Douluo Continent: My Martial Soul is the Mysterious Heavy Ruler

Chapter 14 The Auction (Part 3)

While Xiao Yi was reviewing the details of the items that appeared at the auction, he discovered several impressive treasures.

For example, rare items such as the left arm bone of the 37,000-year-old Bright Saber-toothed Tiger, the Ruyi Treasure Pouch, and the ten-thousand-year-old whale glue.

"Hmm? The Ruyi Treasure Pouch? Isn't this the soul tool that Dugu Bo has that can store living things? That makes sense. The original work didn't mention when Dugu Bo obtained it, so it was probably at the auction around this time."

Xiao Yi muttered to himself.

"Young friend, is anyone here?"

Just then, a gentle voice came from the side. Xiao Yi turned his head and saw a middle-aged man dressed in white with a refined appearance speaking to him with a gentle smile.

Strangely, he wasn't wearing a mask, and the passing waiters gave him respectful looks.

Beside him stood an elderly man with silver hair, dressed in blue, and with skin as tender as a baby's.

Strangely, the old man did not exude any aura, but he looked like a sword, which was dazzling to behold.

"This must be Ning Fengzhi and Sword Douluo."

Xiao Yi thought to himself.

"There's no one here, just me. If you want to sit, feel free to sit," Xiao Yi said to the middle-aged man.

After the middle-aged man sat down next to the old man, he began to chat with Xiao Yi.

"Young friend, you look unfamiliar. This must be your first time in Heaven Dou City. Are you finding it difficult to adjust?"

Hearing this, Xiao Yi felt helpless, but still replied, "It is indeed my first time in Tian Dou City. Before coming here, I had always heard how prosperous Tian Dou City was, and now that I have come here, it truly lives up to its reputation."

"Of course, after all, it is the capital of one of the two empires, and its construction and prosperity are among the best on the entire continent."

……

After chatting for a while, the auction began, and everyone was watching the items on stage with great interest.

Since it was the beginning of the auction and the items weren't very valuable, Xiao Yi wasn't particularly interested.

Next to each seat, there is a dedicated bidding button with four different buttons for 100, 1,000, 10,000, and 100,000, representing the price to be bid each time.

During this time, the middle-aged man and the person next to him began to communicate telepathically.

"Uncle Jian, can you tell this young man's cultivation level?"

"He seems to have some means or tools to conceal his aura. I sensed it as soon as I saw him, but I couldn't see his exact cultivation level. It was around the Soul Sect level."

"At this age, he's a genius even if he doesn't reach the Soul Grandmaster level, and reaching the Soul Grandmaster level would be even better. Uncle Jian, what do you think?"

"Feng Zhi is not an option. I know you want to win him over, but he has no connection with us. Besides, since he is a genius, he is arrogant. Even if we can't win him over, it's enough to be on good terms with him."

Xiao Yi saw where they were communicating telepathically and knew what they were talking about, but he didn't care. So far, they had no interests in the matter, so he wasn't afraid of them using underhanded tactics.

Because Xiao Yi was wearing a mask, his exact age could not be determined, but the aura he exuded, which was roughly equivalent to that of a Soul Master, proved that he was not very old.

The middle-aged man was very curious about Xiao Yi and had to ask, "You're so young to be at an auction, what are you looking to buy?"

"I need to buy something."

"I didn't realize you were good at auctions at such a young age."

"I heard there were some valuable items up for auction today, and when I came here, I found that I had what I wanted, so I came here," Xiao Yi replied.

Just then, the auction reached its climax.

The host on the stage, holding a megaphone and smiling, announced to the bidders, "Next, we will be auctioning a rare and precious item. Those interested, especially male VIPs, please take note."

As he spoke, he gestured to the audience, and three burly men pushed a cart onto the stage. The cart was covered with a red cloth, so the contents could not be seen, but from its shape, it resembled a large, square box.

Xiao Yi and the middle-aged man were both drawn to the newly released item and stopped talking.

The host said mysteriously, "Can everyone guess what this is? Well then, I'll reveal the starting price to our esteemed guests first. The starting price for this item is 100,000 Gold Soul Coins. Each bid must be at least 10,000 Gold Soul Coins higher. This is a top-tier item among top-tier items."

As the auctioneer, creating a lively atmosphere and stimulating the enthusiasm of the bidders is clearly a must-learn skill, and he successfully captured their attention.

"Now, please take a close look, distinguished guests." As he spoke, he grabbed the red cloth and ripped it off.

After the red light flashed, what was revealed was not a box, but a huge iron cage. Inside the cage, a young girl was curled up.

The girl's body was mostly exposed, with only her vital parts covered by seashells. Because she was curled up, her face was not clearly visible, but her figure was almost perfect.

Her fair skin was like a piece of crystal jade, and her short black hair had a unique charm.

"Perhaps our esteemed guests are wondering why such a girl could command such a high starting price, the same as the beauties we've trained for years at our auction house. But if you look closely, you'll discover her special qualities." As he spoke, the host pulled out a stick from somewhere, reached into the iron cage, and gently lifted the girl's short black hair near her ear, revealing her ear.

Those weren't human ears, but rather small, pointed ears similar to those of a cat, which turned slightly red when touched lightly with a stick.

"That's right, the guests are not mistaken. This is a rare fox girl. When her martial soul awakened, her body mutated and she gained some fox-like features. Her eyes are one blue and one green, which is quite charming, and she even has a long tail." He tapped the girl's buttocks with a stick. The girl twisted her body in pain, revealing a white fox tail that had been hidden behind her.

"It's safe to say she's one of a kind on the continent. To have such a beautiful fox as a pet would be an incredible blessing. Just imagine what it would be like to grab her tail while you're doing your thing!"

As he spoke, the host wore an ambiguous expression, tracing an arc in the air with the stick in his hand. "Distinguished guests, you may now place your bids."

Xiao Yi remained expressionless, knowing that he couldn't stop it with his own strength. Even if he saved the fox woman, there would be others. As long as there was profit to be made, there would be a constant stream of business. This was unsolvable, because the nobles of this world were ruthless and heartless. Unless one day his strength could intimidate these nobles.

The contract has been signed. I estimate I'll start testing the waters tomorrow. I'll try my best to write a good work, and I hope everyone won't hold off on reading it. Thank you.
