The Silent Bookstore Manager at Hogwarts

Chapter 47 Combination Spellcasting

"What... what's going on?"

"Actually, I want to try combination spells. Do you remember what Professor Flitwick told us in our Charms class?"

"A spell needs to be accompanied by the correct gestures and tone of voice to be fully released..."

Harry looked

"Clear water like a spring"

"Levitation Spell"

"Obstacles are numerous"

The three spells combined into one attack, and Harry instinctively reached out to try to retaliate, but after being hit by numerous obstacles, his movement became slowed down, and he was unable to block the next two spells at all.

The floating water solidified into a huge water prison, enveloping Harry. Although Harry immediately held his breath to avoid drowning, he still lost the ability to fight back because he could not cast a spell.

Two seconds later, the water prison collapsed, and Harry, soaked to the bone, gasped for breath and got up helplessly.

"Is this what they call multicasting? That's a bit scary..."

"It's just a basic combination. It's fine for dealing with some minor wizards, but it's completely meaningless against advanced magic like Apparition or other sophisticated spells," Red commented. He told Harry to change his clothes first, and then looked at his two soul entities. The soul entity holding the wand looked almost identical to his real self, with almost no flaws except for the lack of a physical body.

"The mana consumption isn't too high, which means this fighting style is actually effective..."

A surge of magic began to sway along with his wand, and the stone beside him was transformed into an owl by Red using Transfiguration, which then turned into a dagger.

"Controlling Transfiguration is indeed very difficult. If it weren't for my soul essence, I would have a hard time guaranteeing that I could maintain control for an extended period of time..."

Red shook his wrist; Harry had already come out of the ward, dressed in brand new clothes.

"Today we're going to renovate the [Patient Lounge]... That place used to be a treatment room where guests could relieve stress and have some entertainment, but it's been abandoned for too long, so we need to find out what's still usable there."

[Patient Rest Area]: The upstairs room may have once been a rest area, but the furniture and facilities have long been smashed and overturned; the walls are covered with streaks of mold. A foul odor emanates from deep within the room. (Repair Requires: 5 [Hearts] or 5 [Cups])

Harry covered his nose. The long-sealed room, or rather the entire variegated tower, seemed to be enveloped by an unpleasant odor, so much so that Harry had to adjust his breathing to cope with it.

"It just so happens to be a windy day today, which is why I asked you to clean this room. Otherwise, we might have had to wait for a more suitable day."

As Red spoke, the force of the howling wind outside the castle entered Harry's body.

[Gale]: Trees bend, walls creak, and travelers bend over to ward off the gale. (Characteristics: 3 Hearts, 3 Vaults)

Harry felt his heartbeat become strong and powerful, his body filled with a power that didn't belong to him, and his mind began to clear. Unlike the brightness brought by the [Lamp], the power of the [Dome] was gentle but made him feel orderly, and even his thoughts became more organized.

"This is the most basic manifestation of the power of the Thunderous Skin. Of course, people are more accustomed to conveying its power through dance and drumming, which is why such wondrous beings as the dancers who never stop dancing exist..."

Red stretched his back and then began to tidy up the patient lounge with Harry. The damage here did not have any supernatural elements involved. Although it was much more troublesome to clean than Solomon's bedroom, Harry was obviously very relaxed, or rather, he was already used to this kind of physical work and was more at ease.

"Oh, right, I'll get you a book to look at later. It's an introduction to the [Fire Stealing Technique], so it shouldn't be a problem for you."

Harry wiped his sweat. He suddenly realized that he was actually much more tired than when he was at his aunt's house. At least his aunt didn't seem to have such a full schedule for him.

Despite these thoughts, Harry eagerly accepted the book Red handed him. More than a book, Harry felt it was a diary. He couldn't understand just how diverse the collection at the Silent Bookstore was, that they could even get their hands on someone's diary. And the fact that someone was actually willing to write about great techniques in their diary was what Harry hadn't expected at all.

*The Bancroft Diary*: Lord Franklin Bancroft learned the art of floristry through Fiona Ayrshire, the "Rose Witch." From then on, he rose rapidly through the ranks, making a living by providing esoteric rituals and secret pleasures to high society, until he suddenly disappeared without a trace in 1790. (Mystery: 4 [Lamp]) (Contains profound artistic teachings: [Flame Script])

【Flame Script】: "A script that the whole world must read, even the blind, written amidst flames." A craft concerning fireworks and their kin: light, color, and infernal explosions. (Characteristics: 2 Castings, 1 Lamp)

"This lord seems a bit frivolous..."

Harry muttered a complaint. Although he hadn't looked at the contents carefully, he had only flipped through a few pages and found a bunch of things that were incredibly absurd. For example, he flipped through three pages in a row, and they were all about the lord lamenting that the Rose Witch refused to have sex with him.

"Isn't he just a pervert?"

"You don't think everyone is a perfectly upright and kind person, do you?" Red sighed. Harry seemed to have some strange filter on the world, such as the idea that capable people must also be of good character.

"It's not that bad..." Harry sighed. He still felt that anyone whose work was preserved by the Silent Books had to be a decent person. He flipped through twenty pages, and they were all Bancroft's lamentations about the Rose Witch's beauty and sorrow. No matter how you looked at it, it sounded a bit too far-fetched.

"Just pretend those twenty pages don't exist. After all, it's someone's diary. We've already invaded their privacy, haven't we?"

As Red said this, the lounge had just been renovated, so Harry drew back the curtains, found a stool, and sat down. He was used to finding a place to sit and concentrate on reading, and as long as no one disturbed him, he could quickly get into the zone.
