Witch Training Manual: My Water Magic Is Wrong
Chapter 38 The Innocent Girl Who Was Controlled
Tilulu and her companion appeared in a small alley.
The alley was narrow, with dilapidated wooden houses on both sides. Sewage was accumulating on the ground, and the sun had not yet shone in, with only a sliver of gray sky overhead.
Tilulu leaned against the wall, panting heavily.
She was still wrapped in that black monk's robe, the large robe covering her entire body, revealing only a section of silver hair and half of her flushed face.
Emily stood beside her, looking down at her.
"Lulu, what's wrong?"
Tilulu didn't speak. The blush on her face hadn't faded, and her eyes were still glistening with tears. She looked like she had just been pulled out of the water.
She rested for a while before raising her head.
"fine."
Emily leaned forward.
She stared into Tilulu's eyes.
"Are you really alright, Lulu?"
Tilulu turned her face away shyly.
"Let me catch my breath."
Emily didn't ask any more questions.
She stood by, waiting for Tilulu to calm down. After a while, Tilulu's breathing finally became steady, and the blush on her face faded a little.
"Alright," Tilulu said, her voice becoming more steady.
Tilulu looked at Emily.
"We've been exposed."
Emily paused for a moment.
"What do you mean?"
Tilulu said:
"That bishop, he discovered us a long time ago."
Emily opened her mouth, but no words came out.
Tilulu continued, "You went to him yesterday, and he knew. I went to test him today, and he knew that too. We haven't been hiding anything from the beginning."
Emily stood there, stunned.
She remembered what happened yesterday.
She clung to his leg, begging him to save her. He gave her money to buy clothes, remaining calm throughout. She thought it was her acting skills, or the priest's professional demeanor. Now, she realizes it wasn't acting at all.
He had already seen through her, and was just playing along.
"How did he know?" Emily asked.
Tilulu remained silent for a while.
"He said it," she said.
"And there's something very strange about him."
"What is it?"
Tilulu thought for a moment, but didn't know how to describe it.
"His water element," she finally said, "could penetrate my mist. I did nothing, just stood in the mist watching him, and his water element... just..."
She didn't finish speaking.
Emily looked at her.
"So what?"
Tilulu's face turned a little redder.
"It seeped in."
Tilulu didn't answer, her expression becoming complicated. Emily paused, then suddenly realized what she meant.
"Sister Lulu, you mean, he didn't do anything, he just stood there, and you..."
"Stop, stop talking."
Tilulu quickly interrupted her.
Although Emily kept her mouth shut, she couldn't hide the smile on her face. She never expected that the usually aloof and elegant Tilulu would have such a shameful moment.
Emily's expression changed as if she had just remembered something: "Lulu, do you think he might report this to the church?"
Tilulu raised her head.
"What?"
"It's... everything." Emily's voice was low. "If he tells the church about this, and the church knows that there's a witch cult stronghold in Frosttown, then we..."
Tilulu's silver eyes were fixed on the direction of the alley entrance.
"The bishops the church sent to Frosttown in the past were all idiots. One died and another came, and then another died. I didn't expect this time... to be a troublesome one."
Tilulu thought for a moment and then spoke.
"There's no need to rush to report this to the church."
"Just keep an eye on him. If he dares to send someone out of town to another place, don't blame us for being ruthless."
Emily nodded.
Tilulu continued, "I now suspect that those three witches were controlled by him and became the playthings of that evil bishop."
"We must report this to our eldest sister and find a chance to rescue those three innocent witches."
Emily looked at Tilulu and hesitated for a moment.
"Sister Lulu, are you sure it's controlled? The two younger ones seem perfectly normal to me..."
"Is this normal?" Tilu interrupted her.
"What do you consider normal?"
Emily opened her mouth.
Tilulu continued, "They are witches. From childhood, they were treated as monsters, hunted, burned at the stake, and sold from one place to another. Have you ever seen a witch who could be with a priest and still come out smiling?"
Emily didn't say anything.
"There's only one possibility," Tilulu paused, "that is, they've been completely controlled."
Emily asked softly, "So what do we do now?"
Tilulu stood up straight and tightened her black robe.
"Let's go find our eldest sister."
"That makes sense!"
……
Wayne on the other side was quite speechless.
I was planning to get up early and go for a walk.
I never expected that not only would I lose one of my few robes, but I would also get slapped. I can only say that I had bad luck today.
He stood there, shivering.
The morning frost in the town was bitterly cold. The wind blew in from the north, carrying the chill of the mountains, which gave him goosebumps.
The robe was made by him in Audrey. Although it wasn't made of the finest material, it was comfortable to wear and suited his status.
He sighed and turned to walk back.
The church door was ajar.
Mayfair was standing by the well, drawing water. Hearing footsteps, she looked up and her gaze fell on Wayne.
stunned for a moment.
Wayne was wearing only a thin shirt.
Mayfair's gaze lingered on him for a moment, then shifted away, and she continued to draw water.
"Good morning," she said.
Wayne nodded.
"morning."
He sniffed and walked towards his room.
Pushing open the door, Ella and Emma were still asleep.
The two girls squeezed onto another bed. Emma clung to her sister's arm, her face buried in the pillow. Ella, a light sleeper, woke up at the sound of the door opening and groggily lifted her head.
"Owner?"
Wayne glanced at her.
"Go back to sleep."
Ella rubbed her eyes and looked at him.
"Master, where are your clothes?"
Wayne was silent for a second.
"...It was given to someone who needed it."
Ella blinked, not understanding, but didn't ask again. She lay back down, closed her eyes, and quickly fell asleep again.
Wayne walked to the cabinet, pulled out an old robe, put it on, buttoned it up, and sat down on the edge of his bed.
The panel then popped up automatically.

Bishop Charman's health is fluctuating. The effects of the medicine are wearing off faster than expected, and he only has about ten days left. But he refuses to give up, taking various medications every day and insisting on walking, hoping for a recovery.
[P.S.: His messenger to Frosttown has departed. He carries a handwritten letter and fifty Virgin Shields. The letter advises you not to return to Aldrian for the time being, but rather to cross the border to a neighboring country to avoid trouble.]
