The Silent Bookstore Manager at Hogwarts

Chapter 79 Delivering the Message and Heading to Strasbourg

Arthur Weasley told his family about this, which was a secret but was actually known to almost the entire British wizarding world. The pure-blood families were trying to prove to Dumbledore that they had done nothing, even though Dumbledore didn't care at all because he already knew whose handiwork it was.

As for what Dumbledore was concerned about, he had finally found Nicolas Flamel's house, which Red and Harry had visited, by using magic to investigate along the way.

"So...they really did come here, and then took those maps you gave them and went to...Paris? Two eleven or twelve-year-old boys going to Paris together?!"

Dumbledore's tone rose slightly when he mentioned this, and Nicolas Flamel's choice in this matter seemed no different from madness—giving two children a map and sending them to Paris.

"Well... I forgot to tell you." Nicolas Flamel's smile was full of apology. He finally realized what he had forgotten: he should have told Dumbledore that these two kids, who had never hidden their Hogwarts student identities, were going to Paris.

"Well, I'm sorry to bother you, but at least I know where to look for them now..." Dumbledore sighed. He felt he was sighing more and more lately. If he could, he should buy more candy when he passed by a candy store to soothe his soul.

"Indeed, I gave them the addresses of my former residence and my studio in Paris. You should be able to find them there..."

Nicolas Flamel nodded. The two young men should actually be able to handle those things, but out of consideration for Dumbledore's feelings, he didn't say it aloud.

Dumbledore left Nicolas Flamel's house, rubbing his temples. He regretted not telling Harry why he had to stay at the Dursleys' house for a while; at least then Harry might have reconsidered running away from home.

But it's not too late to say anything now, as long as he goes to Paris, finds those two little ones, and explains the situation to them...

"What do you mean by 'something big has happened at the French Ministry of Magic'?"

Dumbledore looked at Fudge, who felt cold sweat soaking the back of his clothes.

"It's like this... Headmaster Dumbledore, you can take a look at the report first. Someone is provoking the French Ministry of Magic, and it's a blatant provocation."

Dumbledore took the newspaper. In fact, the French Ministry of Magic originally intended to suppress the contents of the newspaper, since it was indeed a complete slap in their face, but in the end they failed to do so.

One night, a group of wanted dark wizards were dumped in the square of Furstenberg. The wizards were stripped naked, leaving them with nothing but their robes. Even the leader of the dark wizards had a wooden plaque hung around his neck.

Please maintain local security.

These were sentences written in slightly broken French. The reporters from the Wizarding Newspaper who rushed to the scene that day almost completely surrounded the ground part of the square, and the French Ministry of Magic instantly became the object of ridicule.

Dumbledore rubbed his eyes, then opened the newspaper, then closed it in disbelief, rubbed his eyes again, and opened it again.

"The French Ministry of Magic wants to invite you to join their investigation; they are determined to bring this mysterious killer to justice..."

Fudge spoke in a low voice, "The French Ministry of Magic is absolutely desperate this time. They're so desperate that they're even asking the British Ministry of Magic for help, hoping they can send Dumbledore as an outsider to solve this mysterious case."

"Phew... I understand, I'll go there myself."

"Oh?! Okay... I'll arrange it right away."

Fudge was taken aback. He had thought Dumbledore would refuse, since the matter of the two young wizards seemed more important. But to his surprise, Dumbledore agreed to the request without much hesitation.

As for Dumbledore, he could only bitterly rejoice that at least Harry and Red were alright, and that they had even wiped out a group of dark wizards and robbed them of everything.

"Is there any news from France?"

"No, all tracking magic was either obscured by the thick fog or the bright light, so nothing meaningful could be seen at all... Moreover, the only ones using magic at the scene were those dark wizards; the French Aurors didn't track down any magical traces other than theirs."

Fudge explained in detail that this was actually the main reason why the French Ministry of Magic sought help from the British Ministry of Magic. The mysterious man who had dealt with the dark wizards was incredibly powerful. He had subdued the entire group of dark wizards without using any spells and hadn't even seriously injured them. The man's strength was probably beyond their ability to handle, which was why they hoped Dumbledore would lend a hand.

"I see......"

Dumbledore remained expressionless, and these characteristics undoubtedly indicated that this was the work of Red and Harry; only they possessed the ability to subdue wizards without spells or magic.

Dumbledore decided to head to Paris, France immediately, at least before things got any more chaotic; he needed to find the two young wizards to prevent them from being retaliated against by the dark wizards.

Meanwhile, Red and Harry had already boarded the train and left Paris. The dark wizards were indeed good at fighting, but almost none of them had any experience in dealing with assassinations or close combat. Even without Red, Harry alone, wearing an invisibility cloak and lurking in the fog and shadows, terrified the dark wizards.

"Red, do we really want to make such a big fuss? Wouldn't it be better to leave quietly?"

Harry was a little worried. Was it really a good idea for them to embarrass the French Ministry of Magic like this? They were still in France, after all.

"This is to tell our dear headmaster not to worry about us. Otherwise, what if he's always worried about us disappearing while he's in England?"

Red chuckled heartlessly. He was simply explaining to Dumbledore that they were in good condition. After that, they would be leaving Paris, and Dumbledore would probably be heading there soon. So Red took all the valuables and headed to their next destination.

"Strasbourg, this is our next destination... a place that was often embroiled in war and plunder in ancient times, and whose regimes changed hands several times."
