The Silent Bookstore Manager at Hogwarts
Chapter 61 The Man in Black Robes
This was the first time Malfoy had ever witnessed such a horrific scene. As the young master of a pure-blood wizarding family, his father would not allow him to be exposed to such things, but today, he had seen with his own eyes a dying life about to be embraced by death.
"The poacher made his move, but didn't succeed completely... What was he hesitating about? No, it wasn't hesitation."
But Harry remained completely unfazed; the battlefield in his dream was far more gruesome than this. Instead, Harry began to focus on the wounds on the dying unicorn.
"...If you are about to pass away, may you go to a place where you can enjoy peace after death."
Harry approached the unicorn, which had been struggling, and then quietly watched him before slowly lying down on the ground, as if accepting its fate.
Harry silently began to bandage the unicorn's wounds. Malfoy didn't understand why Harry was doing this. The unicorn was beyond saving, or rather, it was impossible for the two of them to revive it. Hagrid, the only one who could possibly do it, was not with them at the moment, but Harry still did it.
"Death is a very important ritual... for both the deceased and those who remain alive..."
Harry began to explain, knowing that Malfoy probably wouldn't understand, but he continued anyway, offering the unicorn a final farewell.
The wailing unicorn slowly calmed down; the cold took away its pain. It gave Harry one last, feeble lick, as if trying to tell him something.
"Besides you, there were other victims... right?"
Harry spoke calmly, sensing the eerie aura emanating from the Forbidden Forest, as well as the power of Red, who had already arrived outside the Forbidden Forest.
The unicorn strained to rest its head next to Harry's hand, which was stroking its head, as a reminder that the danger was not over. Then, the light in the unicorn's eyes slowly faded, and it fell asleep peacefully in the Forbidden Forest forever.
"Malfoy, we have to get out of here as soon as possible... We can't stay here."
Harry stood up, wiped the unicorn blood off his hands, and said something that puzzled Malfoy.
"Can't you explain why we have to leave now?"
Harry sighed and looked at Malfoy.
"The hunter didn't leave, so he must still be searching for his prey... We stayed right next to the prey, and even stumbled upon the truth that the unicorn was killed by the hunter, which means..."
"He has to kill you to cover up the truth, or at least buy time."
Malfoy's hair stood on end. He raised his wand and unleashed a curse, but it had no effect on the eerie man in black. He realized his foolishness.
"Hello........"
To Malfoy's astonishment, Harry calmly greeted the man in black again, as if he had expected him to come. Malfoy wanted to yell at Harry to take immediate action, whatever it was, because the two of them couldn't just die here like this.
Aren't you scared?
The man in the black robes seemed to have a hint of... curiosity in his question. Yes, Harry could detect that strange emotion. The man didn't seem worried about his identity being exposed; he even had time to ask the question.
"Because I know who you are..."
Harry touched his burning scar, a special sensation brought about by the Colonel's power. Since he had gained power from the Colonel's domain, it was impossible to avoid being bound by His rules.
"It's [the struggle]... That's why I understand what your existence is all about."
Harry's words filled Voldemort with a nauseating feeling. The boy showed no fear of him, as if he were not the Dark Lord of the past, but an ordinary dark wizard.
Voldemort then tried to get close to Harry, intending to inscribe fear upon him and make him understand why the Dark Lord was the Dark Lord.
"Therefore, I will follow the teachings of the precepts..."
The fireflies flickered, but everything was so calm, with only the howling wind and the faint sound of something hitting the ground in the distance. But that had nothing to do with Harry. He calmly looked at the huge black robe. What was inside the robe was hidden in the shadows, but Harry could sense that it had been forcibly taken over and bound inside the robe.
The silent glow flickered, and Malfoy stared blankly at Harry. The light emanating from his hand was so dazzling, but it was meaningless in repelling the man in black. It wasn't a Dementor, and Harry hadn't cast the Patronus Charm. The mere glow couldn't possibly hinder the man in black in any way.
As Malfoy watched this scene, his brain could no longer command his body to do anything more. He felt as if he saw Harry lying on the ground covered in blood, and then himself; they would both die here because of his stupid question.
"Greetings to you, you idiot..."
However, reality was exactly the opposite of what Malfoy had imagined. Amidst the blinding light, a figure flickered and appeared. He then "grasped" the flickering light, transforming it into a sword that pierced the black-robed man's body, eliciting a painful roar in response.
"No!!! How dare you!!!"
"Harry!" Red's soul essence seemed a little unstable. Harry knew he absolutely couldn't waste this opportunity. He took off his glasses, then removed the lens with one hand and placed it in front of his glowing hand. The silent glow-in-the-dark charm was still too much for him, so he was no longer able to do anything else.
"The glass and lacquerware have taught us... light reveals, light blinds."
The light was confined, making the darkness of the Forbidden Forest even more profound. Voldemort never expected that a first-year wizard would have such fancy tricks, let alone that such tricks would actually hurt him.
The light that pierced his body, or rather, Professor Quirrell's flesh, caused Voldemort unbearable pain. He felt his vision turn into pure white, and within this pure white vision, Harry and Red were already preparing for the most fatal blow.
"No...no no..." Miraculously, the man in black robes moved, fleeing the scene almost on his hands and feet. Harry and Red laid down their weapons, and Professor Quirrell regained his body. His soul had not been blinded by the one-time weapon created by Red using the "Lamp" principle, so he quickly found a way to escape.
Just then, the sound of a heavy object crashing to the ground drew closer. Harry turned around and saw a centaur rushing towards him... He seemed to know nothing.
