."
Hearing Margaret say that, Connor immediately felt a little embarrassed, but then he thought that although the crystal box wasn't anything particularly valuable in the wizarding world.
However, each crystal box is worth around ten magic stones, and they are single-use items. Each crystal box can only be used for a maximum of three months after opening, so the cost of using the crystal boxes is not low. The potions stored in these crystal boxes must be incredibly valuable. Connor estimated that this batch of potions was worth at least tens of thousands of magic stones, definitely not low. Thinking about this, Connor became very excited about this batch of potions from the Church of Storms…
Connor and Margaret were walking down the pedestrian street, racking their brains but still no clue. It was almost noon, and neither of them had eaten since they met yesterday. Connor quickly took Margaret's hand and said to her, looking troubled, "Let's eat something and try to figure out where it is while we eat. We're not going to find anything like this."
Without giving Margaret a chance to object, he pulled her along into a nicely decorated restaurant on the side of the street called Uncle Giroud's Beer House. Although Connor's decision to go out for a meal made Margaret somewhat amused and exasperated, she thought that since the two of them couldn't think of anything anyway, they might as well have a meal and relax. With that in mind, Margaret didn't refuse Connor and accompanied him into Uncle Giroud's Beer House.
Because it was lunchtime, and it was located in the bustling Arius Community pedestrian street, a prime location, there were quite a few people at Uncle Giroud's Beer House, even though we didn't know how good the food was. The two-story restaurant was packed, with only two seats left in the corner.
"Waiter, give me a private room!" Connor ordered immediately after glancing around the restaurant.
Upon hearing Connor's shout, the waiter who came over to serve the customer immediately looked embarrassed, but before he could refuse, Connor tossed him a fivepence coin.
Looking at the coin in his hand, the waiter hesitated for a moment, but just as he was about to refuse, he saw Connor, who had no expression on his face, throw him another fivepence coin. Looking at the tenpence in his hand, which was enough for him to work for a week, the waiter finally made up his mind and said to Connor very respectfully, "Sir, please come with me."
Connor and Margaret followed the waiter to a private room on the second floor. After Connor casually ordered a few dishes, he dismissed the waiter. The waiter, after noting down Connor's order, hesitated for a moment, then said to Connor in a very pleading tone, "Esteemed guest, this private room is reserved for VIPs, so could you please please hurry up with your meal..."
Hearing this, Connor was immediately displeased, but Margaret, not wanting to cause any trouble, smiled and nodded at the waiter before Connor could speak, saying, "No problem, we'll get it as soon as possible!"
Having received Margaret's promise, the waiter was immediately grateful. He thanked Connor and Margaret twice and then went to arrange for the kitchen to serve the dishes.
After the waiter left, Margaret whispered to Connor, "Alright, alright, these are troublesome times, let's avoid trouble."
Since Margaret had spoken, Connor couldn't say anything more and could only shake his head helplessly, letting the matter drop.
The Giroud's Beer House served food fairly quickly; in just over twenty minutes, the food Connor had ordered was already on his table.
Connor and Margaret chatted and enjoyed their meal. It didn't take long before they finished eating, paid the bill, and were about to leave Uncle Giru's Beer House when three burly men swaggered in. Although they were all dressed in casual clothes and looked like ordinary people, Connor, being a psychic wizard, could tell at a glance that they were all wizards!
The man with the buzz cut and wearing a gray cotton robe who was in the lead among the three was a senior wizard apprentice, while the bald man in a black cotton coat and the man with a small mustache behind him were two intermediate wizard apprentices.
Connor was somewhat surprised to see the three wizard apprentices appear, but after glancing at them and finding nothing special about them, he didn't pay much attention to them, having just been advised by Margaret to avoid trouble. However, to Connor's surprise, Margaret seemed to have noticed something about the three and was discreetly observing them.
"Margaret, what's wrong?" Connor asked in a low voice.
Under Connor's gaze, a glint of light flashed in Margaret's beautiful eyes. She then leaned close to Connor's ear and whispered, "Connor, I think I've found a clue about that batch of potions..."
