The Silent Bookstore Manager at Hogwarts
Chapter 46 Soul Matter and the Magic Wand
Throughout history, there have been countless wizarding organizations, but only two dark wizarding groups have truly wielded enormous influence.
The Saints, founded by Gellert Grindelwald, and the Death Eaters, founded by Tom Riddle...
Dumbledore showed obvious emotional fluctuations when these two names were mentioned, especially the former. It is likely that this Grindelwald had quite a bit of contact with Albus Dumbledore, otherwise he would not have received such high praise from Dumbledore.
Yes, Red could tell that although Dumbledore had been very careful with his words when introducing Grindelwald, he could still sense the complex emotions Dumbledore had for him.
"In fact, even though most of the Saints and Death Eaters have been arrested and imprisoned, many of their remnants are still active in Europe and Britain. Red, be careful of these guys and try not to have any contact with them."
Dumbledore instinctively gave a word of advice. He didn't want to see another tragedy happen. The old man had already experienced enough tragedies in his life, and he didn't want to create another one himself.
He then realized that his instructions were mostly unnecessary, since Red had already dealt with the two dark wizards properly, and it was hard to say that Red knew nothing about them.
"They're just a bunch of headless corpses that are still moving; nothing particularly scary... But Principal, look at all the points I lost!"
Red tentatively asked, and sure enough, accumulating points little by little was too slow. He started to explore whether he could take a shortcut or something, at least saving some effort was always good.
Dumbledore suddenly burst into laughter. He finally saw a bit of a little wizard in Red. He happily unwrapped a candy and put it in his mouth.
"I'll handle the grades. I hope you can help me... take good care of Harry."
Dumbledore sighed. In the end, he still couldn't completely trust Harry to do those things. With the Invisibility Cloak and Professor Red's skills, he simply couldn't imagine what kind of trouble Harry, who, although better than James back then, still had a reckless nature, could get into.
"Even if you didn't say it, I would have done it..."
Red nodded. Dumbledore hadn't pursued the matter of the dark wizard, so naturally he wouldn't say anything more. The old man had already tacitly agreed to give him the two wands, so Red, having received the benefit, naturally wouldn't do anything to cause any trouble.
Of course, when he returned to the common dining hall, what Harry had told him still opened Red's eyes.
"You mean you came into contact with a mirror without warning? And that mirror contained what you most wanted to see... Harry, do you remember what mirrors usually represent?"
Red slapped his forehead, looking at Harry as if he were a fool.
"Even inside Hogwarts, Harry, couldn't you be a little more alert? It's obvious there's something wrong with that mirror, isn't it?"
Harry nodded. He did realize this very quickly. The mirror was clearly not a normal thing, but he was indeed attracted by what was inside it: him with both parents and a warm family.
"Has anything else happened?"
"In fact, we found a book about Nicolas Flamel and have largely determined that the items stolen from Gringotts are most likely... the Philosopher's Stone, something that is said to be able to bring people back to life. In the world of ordinary people, it would be called the Philosopher's Stone."
Harry didn't use the word "Muggle" in front of Red, nor did he like using it. However, people around him used "Muggle" to refer to ordinary people, and if he used "ordinary people," it would take others time to understand. He only used the word when talking to Red.
"The Philosopher's Stone... Harry, do you know? The Fire-Stealing Technique we're about to learn also has a refining process similar to that used to create the Philosopher's Stone."
Red spoke up, revealing that he had no particular attachment to the so-called resurrection-making device; in fact, he simply didn't need it.
"In other words..."
Harry swallowed hard. He understood what Red meant. He remembered everyone's evaluation of Nicolas Flamel. If he studied hard enough, maybe he could get a similar evaluation.
"In other words, you'll have something to learn. After all, this path will inevitably touch upon Si Chen's domain. I can't let you try to operate it on your own until you've learned enough. Also, alchemy and potions are two completely different things. If you start learning alchemy, I reckon Snape will dislike you even more. So, do you have any thoughts?"
Harry pondered for a moment, then finally looked up. His expression was very calm, but the resolute force in his words was enough to make his determination clear.
"Although I don't think Snape is a bad person, I hate him. If that day ever comes, I will teach him a lesson myself and tell him that he is not a good teacher at all. He is a Potions genius, but he is definitely not a qualified teacher."
Harry asserted this because he had indeed met truly good teachers, such as Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick. Although some might argue that this was simply a difference in teaching style, Harry did not believe that Snape's practice of bringing personal grudges into teaching was correct.
Of course, what he didn't say was that he felt the best teacher was Red, the older brother who had led him into the world of great arts.
"How about we work towards that goal? But today... Harry, get ready to get to work. This winter, we're going to climb to the top of the Variegated Tower."
Harry nodded. He never thought there was anything wrong with Red giving orders; in fact, he thought it was fine... However, he could sense that Red clearly had something else he wanted to say.
"Oh, if you have time, there's something I've always wanted to try, but I haven't had the chance yet."
"I know, I'll be your experimental subject, right?" Harry shrugged. He had a feeling that what Red wanted to experiment on was definitely more tiring and dangerous than Quidditch training, but what did it matter?
Of course, Harry's confidence was quickly shattered when he saw three Reds, each holding a wand, standing quietly inside the Silent Bookstore, waiting for his arrival.
