The Silent Bookstore Manager at Hogwarts

Chapter 19 Charms Class and Overly Violent Talent

Dumbledore never imagined that two eleven-year-old children would start their morning practice early and then spar with wooden swords at Hogwarts. In fact, judging from his own experience, the two children were quite skilled in close combat, considering that he, as a wizard, had not engaged in close combat for a long time.

Of course, Red and Harry didn't pay any attention to this well-hidden guest. Although they both felt the sensation of being watched, since the other party was only looking at them and didn't show himself, there was no need to waste time on it. They had just enough time, not too much and not too little, for Harry to learn a little more of the basics.

"Ha...let me catch my breath."

Harry put down his wooden sword. He had no idea where Red got so much energy. Everyone had the same schedule for the day, and Harry was so tired that he could barely lift his arms, but Red seemed to be working flawlessly.

"It's okay, this is normal. Just get used to it, like I taught you to breathe..."

Harry followed Red's instructions. The Commandments of Scars not only taught him how to fight, but also a lot of knowledge outside of combat, such as intelligence gathering and analysis, methods of protecting himself, and even how to maintain his condition after a battle. Breathing techniques were just one of them.

Harry's breathing calmed down. The Commandments of Scars was like a treasure trove to him; almost everything he wanted to find could be found in this great art that had rather than taught him was like a flood of knowledge poured into his brain.

"Let's get ready to have breakfast..."

Red wiped his sweat. In fact, as wizards, they didn't need to practice close combat.

However, Harry wasn't facing his classmates, but rather that mysterious man. Red didn't know much about this mysterious man; he was a dark wizard who had once ruled the wizarding world. In that case, no amount of practice would be wasted, since preparation is essential for battle.

"Okay..." Harry caught his breath. They might not actually need to fight in close combat in the future, but learning close combat skills would be beneficial for a wizard. After all, if you could take down your opponent before they could even draw their wand, that would be the best option.

Breakfast went very smoothly. Ron was indeed curious about why Harry had disappeared from his dormitory so early in the morning, but when he heard the word "morning exercise," all his curiosity turned into a strange respect, as if he had seen some incredible and rare creature.

"I... I really didn't expect anyone to get up and exercise at this time of day."

Harry understood. If he didn't genuinely feel that his body and soul were getting stronger, he wouldn't have had the willpower to get out of his warm bed and practice on a September morning.

Red wasn't surprised at all. He was more concerned about the spell class he was about to take. His application of spells wasn't as smooth as he had originally expected. Many spells didn't work as well as they intended; it was more like he was controlling the magic brick to achieve the desired effect.

For example...

"Fluorescent Light"

Under the watchful gaze of the diminutive halfling Professor Flitwick, Reid effortlessly made the tip of his wand emit a soft glow. Just as Professor Flitwick was about to speak, he saw the point of light begin to expand, then seem to transform into a lamp, but its brightness continued to increase. As a result, not only did all the Hufflepuff students put down their wands and stare blankly at Reid, but even the Slytherin students nearby widened their eyes in astonishment.

While they couldn't even fully grasp the brightness of the fluorescent lights, one classmate was already playing with them as if they were glowing orbs. This undoubtedly made them realize what genius truly meant.

Professor Flitwick paused, swallowing back the words of praise he was about to utter, because Reid's expression was clearly not quite right.

When Red looked to Professor Flitwick for help, he was unsure what Red meant. As a duelist wizard, he realized that Red seemed to have some problems, but he himself couldn't quite grasp what exactly was wrong with Red.

"Professor Flitwick, I have some questions I'd like to discuss with you."

After class, Reid proactively approached Professor Flitwick. He realized his problem, which was why he took the initiative to ask questions. He would never have any questions in areas he didn't understand.

"You mean... you feel your magic overshadows the spell's effect, and in reality, your spell isn't working properly at all?!"

Professor Flitwick felt his worldview crumbling. He couldn't understand why a first-year wizard could say such a thing to him so seriously. What puzzled him even more was that when Red said those words, he actually felt that Red was right.

"His affinity for magic is so strong that it overwhelms the original effect of the spell. It's an amazing talent. If I'm not mistaken, it's a talent so amazing that it leaves you speechless. Even Merlin might not dare to say that."

Professor Flitwick muttered to himself, but Reid didn't care. He silently looked at his wand, where countless magical wisps were scattered around him, wandering erratically. But with a single command, or perhaps without even a command, he could arrange these magical wisps into a shield.

"In that case, perhaps you need some more in-depth instruction... Advanced spells often require exquisite control. Red, come with me. I'll test everything you've said first. If it's true, I think you need to learn something more advanced for your age."

Professor Flitwick felt a long-lost excitement. He even wanted to share this information with Dumbledore immediately. Although Red was a Hufflepuff, Professor Flitwick hoped that everyone, regardless of which house they came from, could make the most of their talents.

So Red was taken away by Professor Flitwick. Most of the tests were a piece of cake for him. The problem was how much he was going to reveal to Hogwarts.
