The Silent Bookstore Manager at Hogwarts
Chapter 13 [Refining and Promotion]
"First-year students, please note that the wooded area on the school grounds is off-limits to all students. Some of our homeroom teachers should also remember this."
When Dumbledore said this, he was looking at a pair of twins who looked somewhat like Ron.
"Also, Mr. Filch, the administrator, asked me to remind everyone not to use your magic in the corridors."
Mr. Filch, with his gloomy face as if everyone owed him a million dollars, had a rather thin and small cat standing at his feet, seemingly observing everyone along with him.
"The screening of Quidditch players will take place in the second week of this semester..."
"Finally, I must tell everyone that anyone who does not wish to encounter an accident and die a painful death should not enter the corridor on the right side of the fourth floor."
Harry seemed thoughtful, while Red simply sneered. This wasn't a reminder at all; it was an attempt to lure certain people to the Forbidden Forest. If they didn't want people to go in, they wouldn't need to add so many modifiers and adjectives.
"Alright everyone, let's begin to enjoy the Hogwarts dinner."
A sumptuous and delicious meal was laid out on the table. At Dumbledore's command, almost all the students reached for their favorite food without hesitation. Red ate heartily, devouring the meat. Just then, a drink was handed to him.
"Thanks."
Reid drank his beverage, and sitting next to him was Justin Finley, a Hufflepuff freshman who had enrolled with him.
The two exchanged a glance and nodded to each other before returning to their battle. Compared to Red, Justin was not in such a hurry, leisurely savoring the Hogwarts dinner.
"You seem a little..."
"Yes, I was indeed starving, Reed Maxwell."
"Justin Finley, it's a pleasure to meet you."
The two shook hands again, and Red looked up at the sky, where many ghosts were floating out through the walls. According to the book, these ghosts were strange beings that had long resided in Hogwarts, and many of them were originally students there.
"Hello, hello, welcome to Hufflepuff! Have a great time here."
Red stretched his back. The chubby ghost monk in front of him was a Hufflepuff graduate, and he was greeting each new classmate very enthusiastically.
"Our dormitory entrance is right next to the wine cellar in the kitchen. Remember to follow me after you finish eating. There are a few wooden barrels at the entrance. When you enter, you need to tap the bottom of the second barrel in the second row in the rhythm of 'Helga Hufflepuff.' If you tap it correctly, the bottom of the barrel will open, leading to the common room."
Red looked at the speaker, Cedric Diggory, a handsome and gentle young man from Hufflepuff, who was softly guiding the freshmen through the kitchen to their common room.
"Next is the dormitory assignment... I have some bad news. Due to the number of students this year, one student will have to share a single room with each new student. Is there anyone who would like to choose a single room?"
For a moment, almost all the freshmen fell silent. For them, the dormitory without classmates was obviously too lonely.
"I'll do it, prefect..."
Reid raised his hand. He felt that he would be better able to perform in a dormitory alone, and he needed his own space.
"Is everything alright?" Cedric asked instinctively.
"Sure, thank you."
Red nodded, and amidst the worried gazes of his classmates, he walked towards his own dormitory. Hufflepuff's dormitory and common area were very cozy. The large bed with curtains was softer for Red than the bed in the guardhouse, but now was not the time for him to sleep. He took his walnut wand, revealed the silent house key hanging on his wrist that had shrunk to the size of an ordinary key, gently knocked on the dormitory door from the inside, and then pushed the door open.
So he went back into the Silent House and knocked on the reading room door with the key.
"Good evening, Harry. Did you have a good dinner?"
Harry Potter stared blankly at the reading room, completely unprepared for what he would find after opening the door. However, upon seeing Red, he quickly realized what had happened.
"Welcome back to the house. I didn't expect you to have magic like me. I should have known. But in that case... Harry, we'll have to change our study plans."
Red took a set of five books with yellow covers from the bookshelf. Judging from where Red placed them, Harry felt that they must have been written not too far in the past.
"Thanks to the people of Baldom, she left behind enough books for us to learn from now on."
Red picked up the first book marked with the Roman numeral I.
*The Locksmith's Dream: Light Through the Keyhole*: In this book, Teresa Garmier examines the similarities in the mystical dreams experienced by locksmiths. Volume 1 of the series. (Mystery: 4 [The Lamp]) (Containing the teachings of the great art: [Refinement and Ascension])
"As for physical training, we'll do it in the early morning. Then, every evening after class, we'll return to our residence to learn the Great Arts and do some room repairs. We can also practice spells and some other exercises that require space here. But to be honest, the time might be a bit tight, so it might make you feel quite tired. Is that alright?"
Harry felt a little nervous, but he nodded very seriously. He could not give up everything the house had given him, so he had to keep up with Red.
"Okay, let's begin then. Of course, to ensure you get a good night's sleep, we'll just be getting started today."
Red took out his wand, and magic followed the wand to lift the remaining books and put them back in their original positions.
"Levitation spell? You've already learned it?"
"This is not a levitation spell. It is just the simplest application of magic. As long as you have a precise enough control over magic, you can do this too, without using spells to control magic."
Red explained that he only had a superficial understanding of the Levitation Charm, and preferred to let magic do the job directly here.
"Alright, let's not talk about this anymore. We're going to start... learning something interesting."
