Peninsula: My Top-Tier Landlord

Chapter 68: Targeting the Table Immediately

Generally speaking, when a friend brings another friend to a drinking party, if they don't know each other, the person who brought the friend will undoubtedly take extra care of their friend.

If the conversation turns to topics that your friend can't participate in, the person who was brought along will definitely wave their hand and say something polite like "Don't worry, I'm fine," not wanting to disturb their friend's conversation with others.

This kind of thing happens at most parties, and Ye Fan did the same thing, so he didn't think he did anything wrong. The key point is that he really didn't care!

Therefore, he was a little confused about Bae Joo-hyun's slightly temperamental behavior. He was just speaking normally and hadn't said anything to upset her.

The drinking games continued, and Bae Joo-hyun was attacked again. She had already drunk almost two bottles, and her eyes were a little glazed. Ye Fan saw this and immediately stopped her, telling her not to drink anymore, while also making her drink all the wine she owed.

Even with her eyes glazed over, Bae Joo-hyun still stared at Ye Fan, biting her lower lip, looking pitiful and wronged.

Ye Fan shook his head and gently patted Bae Joo-hyun's shoulder, thinking he would ask her later. But as soon as he patted her, Bae Joo-hyun leaned down and rested her head on his shoulder.

"Brother-in-law, then you'll have to drink whatever Unnie loses next," Park Soo-young teased Ye Fan.

"Let her rest for a bit, she won't participate anymore." Ye Fan shook his head, Bae Joo-hyun had almost finished drinking.

"Alright then, brother-in-law, you'd better watch out."

"Bring it on!"

During the re-drawing phase, Shin Hyo-seop also leaned close to Park Soo-young's ear and whispered a question about Ye Fan's alcohol tolerance.

"My brother-in-law has a great alcohol tolerance. When we had a get-together before, he helped me drink when I got drunk. He could handle all four of us by himself," Park Soo-young whispered back.

"That strong? Then Irene's anger is because of this..."

"Of course not, there are many reasons, I'll explain later."

After playing two rounds and seeing that he was being targeted, Ye Fan suggested switching to a different game, Liar's Dice. He explained the rules and taught him some tricks, which improved the situation considerably.

Damn it, why am I always targeted as soon as I sit down at the table?

Ye Fan was really fed up. Bae Joo-hyun was almost dead, and only Seulgi and Park Soo-young were around. Besides, her boyfriend was there too, so why was he being targeted?

Why are they targeting this fake couple when there's a real couple at the table?!

Because of the new game, Kang Seulgi and the others were having a lot of fun and forgot about targeting Ye Fan. The main thing was that this game was about playing mind games, and they could lie, so they couldn't be sure whether Ye Fan was telling the truth or not.

By 10 o'clock, Seulgi and the others had almost finished the drinks they ordered, and Shin Hyo-seop suggested going to a karaoke bar, which the other three immediately agreed to.

Just as Ye Fan was about to suggest taking Bae Joo-hyun home, his shoulder relaxed, and Bae Joo-hyun sat up and agreed to sing two more songs.

"OK, let's all have a toast and finish our drinks before we head out!" Kang Seulgi said, filling her glass and raising it without even asking Ye Fan's opinion. In her mind, if her unnie went, her brother-in-law would definitely go too.

Ye Fan shook his head helplessly, clinked glasses with her, took Bae Joo-hyun's bag, and helped her out the door.

"You're already like this, why are you going to the second game? Just go home and rest."

"I'm not drunk yet. Besides, I'll go sing some karaoke and sober up after I get rid of the alcohol," Bae Joo-hyun replied softly, her arm around Ye Fan's.

"and……"

"Who told you to make me angry!" Bae Joo-hyun faced Ye Fan, raising her head to stare at him.

"What did I do to make you angry?" Ye Fan asked with a smile. Since the topic had come up, he asked directly. He still didn't understand what made Bae Joo-hyun angry.

"Because you rejected my concern! I saw you were bored and tried to chat with you, but you refused." Bae Joo-hyun said, gently bumping her head against Ye Fan's chest.

A question mark slowly appeared above Ye Fan's head. Just because of this?

He chuckled lightly. This was a perfectly normal response. They were all in the industry, chatting about work and music. It was perfectly normal, and there was no need for them to cater to someone like him who was an outsider.

With this question answered and seeing that Bae Joo-hyun was angry because of this, Ye Fan found it somewhat endearingly unexpected. "How old is she? Really..."

But it could also be a cultural difference?

Ye Fan gently patted her head and explained the reason to her, showing that he really didn't care about this matter.

"Thank you for your concern, but I prefer to be alone in my free time, as you know, so I really didn't mind."

"Brother-in-law, you two stop being so lovey-dovey, it's time to go over there."

When Kang Seulgi and the others came out of the restroom, they saw the two of them huddled together, all lovey-dovey, and quickly said something.

Ye Fan nodded, took out his phone and called a designated driver, while Bae Joo-hyun snuggled into her younger sister Joo-hee's arms.

Seeing this, Kang Seulgi moved closer to Ye Fan and whispered, "Brother-in-law, what's going on? Unnie seemed a little sulky just now?"

"It's just a misunderstanding," Ye Fan said, then explained the reason again.

So that's what happened. Kang Seulgi nodded. She thought the two of them had some kind of argument. If that was the case, then she, as the director, would have to step in and mediate.

"But why didn't you ask me if I wanted to go?" After explaining, Ye Fan glanced at Jiang Seulgi again. He had just been thinking of taking Bae Joo-hyun back and then going home to rest. He was exhausted today, and he had to go to work tomorrow.

"Since Unnie said she's going, you naturally have to go too, right? Besides, some friends are coming later. How can you bear to leave Unnie alone?" Kang Seulgi crossed her arms and gave Ye Fan a sidelong glance.

"There are more experts?!" Ye Fan exclaimed, his eyes wide.

"Yeah, but they're just oppas and unnies from the same company as us and we get along well. Don't worry, brother-in-law, they're both really nice people." Kang Seulgi patted his shoulder.

The car arrived, and Ye Fan called Bae Joo-hyun over, ready to get in and set off.

Bae Joo-hee and Kang Seul-gi also planned to hitch a ride together, not wanting to be a third wheel for Park Soo-young and Shin Hyo-seop.

Bae Joo-hee and Kang Seul-gi walked ahead. They both recognized Bae Joo-hyun's car and led the way for the designated driver.

"This is for you..." As they walked, Bae Joo-hyun handed the package in her hand to Ye Fan.

Ye Fan took it, then turned to look at Bae Joo-hyun with some confusion, "What's this?"

"A Christmas present for you."

P.S.: I overslept the day before yesterday. I wanted to take a nap around 3 pm, but I fell into a very deep sleep and when I opened my eyes it was the next day...
