Hong Kong: Black Gold Tycoons
Chapter 62 Sherry
The following morning, all the media in Hong Kong were reporting on the gunfight at the Tsing Yi docks.
Sing Tao Daily front page: "Flying Tigers engage in bloody battle at Tsing Yi shipyard, killing nearly 100 ruthless bandits!"
The front page of the Hong Kong Commercial Daily reads: "Police swiftly crack down on Hong Kong's largest arms deal!"
Ming Pao's front page: "A night of gunfight in Tsing Yi, fierce exchange of fire between police and gangsters, the gang is completely wiped out!"
Every newspaper's headline was reporting on last night's gunfight.
The message was sent out from the Police Public Relations Branch at 3 a.m., with carefully crafted wording that highlighted the bravery of the Flying Tigers while downplaying the cause of the operation.
Although the content of each newspaper's report differed slightly, one name appeared repeatedly in the reports: Henry Cyril.
"Under the personal command of Senior Superintendent Henry Cyril, a meticulously planned operation successfully dismantled a heavily armed criminal gang, seized a large quantity of weapons, killed nearly a hundred criminals, and suffered only minor injuries to a few police officers."
The accompanying photo is an old picture of Henry, dressed in a suit and tie, his blond hair neatly combed, with a confident smile on his lips, the quintessential English gentleman.
Next to the photo is another photo of the Tsing Yi shipyard, with shell casings scattered all over the ground and the walls riddled with holes. Flying Tigers members are on guard with guns, creating a shocking scene.
Commissioner of Police John Han issued a brief statement: "The success of this operation fully demonstrates the professionalism and determination of the Hong Kong Police Force in combating crime. Senior Superintendent Henry Cyril's skillful command is indispensable."
The Governor's Office also sent a congratulatory message, which was full of enthusiasm and praised the police force for "upholding the rule of law and peace in Hong Kong".
The whole of Hong Kong is cheering for the police force.
No one knew that among those nearly one hundred corpses was a gang that had originally planned to do something big, but then died in a daze.
No one expected that this was a completely random exchange of fire.
As for the five bodies in the Repulse Bay villa, Henry had already disposed of them before dawn.
He claimed that he had been directing the case at the Tsing Yi docks all night, but the people there died mysteriously in his house, presumably due to a drunken argument and mutual killing.
When the forensic team arrived, the overturned coffee table, shattered bottles, bloodstains all over the floor, and the weapons in everyone's hands all pointed to an out-of-control melee.
Henry, that damned devil, insisted that he was directing last night's gunfight, but due to some technical reasons, he lost contact with his subordinates.
No one doubted it, and no one dared to doubt it.
The deaths of five high-ranking officials at a private party would be a disgrace to the entire Hong Kong government should the scandal spread.
Based on past experience, such cases are usually closed quietly internally at most.
After dealing with these matters, Henry looked at his own photo in the newspaper and remained motionless for a long time.
In the photo, he is dressed in a suit and looks very confident, with the caption "Police Hero Henry Cyril".
However, he is now a dog.
……
Central, Mandarin Oriental Hotel coffee shop.
Chen Fei sat by the window, holding this morning's newspaper in his hand. The front page about the gunfight at Qingyi Dock was particularly eye-catching.
"Have you been waiting long?" a female voice came from behind.
He turned his head and saw Michelle walking towards him with a smile, wearing a beige dress and her hair draped over her shoulders.
Michelle was accompanied by a young girl, about fifteen or sixteen years old, with a ponytail. Her eyebrows and eyes were somewhat similar to Michelle's, but her temperament was completely different.
Michelle has a gentle yet spirited appearance, while this girl is obviously stubborn at first glance.
"No, I just arrived." Chen Fei stood up and pulled out a chair for Michelle.
After Michelle sat down, the girl followed suit, her eyes scanning Chen Fei without any stage fright.
"Who is this?" Chen Fei asked.
"My sister," Michelle said with a smile. "Yan Huiming, you can just call her Little Sister. She just came back from Australia and insisted on coming with me to broaden her horizons, so I brought her along."
"Sister, don't talk to me like I'm a child, okay?" Yan Huiming muttered unhappily, then turned to look at Chen Fei and extended her hand generously, "Hello, my name is Yan Huiming. My sister told me that you are the boss of Black Gold Group. I have read your magazine."
Chen Fei shook hands with her. "Which of my magazines have you read?"
"Yes!" Yan Huiming's eyes lit up. "I love the photos of the celebrities in it, and the horoscopes too. When I was in Australia, my older sister sent me a copy. Oh, and I also voted in that 'Student Sweetheart' contest."
Chen Fei couldn't help but laugh.
Yan Huiming speaks very quickly, chattering away like a little bird that never stops.
"As long as you like it."
"It's more than just liking." Yan Huiming leaned forward, lowering her voice as if to tell a secret, "Mr. Chen, I want to enter the entertainment industry, but my sister keeps preventing me. Can you help me?"
Michelle gently patted her on the shoulder, "Little sister, don't be so disrespectful, acting like you're very close to Mr. Chen."
"It's enough that we're familiar with each other, and I'm serious."
Yan Huiming dodged Michelle's hand, her eyes still fixed on Chen Fei. "I'm not bad-looking, am I? My sister is a big star, I can't be too much worse than her, right? Mr. Chen, you know so many people in the entertainment industry, could you introduce me to some people?"
Michelle frowned: "Why did you suddenly enter the entertainment industry?"
She knew very well what the entertainment industry was like and never wanted her younger sister to go in.
Yan Huiming snorted and said, "Anyway, I'm not good at studying, and I'm not good at anything else, so I might as well try the entertainment industry. Besides, aren't you in the industry too? You could help me out, so why do you always stop me?"
Chen Fei laughed and said, "You really want to enter the entertainment industry?"
"Yes!" Yan Huiming nodded vigorously.
"Then you'll need a stage name."
"A stage name?" Yan Huiming's eyes lit up immediately. "That's right, like my sister. Mr. Chen, why don't you help me think of a stage name? Let me see if it sounds good."
Looking at her face, which hadn't fully matured but whose features were already visible, Chen Fei asked without hesitation, "How about Shirley?"
"Sydney?" Yan Huiming repeated it twice. "Sydney...Sydney...seems pretty good."
"Sydney, that's a name that's both characteristic of Hong Kong and easy to remember. Plus, when you put your sister Michelle's name together, you can tell at a glance that you're from the same family."
Michelle looked somewhat displeased. "What stage name are you going to give her? Anyway, I don't want her to enter the entertainment industry. You know what it's like in there."
"It's alright, I've got her back. Anyone who dares to make a move, I'll chop off their hand. You know what I'm capable of," Chen Fei said.
Yan Huiming immediately beamed, "Thank you so much, Mr. Chen! I'll treat you to dinner when I become famous!"
Chen Fei smiled and shook his head, "You should become famous first."
Yan Huiming then bombarded Michelle with a barrage of questions, such as whether the entertainment industry was easy to navigate, whether she should participate in a beauty pageant first, or go directly to a television station.
Michelle was talking to Chen Fei while giving her casual replies.
After chatting for a while, Shirley suddenly leaned over and asked in a low voice, "Mr. Chen, I heard that your book 'Black Gold' is full of true stories? Some people also say that you have dirt on many people, even the Governor of Hong Kong. Is that true?"
Michelle glared at her, "Little sister, stop talking nonsense."
"Let me ask," Sherry said, sticking out her tongue.
Chen Fei looked at her and smiled, "Why would a young girl like you care about these things?"
"Just curious." Sherry blinked. "You don't seem like a bad person, but your actions don't seem like those of a good person. It's strange."
"Little sister!" Michelle's voice rose slightly.
