The Silent Bookstore Manager at Hogwarts
Chapter 62 Ferencze's Solution
"What is that?" Malfoy wondered if he was going crazy, or if he was already dead and just dreaming. Otherwise, how could he see someone who shouldn't exist in the Forbidden Forest at all?
"Oh, you were dreaming. So go to sleep now. When you wake up, you'll forget all about these scary things. An eleven-year-old shouldn't remember such terrifying things."
Red casually replied, and Malfoy seemed to finally relax. He quietly closed his eyes, and his vision went black as he fell into a dream. The dream was so vivid that Red felt he could invade it at any moment.
"How did you do that?"
Harry asked in confusion. He had guessed that Red could get to him in some way, but the method still seemed a little creepy.
"I just have my own ideas about how to use the power of the [Lamp] principle, and it's not exactly a stable power. Anyway, you should have a good chat with that centaur. I need to go back to sleep."
Red's figure gradually faded away, looking like a ghost about to disappear. Along with Red's spirit, the soul of a unicorn also vanished. Harry didn't know why he could see the unicorn's soul, but he saw it. Before the unicorn's soul left, it nuzzled Harry's hair, as if trying to leave something behind, but in the end, it could only quietly disappear into the air.
"Your name is Harry, right? You have to leave now. Many animals in the Forbidden Forest know your name, and it's not safe for you to stay here."
The centaur spoke first, directly mentioning Harry's name, which surprised him somewhat.
"That monster that slaughtered the unicorn, that monster that committed an unforgivable crime, will not let this go. If you stay here, you will be targeted by it again."
The centaur's voice was so certain; he hadn't seen Voldemort in black being repelled, otherwise Harry felt he wouldn't have said it with such conviction.
"He killed more than one unicorn, right?"
Harry asked, "The fact that the dying unicorn still managed to escape some distance, leaving blood splattered on the road, already indicates that more than one unicorn has been Voldemort's target."
The centaur didn't speak, but nodded in affirmation. He bent down and picked up Malfoy, placing him on the part of his body that belonged to the horse.
"I've come to take you away from here."
"Unicorn blood, even without processing, can produce some kind of effect, right?"
Harry asked the question again, feeling that he had found the key to the problem.
"Yes, unicorn blood has the power to prolong life. Even unicorns that have been slaughtered possess this mysterious power. However, if someone drinks this blood, they will become a half-dead monster."
"May I know your name?"
"Of course, Ferencze...that's my name."
As Frenzer spoke, he looked ahead and saw reassuring lights coming on. Harry saw this too, and then Axe and Hagrid arrived.
"That's all for now, Harry... Good luck."
Ferenczek put Malfoy down. He seemed reluctant to say anything to Hagrid and quietly disappeared into the bushes.
"Frenze... I have one last question."
"Please speak." Ferrenze turned around, somewhat surprised that Harry still wanted to ask a question at this moment, but still spoke very patiently.
"I want to know how you found me."
Ferrenze didn't answer; he left quietly. But sometimes, no response is a response in itself. Hagrid, Hermione, and Ron, who had rushed over, were puzzled to see Harry and Malfoy clinging to his back.
"Harry, are you alright?" Hagrid asked, holding a crossbow in his hand. Harry didn't know if it would work on Professor Quirrell, who was possessed by Voldemort, but at least he felt a little safer.
"I'm fine. Ferenczek just came by and brought me here."
Harry carried Malfoy to Hagrid's side and handed Malfoy over. Malfoy, who was already asleep, would not wake up for a while. Red's hypnosis was exceptionally effective at this moment. At least Harry felt that Malfoy was definitely worthy of this hypnotic spell to enter a sweet dream.
However, he couldn't sleep peacefully. The poachers in the Forbidden Forest were gone, but the traces they left behind still needed to be investigated. The unicorn needed to be buried. Most importantly, Harry felt his scars were still burning. He had to start adjusting his mindset to avoid being affected further.
His "great enemy" shouldn't be Voldemort. In fact, according to Red, he shouldn't even have a so-called "great enemy," as that would only limit his achievements in the study of the Great Arts.
"Excuse me, I need to rest for a bit. We can talk about the Forbidden Forest later. I'll explain it to you in detail when Red arrives, okay?"
Harry took a deep breath; he felt he needed to rest for a while, or at least get his head all sorted out.
Hermione and Ron had no objections. In fact, they had seen the light that burst forth in the Forbidden Forest, which was why they were able to find Harry so quickly. But even so, Harry seemed to have taken all the blame on his own. At least they really didn't think that the sleeping Malfoy had played any positive role in this matter.
So the next day, when they sat again by the fireplace, listening to the pleasant sound of the burning wood, Harry finally healed his wounds and began to tell his story.
"So... in other words, Voldemort appeared in the Forbidden Forest to prolong his life with unicorn blood?"
Ron's breathing became heavy, and he looked terrified.
"In fact, his real target should have been the Philosopher's Stone, but Headmaster Dumbledore was still at the school, so he dared not act rashly and could only rely on the blood of the unicorn to prolong his life..."
Harry offered an explanation, then looked at Red, who was flipping through a book—still about Transfiguration, but this time he had chosen a different one.
"So, have you guessed where the Philosopher's Stone is?"
"If Hagrid getting the dragon egg wasn't a coincidence..." Harry looked at the fire.
"That means... Voldemort has begun looking for a way to bypass the guards, and that way is with Fulvi the Cerberus..."
Hermione suddenly realized what was happening.
"We have to tell the professor!"
