Chapter 103 Varga's Jealousy
Chapter 103 Varga's Jealousy (Second Update, Please Subscribe!!!)
Under the cover of darkness in Rune that night, Connor, who was completely covered up in a trench coat, sunglasses, and top hat, set off. Although he did not know that Varga wanted to see him in this way, Connor thought that Varga must have her own reasons for doing so.
The note on Varga's paper mentioned Aunt Irene's Dessert Shop, a casually priced dessert shop in the North District of Loen, and the place where the original owner thanked Varga after she treated his injuries. The yellow jade bracelet in the wallet was undoubtedly the one Connor had given Varga.
Although it was already 6:30 p.m., Connor pushed open the door of the dessert shop and found it was still packed with people. The owner, Mrs. Eileen, and two waitresses were constantly going back and forth to the front desk, serving delicious desserts to the customers.
After glancing around at the people in the shop and not finding any trace of Varga, Connor calmly sat down in an empty seat.
"Four egg tarts, four cream puddings, a glass of lemonade, and a glass of original black tea!" Connor ordered, waving to one of the waitresses.
Although Varga has always been very careful about maintaining her figure, she also loves this egg tart and pudding. When Connor treated her to dinner before, she would eat several in one sitting!
"Sir, your order is ready!" Without keeping Connor waiting long, a tall, slender young waitress with a few freckles on her face handed over the dessert Connor had ordered.
"Thank you!" Connor nodded slightly, said thank you, and took out two one-shilling bills from his wallet, placing them on the table.
"Huh?" The waitress exclaimed in surprise as she saw Connor place two shillings on the table, instead of taking them.
"What, not enough?" Connor turned his head slightly, looking at the waitress who might be considered a "goddess" by some ordinary people, and said calmly:
"That's enough, ten pence is enough, I'll go and give the customer his change right away!" Upon hearing Connor's words, the waitress quickly explained, and then picked up one of the two bills on the table to go to the front desk to give Connor his change.
"No need, consider the rest your tip!" Connor felt a little embarrassed when he heard the waitress say that ten pence would be enough. He should have given her a shilling instead. He was currently tightening his belt to buy alchemy materials, so he wanted to save money wherever possible.
But the money has already been spent; to take it back would be incredibly embarrassing!
"Thank you! Thank you!" Upon hearing that Connor had left her own tip, the waitress's eyes lit up immediately. Without hesitation, she picked up the banknotes on the table and thanked Connor repeatedly.
Without saying a word, Connor waved his hand, indicating that there was nothing else and she could leave. The waitress left somewhat reluctantly, but even after she left, her eyes kept secretly watching Connor. Perhaps she thought that Connor was trying to strike up a conversation with her in this way.
Just as Connor was feeling the waitress's ambiguous gaze and was somewhat amused and annoyed, a petite figure wearing a large trench coat sat down at the table behind him, speaking to Connor with obvious jealousy.
"Feeling good, huh?"
Upon hearing this voice, Connor's face immediately showed obvious embarrassment. Sensing the familiar petite figure with his mental energy, he shrugged and said helplessly, "You know this isn't what I wanted."
Connor's explanation did not satisfy the lovely girl sitting behind him. She still deliberately used a cold tone and said in a huff, "Bring out the dessert!" After saying that, she stormed out of the dessert shop first, and glared fiercely at the waiter who had just served Connor as she left.
Shaking his head helplessly, Connor asked the front desk for a takeout box, packed the uneaten desserts into the box, and walked out of the dessert shop.
As soon as Connor stepped out the door, he saw the girl waiting for him under the big tree. However, the girl saw that Connor was still angry and walked to the side. Connor, carrying the dessert box, quickly chased after her.
"Varga, have you heard me? This was an accident, an accident, you know?"
"I only gave a small tip, just a tip!"

"Hmph!" Following Varga's footsteps, Connor explained for a full ten minutes before Varga finally let out a cold snort and stopped.
"Connor, do you know how hard I tried to sneak out to see you? But you were flirting with other girls!" Varga said with infinite grievance, looking as if Connor was a heartless man, and her beautiful eyes were also filled with tears.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, it really was an accident!" Seeing that Varga looked like she might cry at any moment, Connor was instantly at a loss. He would rather fight Margaret's wits than face Varga's tears.
Connor's repeated apologies finally won Varga's forgiveness, and the tears in her eyes slowly receded.
Seeing this, Connor quickly handed over the dessert box he was holding, saying somewhat ingratiatingly, "I just bought these from the dessert shop; they're all your favorites!"
Varga glanced at Connor, took the dessert box he offered, and after a quick look, pointed to a quiet bench in a nearby park and said, "Let's go there."
As she landed on a park bench, Varga touched the ring on her hand, and a briefcase immediately appeared in her palm.
"Here you go!" Varga handed the suitcase to Connor.
"What is this?" Although he already knew the answer in his heart, Connor still pretended not to have guessed when he took the suitcase.
"Just open it and see!" Varga said, taking a delicate, ladylike bite into the fragrant egg tart.
Although he already guessed what was inside the briefcase, Connor was still shocked by the sheer number of potions inside.
The suitcase, which was about half a person's height, was filled with all sorts of medicines. After a quick glance, Connor found that there were at least thirty or forty vials of medicine.
"How is it? Satisfied?" Looking at the shocked expression on Connor's face, Varga said with a touch of pride:
"You got so many medicines from the hospital, are you alright?" Connor swallowed hard and asked Varga with a serious expression.
Although he longed to obtain the potions from Varga, he did not want Varga to encounter any unnecessary trouble because of them.
"What are you thinking? These potions are my personal property!" Varga rolled her eyes at Connor and giggled.
(Oops, there was a slight problem. Chapter 98 will be a bonus, but I guess this counts as me writing 10,000 words a day?)
