Emily glanced at the corpse on the ground.

"Should we kill this one too?"

Wayne withdrew his hand.

"From top to bottom, not a single member of the Thieves' Guild is clean. He was involved in Matt's case and knew that Matt had come into contact with forbidden items, but instead of reporting it, he chose to keep the information to himself and silence him in revenge. For that reason alone, he is not innocent."

Then Wayne turned around and waved to Lucy.

The little girl hesitated for a moment, but still came over.

Wayne pointed to the carriage parked by the roadside: "Follow this coachman. When you arrive at the manor, a sister named Alice will greet you. She will arrange everything for you. With her, you don't need to worry about anyone hitting or scolding you."

Lucy stood in front of the carriage and glanced at Wayne again.

"...My lord, will we ever meet again?"

"Yes."

Wayne glanced at the carriage that was waiting anxiously, and then instructed the driver, "Take that child back to the manor and hand him over to Alice. Let her make the arrangements."

The driver nodded quickly.

Wayne didn't linger any longer; he reached out his hand to Emily.

"Let's go check out that thieves' guild's stronghold."

Emily immediately understood and reached out to grasp his wrist.

The next second, the two figures simultaneously sank into the shadows beneath their feet, disappearing completely as if they had never existed.

Only seven piles of ashes remained, along with a group of onlookers who hadn't completely dispersed, standing there dumbfounded.

The streets of Raven's Nest were quiet for a moment after Wayne and Emily disappeared, then they boiled over like water.

"Gone? It just disappeared! It was standing there a moment ago!"

"Who cares if he's a priest or not? Didn't you see the captain of the guard kneel down? He's a big shot!"

"What important person would dress like that in a place like ours?"

"You don't know this, do you? Truly important people often prefer to dress plainly and travel incognito! Isn't that what they say in those storytelling tales?"

"But he killed seven people! In the middle of the street! Even if he was a big shot, this is just too much..."

"Didn't you hear that? The Holy Light Judgment! That red light is practically dripping blood! Those seven people all have murder on their hands! What's wrong with killing a few blood-stained villains? Are we going to let them continue to plague us?"

"That's true... those hooligans have been running rampant on the streets for years, and today they've finally gotten their comeuppance."

The sounds of discussion rose and fell in the narrow streets, but most people breathed a sigh of relief.

Those local bullies who had terrorized the Crow's Nest District for years have finally disappeared completely today.

No one knows the young priest's name, nor where he went. But it's foreseeable that this scene will be the hottest topic of conversation in the Raven's Nest tavern for a long time to come.

On the other side, when Wayne and Emily emerged from the shadows, they were already standing in a completely different space.

This is a very spacious underground space.

The air was humid and murky.

It was much larger than Wayne had expected. It was at least as wide as two or three basketball courts, divided into several functional areas by rough wooden fences and tattered curtains.

In the very center was a long table, on which were scattered playing cards, dice, and a few copper coins.

Several shirtless men were gambling around a table when they heard a noise and looked up to see two strangers appear out of nowhere in the middle of the hall.

One of the underlings stood up first, still clutching a dagger he hadn't had time to put away. His gaze swept back and forth between Wayne and Emily as he asked warily, "Who are you? How did you get in?"

Wayne did not answer his question.

His gaze passed over the leader's shoulder and landed on the row of iron cages in the corner of the hall.

It's more like a dog cage than an iron cage.

The dog cage was packed with children.

The children inside were huddled in a corner, some barely clothed, others covered in injuries.

Wayne's gaze darkened.

He turned to Emily and said, "Keep two alive who can be questioned, and kill the rest."

Emily didn't speak, but only slightly curled the corners of her lips before disappearing into the shadows.

The shadows moved silently between the walls and the ground, each flash landing precisely behind a villain.

The dagger flashed and disappeared in the dim light of the oil lamp, followed by a dull thud as someone fell to the ground.

"Enemy attack—!!!"

Finally, someone realized what was happening, and screams erupted.

The remaining people around the gambling table grabbed whatever weapons were at hand. Some picked up daggers, some swung stools, and some turned and ran behind the curtain at the back of the hall to get the crossbows hidden in the corner.

But their speed, compared to the shadows moving around them, was as slow as struggling in a swamp.

The first one. The second one. The third one.

……

Before the men gathered around the gambling table could even react to what was happening, they began to collapse one after another.

Wayne was also busy.

He took a step forward and bumped into a bald, burly man wielding a short-handled axe. The man was broad-shouldered and thick-waisted, with a face full of scars, and his axe swings made a whooshing sound as he chopped down.

The axe fell.

However, no trace was left on Wayne.

At this moment, as a fourth-tier physical cultivator warrior, ordinary swords, blades, and axes no longer pose any threat to him.

Wayne threw a backhand punch at the burly man.

With one punch, the burly man was sent flying.

From the moment Emily disappeared into the shadows to the moment the last standing villain fell to the ground, the entire process took no more than the time it takes to brew a cup of tea.

More than a dozen corpses lay scattered in the underground hall, and the air was filled with the fresh smell of blood.

Wayne did not immediately go to find that so-called big shot.

He stood still and whispered a prayer.

"...May the goddess forgive my actions today. All killings arise from redemption, and blood debts will ultimately end with mercy. May the departed rest in peace, and the living find salvation."

When she opened her eyes again, Emily was carrying a man in each arm, steadily walking towards Wayne.

"Sir, they are the leaders of the Thieves' Guild."

The panel unfolded in his field of vision.

[Gu Lei, Chairman of the Raven's Nest District Branch]

[Rank: Early Stage Fourth-Tier Warrior]

[Note: The head of the Raven's Nest branch of the Thieves' Guild has been operating in Raven's Nest for over a decade, controlling hundreds of beggars and dozens of peripheral members. His loyalty to money far outweighs his loyalty to the guild. Simply put, for a price that tempts him enough, he will not hesitate to betray everything he knows.]

[Note: His leg was broken when Emily captured him earlier, and he is currently in excruciating pain but dares not cry out.]

Gure raised his head, his gaze finding Wayne standing in front of him in the dim light.

He forced a smile that looked more like a grimace: "My lord... I... I'm just a small business owner... Is there some misunderstanding between us...?"

Wayne didn't waste any more words.

Where is Matt?
